Then I thank you and the rest of the crew for showing respect and admiration for Admiral Thain. I am sure he has done many a great deed to serve our cause. To go where no man has gone before..................................................
Off: Thank you. It still felt dam tempted. Thanks again. I am grow tired. Laugh.
*looks at his console* *adjusts some sensor systems*
no wait... they are not weapons, they are...................
Sir. I have been reviewing the navigation logs and I have found data that could prove that they are telling the truth. There are signs that we have been followed for some time now, though the signals are very faint.
*a few seconds went by*
nothing yet sir.
Sir, it may be necessary to shut the inertial dampeners off some times so the course will be rough.
Hm.....Captain. We are still holding together. Holding firm, but much MUCH repair needs to be done. Shields are still operational, but working at a capacity of 50%. The rest of the ship shall hold until we see a port. Hull and Warp engines took considerable damage. Sensors are still operational. Maintaining communications, Captain. AT YOUR ORDERS!
(There better now. lol. see you soon. Mr. Sanchez. Humph.
lol.)
=^= Sanchez to away team =^=
Proceed, away team. The Evolution is about to dock at docking port 1, so when you are ready return to the ship through docking port 1.
=^= Sanchez out =^=
"Mr. Dalon, begin the docking procedure."
"Have all stations and decks reported ready for battle?"
"At least the SEV Paladin is in a much better shape than we are... We have to recover our strength or we'll just run a suicidal mission. Damage report and status report, all stations! I repeat: all stations, damage report and status report!"
I'll drop out of warp as soon as the romulans disengage, sir.
*the ship shakes for some seconds*
Exaustion complete. Minimal damage to the nacelles, sir.
*pauses for a while*
The Romulans are disengaging. I'm dropping out of warp... We are now on the border of the Quantum Singularity Network, sir.
Off: To dam tempted. Thanks.
At that moment, the Romulan ship finally explodes completely, leaving nothing whole... the explosion is huge, and the shockwave hits the USS Evolution as well, making the ship tremble and shudder for a moment... Then, out of the explosion fire comes the unknown ship, heading toward the USS Evolution, but not opening fire...
*takes his position. after reconfiguring the console for a few seconds, he turns to the captain*
Sir, is there any information on the computer related to our role in the upcoming battle? With your permission, I will also look for data on romulan attack patterns on the computer tactical library, while we wait for the attack order.
*The bridge goes dark*
RED ALERT!!
"Good idea, Mr. Dalon. We're about 2 minutes away from the Quantum Singularity Network now... so I suggest you proceed with this plan right before we arrive at t he QSN, since we will have to drop out of warp there anyway..."
Computer voice: "Warning. Warp core overheated. Temperature exceeding established parameters. Warp breach imminent in 2 minutes 3 seconds."
But I believe we owe you an explanation of all that goes on here. You see, not very far from here, we have a space station located, named Deep Space 12. It's purpose is non-violent, but simply research, exploration, and supply for our ships. This Romulan Coalition has overtaken our station, and that is why we are here in such a large number... to take back our ship.
As your Delta Alliance space appears to be close to it, the outcome of this battle will also affect you. After all, if we lose this battle, nothing will stop the Romulans from overtaking parts of your space as well, and raiding your ships. The situation is more serious than it seems, I'm afraid, and there's a second problem: the Romulans use cloaking technology. I don't know if you're familiar with that, but its the ability to let a ship wholly disappear from sensors as well as the naked eye, so if they gain power by defeating us, they can simply cloak themselves and penetrate your space easily... And from that point, they can monitor everything that goes on in your part of space, they can find your weaknesses and prepare an attack in full force... and they're capable of doing it, our captured station is the proof of that.
As it is, we aren't faring very well in this battle. In fact, my own ship is hardly in any position to do much more battle, and the other ships are not gaining too much either. In fact, one's destroyed already. We need help, or we will lose this battle..."
*At that moment, the USS Evolution receives a salvo of Romulan disrupter fire and shakes heavily under the impact. The lights go out for a moment, and then back on, and some panels explode.
"Mr. Dalon, how did they manage to hit-- Oh no, they hit our warp nacelles! Mr. Vurak, I need you in engineering right now! We need warp capability for in case we have to make our way out soon!
Mr. Brooks, take the tactical station and open fire, full spread!"
(He returns to his work on the council and once again has that deep focused look, but he currently is scanning the area for signs of the enemy or is he.)
Off::)
(Edited by Vurak Spock at 1:01 am on Oct. 20, 2003)
"Finally some action! Mr. Vurak, it seems we will not have enough time for your plan, but even so I like it, and we should keep it as a backup plan for in case things wont end up the way we hope."
