I think Kirk wins when it comes to getting the hands dirty. He always went straight into the battles and came out on top. Hell, he was even stuck on some freezing winter planet prison.
Agreed on all counts. I loved Picard, but Kirk was a real close second.
That, and he was the captain that got the world hooked on Star Trek, so he deserves a little credit for that as well.

Lol, Kirk got no votes. As much as I love William Shtner, Kirk just annoyed me. Too bad my favoutire Captain isn't on here so I voted for Archer. After watching the original 'The Cage' I have to say Pike is ten times cooled than Kirk. Picard was okay but he wasn't an action man and Janeway is evil as far as I'm concerned. Sisko ties with Archer because lets face it, for a guy who hardly left the station for several seasons, he really kicked ass once they got the Defiant.

He didn't beat up the Borg...granted, Kirk probably didn't know the Borg existed, but come on! Janeway and Picard both beat up a species infinitely more powerful than the Federation on numerous occasions...I think the Federation could handle the Klingons, especially after Praxis exploded.

Sisko. He had the bravado of Janeway and the good judgement of Picard. Janeway was too reckless and Picard never got his hands dirty.

I think Kirk is the best and Sisko second. Kirk was the original and best, even though some of the things he fought were pretty cheesy looking. Sisko had the best of Picard and Janeway. I think Janeway is okay. She did change her mind a lot. And as for Archer, I didnt like the show in general.

Yes, Picard = Patrick Stewart. He is my favourite too, but I don't understand why Kirk got no votes, though. If the old series may not be of the same time as most of us here, his performance in the Star Trek movies is really good. I would vote for him as second-best captain after Picard.

Janeway, stick to her principles? She was always changing her attitude on things. One minute, she preached sticking to the Prime Directive, the next minute, she shattered the PD like fine china, without even a thought.

How can no one say Kirk??? This is a travesty! He romanced the women, fought the bad guys, uncovered mysteries, and still had time to teach things to aliens that had it all mixed up. He is by far the best captain.

Why doesn't anyone vote for the man who started it all??? He coulsd take risks but was intellegent, and was the original captain. This coming from a 12 year old fan:(
