Post by: Tammy Sullivan on September 11, 2002, 09:30:24 PM
*Tammy pokes Mr Winterspoon.*
"And what about a Chouchenn?"
*Dalen raises one eyebrow.*
"Do you believe they have REAL Hydromel, on the Station?"
"I don't know, General. But the Irish Girl sleeping in me WANTS Hydromel. *determined face* Where is the Ten Forwards, here?! *Looking pitily to Admiral Vorak.* Please, Admiral."

Sir I don't want to sound like a corps officer but destroying the comet is easier and les dangers than keeping it for I scan or two.
With all starships working together we could destroy it!

"Incoming message from Mahor Senior Winterspoon, Brendan."
*Man Tuil's heart misses a beat.*
"Ah-ah! On screen"
<Corporation Transmissions>
Mr Man Tuil, you will have to report for desobeying me in your previous mission. Anyway, it's good to have you here. This Comet MUST NOT reach Avalon Station at any Cost. You and the Revanche will be the FIRSTS, and I insist on that adjective, to hit the Comet.
Don't spare torpedoes, disruptors or dissociers. We need to protect these StarFleet pals.
Engage the Comet at ONCE!
The Salute will fire then to open a hole in the Comet.
And the Whallalah will finish this fu*^$$ing Comet.
Winterspoon OUT!
<End Transmissions>
*Man Tuil breathes*
"Okay, now, it's clear. We have our orders. Lynn, full conventional speed. Olgar, dissocier energy? Ka'Lar, prepare your weapons!"

I will make It a point to talk about that comet thing.
But as you know the coperation and Starfleet want to make a alliance we need to talk about the terms for the alliance.

"Well, Admiral, I take your invitation for your word. In fact, I'm a bit thirsty. Where can we have some Whiskey or Scotch, I mean TRUE Whiskey or TRUE Scotch, in your Station?"
*Dalen wanted to relax a bit. Problems + problems, for him, equal stress. He wanted to sit in a good ambiance and breathe. The Solinor Problem and the Hogun Problem, together, mwellll, it was SOMETHING, at least!*

Mr.winterspoon i will order the CIB ship to keep a lock on use in case starfleet are to slow.
in the 23th century your species used this class of starbase already this design is old no wonder you nearly lost the dominion war admirals.

Times have changed and if you dont walk with time it will destroy you!
dont you agree winterspoon?

*Olgar reported*
"About two hundred thousands terawatts at your disposal, Brendan."
"Very good!" Man Tuil eructed.
*Kalar does not hesitate too*
"Comet is in range, Captain. Ready to open fire."
"Good!" *Man Tuil regained his determinated face* "Attention, Bridge! Red alert! At your Combat Position!"
*Everyone sits at respective position. Man Tuil checks... then.*
"Tactical, open fire! Qa'Pla!"
"Qa'Pla, Captain!" *And Ka'lar pushes only ONE button*

*One second later, 50 Photon Torpedoes and 4 Quantum Torpedoes rushed to the Comet, while 22 Disruptors Rays were spiting fire. But, more, two blinding pure white color rays were also digging and cutting in the surface of the Comet.*

*Admiral Vorak frowns*

"Indeed I have noticed that your Senior Major, Mr. Winterspoon, has returned to take a... break, rather urgently.  I believe I may have offended him and his actions to help us by destroying the comet, because it was my wish to examine the comet first and possibly redirect its course.
It was certainly not my intention to offend him, may you send him my sincere apologies, Mr. De Heer? I certainly hope this will not interfere with a future alliance between your Corporation and my fleet."

I am due to return soon, I am on my way with the USS Skytoucher as we speak.

A few orders to keep in mind... I have read in the FleetNews that the Academy was closed due to lack of interest.  If I am not mistaken, one cadet should have reported in there by now so I hereby declare it reopened and I wish to see the Academy commanding personell be active in that section again upon my arrival.

Live long and prosper.

"I most appreciate your efforts to help us in this, people of the Corporation, however, I ask of you not to destroy it as long as other possibilties exist.  I have the station, and two ships, working on it to divert the comet's course.
Give them a chance to proceed with their plans, and if the danger point is crossed and the plan fails, then I will not object to destroying the comet.
I believe that is the most logical course of action."

To meet new species and to explore space.
But we do seek out stability and control of space we control.
We don't want enemy's fighting near our homes so we do everything to keep them out.
But we now there are limits to control but order is the basic of every good empire or federation.