He walks toward the viewscreen where the station and Romulan ships are displayed.
"The Klingons would say to this: today is a good day to die!" He pushes a button. "All decks, battle stations!"
All that is known is the name, the A.S.C. Revox. oh and *checks the database for even a small hint* what appears to be an alliance of some sorts, I think... it begins with Delta, yeah, the Delta Alliance.
Intentions unknown sir.
"Good work Lieutenant, now let's try to extinguish that main fire from the outside!"
After everyone had evacuated sickbay, Keilah and Lt Hirson activated the manual-extinguishers. In 10 minutes the proces ended and sickbay could be entered again. Keilah opened the door and saw the devastation of his sickbay.
"Well, I guess there will be no more aid in sickbay."
Keilah entered sickbay and was thinking for a solution to this problem. Suddenly the ship shaked again, several panels exploded and the doc had to come up with a good solution. More officers would be needing medical attention, but sickbay wasn't usable anymore.
"Allright I want everyone to search for medkits and other usable equipment which we can take with us towards Ten Forward! Ten Forward will be our next Medical Bay. Let's hurry, more casualties are on their way!"
Keilah grabbed three medkits and saw the other medical personel doing the same. To his surprise he saw that there were only three medical officers left. This would make the work more difficult, but he was convinced that this were worries for later concern.
==^==
Mr. Ardwyad, they just dont get it,
The QSN is where the gods of the local system reside,
But because you didnt know we will oversee this...
Quick! Hard to port
==^==
*The evolution moves to the side, and the Revox opens fire, the Romulan warbird disentegrates*
==^==
Anyway, where were we, ah yes, this is the Delta Alliances territory, we have a few rules if you wish to enter, and you are allowed...
1) Speeds higher than your warp 3 are prohibited unless you use a space catapult
2)Weapons fire is strictly prohibited unless it is absolutely necessary
==^==
Do you understand?
==^==
However sir, I believe it would be appropriate for you to chose in which situation I would be most useful for the ship.
The Evolution fires torpedoes at the Romulan warbird, smashing onto the enemy ship, but not causing enough damage to stop them.
Sanchez: "Mr. Dalon, engage!"
Dalon: "Aye, sir."
And a second later, the Evolution jumps to warp and accelerates to maximum warp.
Vurak: "Captain, the Romulan warbird is still pursuing us!"
Sanchez gets up from his seat and walks over to Dalon's station.
"Get the best speed we can get out of this ship, Mr. Dalon."
Dalon: "Going to maximum warp, captain, but the Romulans are still gaining on us!"
Sanchez: "Then increase some more!"
Dalon: "Aye, sir!"
Vurak: "Captain, we're overheating the engines! If we dont lower our speed soon, we'll tear the ship apart!"
Sanchez looks at the viewscreen, showing an aft view of the ship, where the Romulan warbird is still in pursuit and closing.
"We can't outrun them, we can't fight them... and they know it!"
Reeves: "Sir, I think I may have found a way out. We're close to the infamed Quantum Singularity Network. At maximum warp, we can get there in 3 minutes."
Sanchez: "The Quantum Singularity Network? That's the last place I'd think of to take the ship!"
Reeves: "I know, sir, but though its conditions are rough to reside, and it will need the helm and navigation to constantly adjust our positions, at least we'll be able to shield ourselves from the Romulan warbird. Their targetting scanners wont work to fire upon us, even if they would follow us into the Singularity Network. Even so, I doubt they will follow us there, since their ship is considerably larger, and thus alot heavier. The Evolution is a relatively small ship, alot lighter than most others, and the heavier an object, the stronger the pull of a quantum singularity will be. We can avoid being sucked into one of the singularities, but a huge Romulan warbird could never escape the gravity pull, and would be too large to navigate through them as well."
Sanchez ponders on this, and smiles.
"Good work, Mr. Reeves. Mr. Dalon, set a course to the Quantum Singularity Network at once, keep us at maximum warp."
Vurak: "If our warp core holds on even that long, we are seriously overheating the entire coil."
Sanchez: "It's that, or the Romulans blowing us to pieces!"
And the USS Evolution changes course, heading toward the Quantum Singularity Network.
Sanchez: "Be ready to drop us out of warp right in front of the singularities, Mr. Dalon, and to steer us inside there before the Romulan warbird can come about and open fire again..."
Computer voice: "Warning. Warp core overheated. Temperature exceeding established parameters. Warp breach imminent in 2 minutes 54 seconds."

The ship is docked sir. Latches are in place and the catwalks have been deployed. We are fully connected to the station now.
