This is the Research Facility construction site, after reporting here, please proceed to the appropriate buildings so that you can work on their assembly.
The firs priority is the Astrometrics Station, located near the western end of the base. I have chosen that place because it needs to be isolated from any field interference. Also, it is located on higher grounds.
Then proceed to the Warp Field Research Lab and after that as you please to the other facilities.
I to was once a lt commander.. no wait .. no I wasn't.. heh no.. yes yes I was.. about 200 years ago.
Very Impressive captain, perhaps many of the work found by our own science station could be shown here. have you been in touch with them lately?
Welcome Fleet Captain! I am happy that you arrived. Perhaps we could discuss tomorrow the instalation of the emergency transporters on the science facilities...
*turns to Nocturnus and Ayala*
The new Starfleet Building Security Directives mandates that all Facilities that are destined to hazardous research have such transporters...
This is indeed a good idea Captain. I also do not know the local tavern yet.
My apologies, I had to tend to greeting some new personal and then i had to stop by the Medical Bay to get my checkup.
*follows the captain*
We'll have quite a handfull of work here...
Admiral, Ms. Ayala, I believe there will not be much to see, actually, since most of our equipment is on it's way here aboard the Lancelot... But I can show you what we already have and where our laboratories will be installed.
*enters code on the door's acces pannel*
If you please folow me...
*enters a big hall, with some crates and a computer installed on the wall*
This is the main research facility. In fact, this hall is intended to be a small museum, a place to display any archaeological findings that have already been studied and catalogued... This planet seems to have a rather large amount or possible archaeological sites and Lt. Cmdr. Stuart is the one in charge of that department.
This area could also be used for some cultural events tht would require a larger space than that provided by the base's bar. Of course we could use a holodeck, but I believe that real ambients are an important part of the experience.
To our left is the turbolift tht leads to the second floor. There we will see where my lab will be.
Any questions so far?

Greetings Gentlemens, and Lady. I am Fleet Captain Skol, recently appointed to be this Station new Chief of Operations, for those who do not know me yet. I apologise for being late for I was still being seattled at my office. Altought we both arrived almost at the same time at the Starphoenix Planetary base, I welcome you Admiral Nocturnus.
Have a nice checkup, Mr. Stuart... and remember we have a meeting tomorrow with Captain mah'GNUs about the sensor array!
*turns to the visitors*
Well, shall we proceed with the visit?
We have briefly discussed the construction of the base's sensor array and forcefeeld, and the Emergency transporters, Fleet Admiral Nocturnus had two good ideas, about the latter. Working together with the Avalon engineers, and developing personal transporter devices into the com unit.
Not so complex, since I designed it myself, but we will need a special power grid and a lot of care when we instal the anti-matter tank...
As for the force field Captain mah'GNUs mentioned, I have already asked Lt. Cmdr. Stuart to see what parts of it we already have. There are only a few components that will have to be brought from Avalon, but I am sure that the field will be in place in no time after we get the parts.
*goes to the computer console on the wall*
Computer, display the image of the experimental warp core from the recordings of the experimental warp core program on holosuite one. Authorization Assis-2643-Kappa.
*computer beeps and a picture appears on the screen. it is quite similar to the main engineering of a ship, but the core is smaller and there are two small nacelles in front of it, some twenty meters away*
See Admiral, Ms. Mirez... This is how the roome will look like when we finish installing everything! Beautiful, huh?
Indeed.
Hmm? Well, putting protocol aside, I believe that Mr Heimdal has some quantities of this.. illegal substance.
But, due to it's rather .. intoxicating properties, is it a good idea.. With all respec, I was thinking of the inspection Fleet Admiral.
*leaves for the Pixies*
OFF: This will now continue at the Pixies thread
There, there! This will help me keep track of all the comm. I just wish they install the computer core asap, so I can put the computer on voice command mode... *sighs*
Captain Assis, is that you?
Oh dear Lord... Admiral!! I did not know that you were comming here! If I knew I would dress more formally.
*tries to look respectfully*
Be welcome to our Science Facility, Sir!
(Edited by James Stuart Junior at 2:06 am on April 20, 2003)
Yes, this is one of our priority projects Fleet Admiral, together with the base force feeld it will be the foundation of our defences here on Dantor.
Fleet Captain Skol. *nods*
*he nods and exits the room*
(Edited by James Stuart Junior at 11:49 pm on April 20, 2003)
Well, if there are no further questions, let's proceed to the second floor, where the Warp Field Research Laboratory will be installed once my experimental warp core arrives.
By the way Admiral, I would like to discuss with you on a later ocasion if Starfleet could send me an old Oberth Class ship, for the final steps of my research.
This way, please...
*heads to the turbolift. after everyone in he says*
Second floor. Security clearance Assis-Alpha-5-8-9
Clearance accepted
*the turbolift starts moving*
That, Ms. Ayala, is a specially designed intermix control console, but it is not fully assembled yet. Without getting too technical, I, or more precisely my assistent SARAH, will use this to adjust the intermix formula in real time. That means that she will be able to adjust the amount of matter and anti-matter that goes into the core and the way they pass through the dilithium crystals... This is important to help me control the way the subspace field is created, but I can't explain any more without giving a lecture on General Relativity and Advanced Warp Field Theory... *smiles friendly*
I believe you will like to meet SARAH when we go to the bar...
*turns to the officers*
And right there will be installed my experimental warp core. As I said before, the simulations I ran gave me some interesting data to work on and I hope that within six months or so, maybe less, I will be able to test the core design on a real ship! Most exciting... *smiles*
Putting protocol aside, I wonder if we have a smart officer here who has managed to procure Romulan ale.
A glass or 3 of ale is not going to kill us.. no?
That is a bit illogical of you Admiral.
Well... Going to get some sleep... I hope that the engeneers call me soon...
*Leaves for his quarters*
And this is Lt. Cmdr. James Stuart Junior, responsible for the archaeology department and for the astrometrics sensor array, which is a project that I and Captain mah'GNUs are working on and will be completed after the Lancelot deploys the sensor probes around the planet.
I was about to analyse the data I collected from the simulation whe you arrive, sir. I believe you are aware of the nature of my research...
One moment plz captain.
*turns to computer*
Computer recognize authority.
Computer: Fleet Admiral Nocturnus, Expansion XO . Acknowledged.
Download sensor array data to this minidisc.
Computer:confirmed, download in progress. complete.
Perhaps our engineers would be useful in the implemtntation of emergency transporters.. not just in hazardous situations, perhaps togather we could build personal transporter devices into the com unit.
*Turns to Captain Assis and Fleet Admiral Nocturnus*
Mr Heimdal once told me. "Times flies when you are having fun." If Fleet Admiral Nocturnus and Captain Assis is pleased with the tour of the Science facility we should consider getting some flood an drinks, so that we may have time to visist the Medical facility before dark.
Fleet Admiral?
(Edited by Skol at 9:21 pm on April 26, 2003)
Gentlemen, Ms. Mirez... Shall we proceed to the Pixies, then?