*On the Bridge of the Ship-of-Death Whallalah....
Dalen Winterspoon has his eyes wide opened. He can not believe what he can see on the screen. Even Tammy Sullivan has kept her mouth opened.*
"Boss?" *she finally asks*
"Uh... Yes, Tammy?"
"You see what I see?"
"THAT is a Station! Yes, I see what you see."
"But it's enormous! It is certainly bigger than Kythal or Odessa.... Owwmygawwwwdd!"
*Yes, it was. Avalon Station was ONE Station. Tammy was right. How much credits StarFleet spent in building this Station. Unbelievable!*
"Let's keep cool, Tammy, okay? Breathe, breathe.... I breathe."
"Yes, bos, yes, boss. But THAT is a Station. And look at their Docking Bays. The Whallallah will be capable of entering Avalon without much manoeuvring procedures. Wow!"
*The Corporation Members were really impressed. But there is something that attracted suddendly the Corporation Major Senior's attention. Such a huge base... And so few ships. Apart the SkyToucher, there was no other noticeable Ship... What the #### is that?*

*the admiral was pushing several buttons and saw the new officer in OPS*

Hello Mr Knight, welcome to OPS. This is not my usual station but I am Admiral Montrell, I will help if the normal crew is on an away mission.
But if you excuse me I have some important calculations to do.

*The admiral turned away from the Commander and started working again*

When this comet is in range, the weapons will fire and try to change the heading of the comet.

But may I ask why you want it in on piece??
It could cost this station and everyone on it!

"Brendan, there is something wrong in the Subtrans."
*Captain Man Tuil, concentrated on his strategy, did not pay attention to what his helm was saying. Lynn repeated and finally Man Tuil looked at her.*
"What is the problem?"
"Athena has detected some sort of intrusion in the datas transfert in the StarFleet Systems. She has automatically engaged her protections systems and now is trying to locate the intruder."
"HEH! Athena is helping Avalon Station's Computers?"
"Myep!"
"She is not supposed to do that, right?"

*Ms Sullivan does not hesitate a bit.*
"Okay, boss! Full speed.... now!"
*Turns to Mr Hirohito.*
"Mr Hirohito, full Phase Cloack, planet mode on. Target this Comet with Torpedoes, Warheads and Disruptors. When I say "Fire!", you open fire. Do you copy?"

"It is very noble indeed to save the lives of everyone on board this station, but at least as many life forms may have been on board inside the comet, that are now killed.  Without even one attempt to rescue them first.  That is most illogical."

"Yes, please do extend my apologies.
As for the alliance, I am certainly willing to discuss terms.  I am unsure if you are aware of the main policy of Starfleet, 'to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations', so in short we are a union of explorers.  What are the basics of your Corporation?"
Title: Mission 4: Return of the Admiral
Post by: Vorak on September 09, 2002, 09:26:14 PM
Welcome to Station Avalon, Mr. Winterspoon.

It is the headquarters of my fleet.  As you can see, it is not yet a large fleet.  The USS Skytoucher is the flagship.  The USS Evolution is currently on an away mission, but generally the station is strong enough to defend itself against a fleet of ships.  Feel free to tap into our computer and check the technical data on the station, and you will see its strenght and firepower.

The large ship you see docked at the other end, is a newly commissioned freighter, the USS Lancelot. The fact that it is still not undocked, means that it does not have a full crew complement yet.  Perhaps it would be interesting to have both Starfleet as Corporation crewmembers on it, in the future?

Title: Mission 4: Return of the Admiral
Post by: Vorak on September 13, 2002, 02:48:19 PM
OFF: Admiral Vorak is giving the Corporation officers a tour around the ship, so he cannot know that a comet is finding its way toward station Avalon. The only ones who can is those who man the station's Ops at the moment... where are they?

"Indeed, we have a bar named Celtic Corner.  I myself do rarely visit the particular location, but I shall assist you there, if you wish.  Please follow me."

*Incurving its route, the Comet emitted a strong flow of flames. Then, it started to roll around its own axe, gaining more speed. The boiling sphere, by the event of the Universal Gravity is suddendly attracted by the Avalon celestial object. And the velocity of the Comet is exponentially increasing.
It reaches progressively Warp 1 and run to Avalon Base.*

"Gosh and d*mnation! It has been a long journey to enter this sector! Olgar, tell me... Is our grmurmle! of Comet really here?"
*Olgar was checking.*
"I give you that in some seconds, Brendy."
*Man Tuil sighs*
"Your human part has a boring sense of humour, you know that, my Klingon Pal?"
Olgar, proud or him : "Yes, Captain! And I like that. This part gives me more valiance during battle... By the way, if you wanted to know if our target is in the sector, the answer is : 'YES!'. You want we to go shoot it?"
"Of course, that's why we are here."
*Lynn gestures to everyone on the Bridge.*
"Ermmm, do you see what I see on the Screen?"
*Everyone looks*
"UH OH!" *Man Tuil does not enjoy the situation.*
"All right. One fight again! Pilot our Revanche on that target, Ms HeartGrave. I need some action." *With that, Ka'Lar returned to her console.*
Harris, not feeling well : "Errr, buddies, am I mistaking or is this Comet running right onto this Station?"
*No one replies*
Man Tuil : "Lynn, at full conventional speed, please. I think we will have no time enough to enter details."
Lynn Heartgrave : "And you think I do not know THAT?"