Sir, I may have found a way to get rid of both the Romulans and the overheating... Lt. Vurak could expel plasma from the warp core through the emergency vents on the nacelles. This would lower the temperature of the core considerably, but would force us to drop out of warp.
However, the Romulans who are pursuing us would most likely hit the plasma trail and have their own engines far more damaged.
I must say, though, that explling plasma from the warp core while at warp has never been done before and could be dangerous, since it is likely to alter temporarily our warp field's geometry.

OFF2: I have two characters on the team
*the ship dodges the salvo by a few meters*
Captain, when overpowered it is logical to retreat in order to avoid destruction.... *pauses for a split second*
I've detected a breach on the Romulan's formation... I'll put us through in a way that they won't be able to hit us without risking hitting one of their vessels... We can use our superior maneuverability in order to escape the attacks, though we'll not be able to fire back...
"Good job! Now scan for other problems!"
Operations: "A ship that goes under the name MEV Paladin is heavily damaged and dead in the water. It's surrounded by several Romulan warbirds that are about to destroy the ship!"
Ardwyad: "Head for the MEV Paladin, take those Romulans out!"
Again, the ASC Revox concentrates its firepower on the Romulan warbirds. Some more of their ships explode, others are trying to evade the unexpected firepower of the Revox - of a type they had never seen before and were not prepared for - but in vain, and they explode too... The MEV Paladin was saved by a matter of moments...
Ardwyad: "Good! Good! What else have we got?"
Operations: "Nearby the station, some other ships are being attacked... the USS New Orleans, USS Phoenix and USS Tiberon!"
Ardwyad: "Target the Romulan ships that are attacking them, and open fire - FULL SPREAD!"
And the ASC Revox, Delta Alliance security vessel, opened fire on the surprised Romulan warbirds, causing considerable damage...

"Ah, Mr. Dalon. It is good to have you back on my bridge. Permission granted, and please take your station. Ms. Connor, can you please take the navigation station here? So you can sit closer to me "
OFF: Daniel Reeves is our science officer. I'm sure he wont mind if you would want to assist him?
"Uh oh... this can't be good... Brace for impact!"
The ship shudders heavily as the Romulans open fire, especially since due to the very close range the impact is all the stronger. Red alert claxons blaze loudly, and the Romulan ships come about for another salvo.
"Evasive maneuvres, Mr. Dalon! Evasive maneuvres!"
I haven't been off the ship without being at space dock, sir.
=A= Sequoia to the fleet we are in position, please cut your engines and stand by. =A=
"What is your opinion, Mr. Brooks? Of course, if we do this, we are not completely acting according to plans and orders from Starfleet. But perhaps we might be thankful in the end."
Sir, I have detected a most curious signal. It's not being transmitted through any regular communications channel. instead, it originates from the station's navigational beacon.
This beacon usualy sends a transponder signal so that ships whose navigational sensors cannot detect the station's gravity well can avoid hitting the station while in warp.
The signal I have found is attached to the end of the transponder sequence and is very subtle. It is composed of seemingly random extra bits of information after the signal that could be dismissed as a faulty transmitter.
Those bits, however, have ben identified by the computer and match starfleet's newest encription rules.
*computer beeps*
Sir, the computer has just finished decoding it. It says: "Mission successful. Proceed as planned."
I believe this gives us permission to strike, sir.
(two phaser shots are fired from the Evolution to take down three scorpions. One was a direct hit and the second one was hit, but only moderately damaged until that ship accidently struck the ship next to it to destroy his campanion.
Off: eek
The Photon Torpedo was shot out only to miss its intended target.
Three of the ships then swerve 90 degrees to the left and the other three swerve to the right at the same velocity. The two in front swerve downwards.
The two swerving downward is positions itself to fire their weapons at us as beam was shot from our ship out to destroy another scorpion that came right into range of the beam. (The one from the left.)
Commander Brooks, Lateral sensors pick up impulse fluctuations coming from behind the ship that is not of our own. I am detecting no presence of any the moment of those ships. Cloaked ships is a strong possibility. Readying Photon Torpedos. Aim FIre!..........................................
Then the new, unknown ship hails the USS Evolution...

Keilah had been listening to the speech from Captain Sanchez and was astonished, how the captain could act so brave and not showing a sign of any stress in his words nor in his posture. Keilah stepped forward and stares right in Sanchez's eyes.
"Captain, Sickbay and it's personel will be ready to receive wounded and will look after them and ofcourse cure them, no officer may die on my watch!"
With those words keilah stepped back and heads for the turbolift, but before he steps inside he turns around.
"Before I leave captain, I have a small favour to ask. Could you send someone from Engineering to Sickbay, we are put in a difficult situation with no power and only emergency lights on. Ofcourse our services are still garanteed but we will work more efficiently when the repairs are done "
Keilah turns around, as the turbolift had just arrived to take him to Sickbay
Mr Dalon, Engage!
OFF: Thanks!
"Nurse, give this man 25cc of Melorazine and make him ready for surgery"
At that moment, one of the main-consoles in sickbay blew. Several officers, including medical personel, were wounded and showed massive burns. The fire that started, extended and had to be contained before it could destroy sickbay. Keilah was trapped between the fire and other consoles, so he was hoping for a miracle. It seemed that the automatic fire-extinguishing system didn't work....
"It's getting hot in here!....Dr Hannah...were are you! DR!"
Keilah couldn't see a glimp of his companion, but was hoping that he was still alive. Maybe he could reach for that console and activate the emergency system...or maybe the bridgecrew notices it, though many sensors were damaged due to the attacks earlier that day.
"Help! Can someone hear me!"
=^= Sanchez to away team =^=
Please meet me and Mr. Dalon at the station's embassy. I'm sure there we can find a suitable place to meet our new friends.

*Sanchez and Dalon walk into the turbolift, and shortly later arrive at the docking hatch where they step onto the station. The station is yet in a mess, and people are performing repairs everywhere, but it wasn't as bad as Sanchez had feared, and he was glad that the damage had been limited over here.*
"Computer, locate the main staff of the station."
Computer: "The senior officers are currently in the Bar & Grill facility of Deep Space 12."
"Thank you. Come, Dalon, let's go there and ask their permission to use the embassy facilities."
OFF: please go to the Omega division board ( http://www.expansionfleet.net/cgi-bin/omega/ikonboard.cgi ) and create your character there. You'll find an Embassy forum, where I will create a topic you can reply to. Please post there until we get back to the ship. Thanks
"Aye aye, sir."
*Takes the navagation station*
I'm not detecting the fleet's ships on passive mode, sir. This means that neither can the Romulans, unless they start an active scan, but that would be illogical, since they would have given away their position by doing so.
OFF: Do we have a scientific officer? I used to have access to the science sensor array while we had none...
=^= Fleet Captain Keach to DS12 convoy group =^=
I believe all ships are in position, so keep a look out for the Romulan Coalition's ships. We are recieving technical data from the infiltration team and it shows that we are almost ready for the ships to enter within weapons range. Although I hope we never have to fire upon the station, I remind you that you only shoot when fired on. Good luck to us all and see you on the other side
=^= Keach out =^=
AT YOUR ORDERS CAPTAIN!
(salutes as he stands)
(sorry for delay.)
Nick Brooks: "Captain, what is it?"
Sanchez keeps staring at the viewscreen.
"Commander, do you believe in coincidence? Because whoever their Sordinan gods may be in the Quantum Singularity Network, it was not by mere accident that this ship got here to help us when the need was the most. Perhaps there are some Gods in that singularity network after all... somehow."
Then he offers a smile and turns to his seat.
"All decks, battle stations once more!
Mr. Vurak, arm weapons and raise shields... or whatever we have left of that. And send a few technicians to sickbay.
Mr. Dalon, plot a course straight toward the battlefield.
Mr. Reeves, start scanning for possible cloaked ships and warn us in advance."
Then he turns to his first officer.
"Commander Brooks, you may."
OFF: Brooks, I mean you may say the word "engage" to start the last battle :P
Vurak you should be recieving these coordinates now
*Reeves transmitted the signal to the tactical station*
Captain Sanches, Lt. Dalon requesting permission to take my station.
Back to the show:
Aye Captain. I await your orders. All systems go.
"I thank you for your offer. Please allow me a minute to discuss this with my crew."
Sanchez glances at Vurak and signals him to cut the audio transmission for a moment.
"Look, everyone... I know that this is not exactly Starfleet Protocol, we shouldn't be asking or even accepting help from unknown third-parties in our battle. We know virtually nothing about them, and any Starfleet admiral would tell me not to involve them to avoid a larger interstellar conflict.
But as you all can see, we're losing the battle. Things are not going as we hoped, and soon the flagship of the Task Force Fleet will tell us to retreat, or the Romulans will destroy every last man of us. And if that happens, the station is lost as well. With the help of this unknown ship, we can make a difference. We can turn the tide of battle into our favor!"
He walked from one side of the bridge to the other, passing by each officer there, starting with Vurak Spock, who temporarily took Taurik's place at security still.
"We're going into battle... one... last... time. I know our ship is no match for anything right now, but I want us to give the very last we still got, if that can make any difference in this battle. Mr. Vurak, I depend on you to keep this ship in one piece for as long as possible... shields, weapons, structural integrity, ..."
Then he walked on to the science station of Lt. Cmdr. Reeves.
"And we will have to keep our eyes on our back, for in case a Romulan Warbird decloaks right behind us, out of nowhere... We'll have to know they're decloaking, before they even know it themselves. Mr. Reeves, I need you to be that pair of eyes on our back..."
And then he walked up to Dr. Keilah, who had just arrived on the bridge to follow Sanchez' speech.
"And though we will do the best we can, and give everything we have to defend Starfleet, and our comrades on the other ships and the station... Wounded will fall, people will be hurt or killed... And I will need you, doctor, to tend to them when the need comes, and it will be soon."
Then, at last, he walked on to the helm station of Lt. Dalon.
"As for you, Mr. Dalon, I trust on your professional navigation skills, to avoid any blows from the Romulan firepower... It will be your task, to keep the ship together for as long as possible..."
At last, he stood in front of his first officer, Commander Brooks.
"And I will need you most of all. If I fall in this battle, then I will need you to continue to the end. I will need your expertise, your help, your ideas, your strategies. Now more than ever, you will be my right hand."
Then he stood in front of the viewscreen again, and faced everyone.
"If any of you disagree with my decision to head into the fight once more, in this present condition, and to accept the help of that unknown alien ship, please say so now. Your protest will be officially noted. If you wish not to join me into this battle one last time, then I will not hold it against you. I will allow you to take a shuttle right here, and leave the ship without disgrace, and in fact even with my recommendation for a promotion at Starfleet Command, and you will be able to head away from the battle in safety.
But whatever you decide, you must decide it now. Because I am taking the ship into battle no matter what comes."
Sanchez looked at his officers, and remained silent to await their response and decision...
(Edited by Randall Sanchez at 9:32 pm on Nov. 26, 2003)
"We stand ready to assist by your side, honorable captain. May the Great Light of the Sordinan be with us all. We will speak again, after this battle is over. ASC Revox out."
And a few moments later, the ASC Revox begins to move, and heads straight for the battlefield...
*The Evolution makes an impossibly quick turn and evades the incomming fire. The Romulan ships try to come about and attack, but are left behind*
Sir, we are now in attack position.
The warp engines have been ready in case of need of escape. I have made the necessary adjustment to the targeting coordinates. Thank you Nick Brooks for your taking my place on this matter. Sickbay was taking a hit and I was trying compensate the necessary perssonnel to help Keliah out, (in this case engineering personnel became the casualty. eep.) taking but also trying to get the necessary repairs done to the warp core itself. I have left the coordinates and had to relieve tactical temporarily to Nick Brooks for which I thank graciously.
I will set coordinates for transporting of the away team. Ready and set Captain. I will currently return to getting the ship up to par for departure and work on getting necessary repair also at sick bay and other personnel. People are also sick so I wish to also concentrate on the sick bay as soon as I get necessary power returned to the engines.
Damage Report:
Tactical Systems: Functionally efficiently. Time to recalibrate a little may be needed. 90% efficient
Warp Repulsion Systems: Functioning at 65%, but will be functional when engineering staff gets working on to almost full efficiently.
Auxillary and Emergency Power is surprisingly in tact. We are in good shape and only used 10% of that energy. I hope not to tap into it once we get repairs done to the Warp Core.
Impulse Engines working at 85% efficiency
Deflecter Shields: 50% Heavy Impacts
Personnel Systems:
Life Support: 100%
SickBay: 45% Critical damage Fire Damage
Future: Install Emergency Medical Holograms (EMHS)
Transporters; 100% operational
Sensors: 100% Operational
Computer Systems are intact with minor glitches.
(Repairable)
Flight Control Systems: Navigational Deflector is working at 80% efficiently. (Damage from Singular Systems and all that close cutting maneuvarabilitiy)
Inertial Damping Field holding steady. Wow. With all that manuevarability. Geez.
Communications, Seperation Systems and the rest are in good working order. Static problem resolved due to use ofblocking of communications done by enemy interference.
(I hope I got it all. A gutsy little ship we got. I hope you don't mind me using a lot of percentages. lol.)
I will see what can be done about sick bay as well.
We need to dock for repairs REAL soon. Captain. On your orders.
(In his eyes you may see determination and direct focus, but as you look closer if upon inspection. Darker rings surface around his eyes for which brings upon from lack of rest. But you notice he is still in good form and grace, but not a wink does he show fatique. Only his eyes show what is beyond his soul................................................)

I have recalibrated the controls in order to adapt to some of the most known Romulan tactics, sir.
"Just a little more... just a little more... we can make it..."
He knew that if they would have to suffer another hit, especially at this close range, that the ship would be rendered useless and dead in the water, if not worse... but just before the Romulan ships can target and open fire, the USS Evolution reaches the opening, there to almost stand eye to eye with the S.E.V. Paladin, being chased by another Romulan warbird.
"Dalon, duck! Duck! Avoid the Paladin!"
From the shuttle...

Lighted Blessings Chief of Command and Captain of the Evolution, Mr Sanchez I believe *tilts head in respectful greeting*. I come with Her majestiys wishes offer my assistance to botht he Revox and yoru ship should u so wish it and to also investigate the damage done to our sacred place.
Her Majestiy informed the capital that your presence is welcome as long as you pay attention to the simple regulations I'm sure our efficient droids have already happily pointed out.
Permission to dock Chief of command.
I"m sure after the ram raid my sensors indicate your ship is in need of a few repairs .
Channel closed.
*sits back in his seat and watches the two ships*
"I apologize for letting you wait this long. I have spoken to my crew and my senior officers, and I have decided to accept your gracious offer. We are ready to enter the battle again, at your side. Our ship's condition is anything but optimal, but my competent officers will one by one compensate for that, and we stand ready to give our best, to the very end.
Normally I should not do something like this, according to Starfleet protocol, and I may get seriously sanctioned by my own senior officers once all this is over, but let me teach you a human saying we have here that's used sometimes: to #### with protocol!"
*The pair leaves the bridge towards transporter room three*
"Then you surely wouldn't have won the drinking contest, commander. Permission granted, as I'd like you in top condition when we are about to engage the Romulans."
*turns to Vurak*
"I haven't had the opportunity to get to know Admiral T'Hain very well myself either, but they told us about the things he did in his life, and they were all very commending."

Captain. I have not received any communications from the Away team. I am trying to work out the static from a hail signal from the main ship for which you are being frequencied. Be from the looks of it. It's going to a dead even fight!! I will scan for cloaking deviced ships as you approach them.

(Edited by Randall Sanchez at 12:29 pm on Dec. 7, 2003)
Captain, I have completed the recalibration to the sensors and also targetting should respond faster now.
Meanwhile, another Starfleet vessel, Paladin, joins the Task Force Fleet, hails the USS Sequoia, thereafter moves into formation and activates its Phase Cloak.
(Edited by Randall Sanchez at 9:43 pm on Oct. 16, 2003)
"Are they opening fire on the ship that is delivering the infiltration team? But they should be cloaked!"
"All hands to battlestations, the attack is now underway. Proceed as planned and take out those Romulan fighters, and help us from getting fried"
=A= End of message =A=
OFF: A bit late :$
*he looks down to read the console*
Additional info- the network is also releasing small amounts of Kreeger Waves
they are Artificially generated by aliens. Nature unknown. The waves Eat holes in walls and decks; could possibly rip the ship apart if our shields fail.
Starfleet needs our help.
Helm standing by sir. Recalibration complete.
"Indeed, I don't like the waiting. Every moment we wait, is time for those Romulans to crack the station's computer systems and get their hands on important, strategically valuable data on Starfleet. Not all that comforting, really. But then again, all we can do is wait until the time is right to attack. The infiltration team needs time to do their work too."
OFF: now this is where you can let your imagination go crazy. There will be no actual people posting for the Romulans, so imagine any attacks as you wish
*Runs over to the tactical station*
Firing full spead...Their shields are weak on the port side, down to 33%. Mr Dalon, try and keep to their port!
"Computer, open incoming channel."
*And seconds later, the face of Admiral Vorak appears*
Hm...
Implant an virus not to destroy the file, but to actually divert their attention away from the critical files and provide a way to divert their attention for the time being until the Away Team can make their move.......................It's only an idea, Sir..
I can work on a program for this, but assistance may be needed. Captain and the crew, It's your decision if you wish to pursue this course of action. I apologize if I may have been a bit forward towards your emotions, Captain, but I was only concerned for your well-being.
Captain, I will be momentarily disengaging the inertial dampeners. I suggest you hold on to something.
*Dalon presses a command and the dampeners are turned off for some seconds. during that time the ship turns 180 degrees to face the back of the romulan fighters while still going "foward". the dampeners are turned back on. the sensation was a bit discomfortable, like being in a roller coaster*
Mr. Vurak, I suggest firing at those fighters before they can turn and face us again.
"I knew I could count on you."
Then he looks at Vurak Spock and at Dr. Keilah.
"So what do you two say?"
(Edited by Randall Sanchez at 9:24 pm on Nov. 26, 2003)
I will compensate the loss of maneuverability now. *enters commands on his console*
(As the story goes, Vurak reads on the computer his current diagnosis of the Warp Core. He notices that interesting energy flux that was detected in the warp core as it fluctuates briefly then returns to normal flow. He makes note of this strange flux in his notes and tucks it away for a later date as he continues assisting with the repairs of the ship and once again pulls an all nighter as our vulcan friend works with eyes of deep shadow and tireless determination. No rest for the weary indeed...............................)
I am aware that the U.S.S. Evolution is not constructed for battle, but I rely on your skills to take the best out of your ship, as it will be necessary to fight this time.
One of our distant outposts, Deep Space 12, has been under attack by a Romulan Coalition. They do not work for the Romulan Star Empire, but the official government does not appear to care for this threat of Romulan pirates. The things became worse, when the Romulans actually managed to take control over the federation station DS12, which is why their ships have travelled to station Avalon and are docked here.
I will, along with admiral Karelia and some other officers, infiltrate into DS12 as Romulans, and prepare to disarm them as much as possible. Meanwhile, a fleet of ships will head to DS12 to attack the Romulan vessels and take the station back. The USS Evolution will be one of the ships of this task force fleet.
Understand me well, captain, this mission is of uppermost importance. These Romulans may NOT tap into our databanks and access our secret information sources. We must prevent that at all costs. Even if it means we must destroy the station itself.
Prepare your ship for battle, and be ready for when the fleet departs.
Vorak out."
*turns to the captain*
Captain, another thing has just crossed my mind. I was reading about romulan combat techniques and found out that they are known to use cloaked minefields to protect colonies and starbases.
We could search for indications of those mines as well if you wish, sir.
*the Evolution dodges some lightnings in the plasma storm and darts to the rim of the QSN, with the Romulan ship right onit's toes, until on the last moment, as it is already charging it's weapons again, a burst of plasma engulfs the enemy vessel and the Evolution comes out of the QSN*
We are out of the Singularity Network, sir. 23.4% damage to impulse engines.
I am honored by your words Captain. You shall not be... disappointed.
I will recalibrate the navigational controls. I believe I have found a way to improve our efficiency by 30% or more.
"Mr. Brooks, Mr. Vurak, Mr. Taurik, and everyone else... we are soon to embark on an unusual mission. This time no scientific research or deep space exploration. This time we will have to pull our guns. We have to free station Deep Space 12 from Romulans, who captured this outpost. We'll be going along with a whole fleet of ships. So I want system diagnostics to be completed on every system, and the whole ship to be ready in perfect condition.
Mr. Vurak, is engineering working in perfect order? I dont want to fall without warp capabilities in the midst of the battle.
Mr. Taurik, I want you to prepare the whole ship for battle, and check that all weapon and defence systems are in perfect order.
Mr. Brooks, I would like you to create a report of possible battle strategies, of how we can fight Romulans on their ships, and also on a station of our own - hopefully without having to damage or destroy the station itself.
Mr. Reeves, I am aware that those Romulans must use cloaking devices for their ships. I count on you to reallign our sensors, so that we can quickly pick up any trail of cloaked Romulan ships.
Anybody any questions?"
"Please accept my apologies then, Ms. Connor." He looks at the viewscreen for a moment, to see that the fleet is leaving the station and heading for warp speed.
"Set course to Deep Space 12, maximum warp. Keep the ship near the fleet."
At that point, the ship starts trembling heavily. The lights go out for a moment, but then reactivate, and the alert claxons blaze. Another shockwave hits the USS Evolution, draining the shields dramatically.
"All decks, damage report! Put on screen what's going on out there!"
But when Sanchez looks at the viewscreen, he wishes he hadnt... the Romulan ship may have lost its warp drive, but not its weapon systems, and decided to fire randomly inside the Quantum Singularity Network, causing distortion to the singularities, as if a huge plasma storm is awakening-and getting worse.
Again the Romulan ship fires, and again flashes of energy dance through the singularity network, hitting the USS Evolution most severely.
"Mr. Dalon, avoid those impacts!
Mr. Vurak, all power to the shields!
Mr. Reeves, what do you suggest we do now?"
OFF: the intention is that we have no choice but to leave from the QSN again, and then I have a surprise for you all
Captain, I will gladly go with you and this ship.
*turns his attention to the console*
I have the ship on cloak detection, maybe that will work alright.
*looks back at Captain Sanchez and over to Lt. Dalon*
good luck to us all.
*Walks in the turbolift*
Deck 4.
"Aye aye, Sir plotting course..."
"Course layed in."
"We're heading for a collission course, so I doubt that in a few moments, there will be anything left of us to cure... I'm sorry doctor, sometimes things need to be done... Sanchez out."
Then he sits down and grips his chair arms firmly, while facing the viewscreen.
"Mr. Dalon... engage!"
OFF: from this point, it continues on the Omega board, embassy forum.
*walks up to a console*
I will start with the sensors. This may take a few minutes, then I will relay the sensor information to Mr. Taurik so that he can realign the targetting sensors.
All tactical systems up and running, Captain.
Full speed ahed, collision course set.
*the ship darts towards the Romulan warbird*
Hmmm (then out loud)
that should work, but if we send a tachion beam in their vicinity they will surely be made aware of our position, I suggest narrowing the targetting beam, that should limit the exposure and allow the beam to be transmitted without detection.
*Keilah saw several officers entering sickbay again*
"Allright, biobeds 7, 8 and 10 are free please go there and await treatment!"
*Keilah walks over to the other medical personel*
"Allright, we need to treat the people who have serious injuries first! the people with minor injuries will have to wait and make place for more wounded people. I am sure there will be more! In the mean time, we need to diagnose and treat them without help from the computer. We were trained for this! So let's go and help them, we will not lose someone on our watch!"
"FIRE! Now!!! Mr. Dalon, evasive maneuvres, don't let those Romulans get at us!"
Permission to dock is granted, Our home is your home. Please report to dockingbay 1.
For any of your repair needs feel free to ask any of my repair team for help. I also believe there is a conferencing room available for your meeting with the aliens
=^= DS12 out =^=
If I may offer what little knowledge I have assembled about humans, lieutenant, I would say that the captain is undergoing an emotional response to the stress of waiting for the imminent attack. I think the humans call it anxiety...
*turns to the captain*
Sir, still no signs of romulan ships. I can formulate two hypothesis: The ships are either waiting for us to make the first move or there are no ships at all.
If you wish sir, I could help Mr. Reeves (OFF: Sorry but I don't know your rank) to scan the area for cloaked ships using a tightly focused tachion beam. We could also coordinate this search with other vessels of the fleet, in order to increase our chance of finding the ships, should there be any.
Sanchez glares at the viewscreen as the stars become visible again, and the QSN clears away... and what's more: the Romulan warbird in front of them. For some long moments - they seemed to take hours though it was only a matter of seconds - he contemplated on what to do.
And he knew he had no choice this time. It was a decision he had always known that it would one day perhaps be necessary to take, ever since he became captain. Now this moment had come. There was no other option left... they could not run away from the Romulan ship in this condition, they could not fight either, and hiding in the QSN was no longer an option either... so there was only one last resort...
Sanchez got up from his seat, stretched his uniform shirt and gave the final order...
"Mr. Dalon, set a collision course straight toward the Romulan ship, maximum speed possible in this short distance... we're about to ram them!"
OFF: dont worry its all part of the plan
That makes 3 ships closing in sir!
(a note is found.)
To the Captain and Crew:
Enjoy the relaxation of your well earned rest. I will continue with the repairs of this ship with engineering crew and seek out help from the our new allies whose knowledge will be worth investing time in. Thank you my friends. Enjoy your rest. LIve long and prosper as always.
Vurak Spock
Contact me shall you have need of me. I shall be with the repair crew on the U.S.S. Evolution.
Sir, the Tiberon and Sequoia report ready.
Commander Brooks comes in and hands the captain a padd with crewlists.
"Hmm, it appears that our trusted security officer, Taurik, has gone to Vulcan for... emm.. Ponn Farr. So we are without security officer at the moment. Anyone who can take his place for now?"
Captain, I believe you are a bit agitated. Are you having doubts about the situation.
CAPTAIN! I am picking up on short range sensor an impulse drive readings coming from the rear of the ship. Captain. They are decloaking! Three Romulan Warbirds hot on our tail. Captain. I suggest we hop into warp drive at your command. I can focus our beams weapons to hit one of the warbirds to delay long enough for us to warp out of here. Your call. Captain.
*presses command on his console and the ship goes to warp, heading for the battlegound*
*ten minutes later*
Sir, we have arrived at the DS12 sector, enemy ships have detected us and are closing in.
I don't have a problem with that. Captain, with your permission we will go and get ready.