"If destroying the comet is the only way, then I certainly opt for it too, logically.  However, logic dictates that it is illogical to destroy that what does not poses danger, and if there are less destructive options to explore first.  This comet may be a very good scientific chance to study a volcanic comet.  In fact, it is our first chance."

Mr Hirohito, I count on you to use our main weapons on the Coment at my orders."

*Ka'Lar nodded*
"Yes, Sir. Deflectors coupled with Disruptors. Ready to open fire. Olgar, how are our Dissociers?"
"Sorry, Commander, but recharching... One hundred thousands terawatts just reached."
"That will suffice, I think. Captain?"
*Man Tuil has a small hesitation.*
"Listen, Ka'Lar. Our Dissociers are prototype, for us. I don't know if these Zygon Armaments will not breake."
"Reason to try them more. We have still Tools to repair them, Captain, with due respect."
*Man Tuil smiled*
"All right. Open fire at will!"
"Qa'Pla, Captain! Olgar? How many?"
"Only one hundred twenty thousands."
*Ka'Lar has a Tiger Smile*
"That will be enough."

*One second later, 60 Photon Torpedoes and 14 Quantum Torpedoes rushed to the Comet, while 22 Disruptors Rays were spiting fire. And, again, two blinding pure white color rays crashed on the Comet.*

"Hummmmm." *Dalen was seriously doubting that the armament of the Station Avalon could suffice to destroy this bloody Comet. He was a bit anxious. As far he had understood from the events, these StarFleet Officers did not realise the danger of a Vulcano Comet.*
"MISTERS!" *he shouted to attract attention* "You don't even have an idea of the peril you could face if your tried to capture this UNSTABLE Comet. This would explode at any moment.
Well, I don't know what are transphasic torpedoes, but for one thing I am sure of is that the Whallalah has sufficient armament to help you to destroy this Comet.
My idea is that you send as many salvos of quantum torpedoes as you can in a row to the Comet and let the Whallalah finish destroying it with her weapons."
*Dalen has a look around him....*
///Okay, Tammy is still here. Mr Hirohito, too...But, holy galaxy, where is Mr de Heer?///
"Mr de Heer! Mr de Heer! We are returning to the Whallalah. We need to help these Starfleet pals! *Looking at Tammy* Any idea of where he could have been?"

Mr de Heer, join your Ship, now and prepare to engage the Comet if it wants to explode.

"Most interesting indeed.  But sometimes it may go beyond control, and the line between friends and enemies can sometimes be very thin.

Imagine that the Gorn is your enemy.  Yet, one Gorn ship is near your borders and clearly in distress because it is being sicked in a black hole.  It sends out a distress call and your ship is the only one near enough to be in time to help.  If you do not help, the Gorn will be destroyed.
Now answer me truthfully, will you help this Gorn ship in that case, even if the Gorn is considered your enemy?"

*At some hundreds light-years of Avalon Station, a sort of yellow-orange sparkle could be seen. This sparkle was rapidely moving. And, while it was moving, its structure and form were slowly appearing.
This sparkle was in fact a big celestial object. This object was certainly burning inside. Like if fire was light in its rock-metal shape.
This sparkle grew, as it was moving. And, at one moment, this sparkle became the object it really was : a dangerous boiling rock/metal comet of about one kilometer of diameter moving at an incredible speed...
Right in direction of Avalon Base.*

Post by: Vorak on September 17, 2002, 02:16:30 PM
Admiral Vorak to science department, please take as many sensor readings of this unusual comet as possible.

Admiral Vorak to tactical department, does the station have sufficient firepower to destroy the comet if all other plans fail?

*turns to Nocturnus and Montrell*
There may be a way not to destroy this comet.  A tractor beam.  Of course, a tractor beam of the station will only pull the comet closer instead of further away into another course.  However, the USS Skytoucher and USS Lancelot are currently in orbit around the station, and they both have tractor beam available.  Given the correctly calculated location, and the correct tractor beam strength, both ships could alter the course of the comet so it will not collide with the station, whereafter we can conduct scientific research on the comet, which will be useful for in case we meet another such comet again in the future.
What do you think?

"Can you rephrase that, Mr de Heer... Sometimes, your Basic is a mess to understand. If you were suggesting that your Ship could lock this Comet, it was a good idea.
If I understand well *looks at the datas over the shoulders of Montrell*, ah yes it is one again, it's a vulcanoid comet. We had already that when we installed KeyHole. Mr Montrell, if you have Quantum Torpedoes, it would be wise to send some on this Comet ... or I do not respond of the destruction of your Base. You want Mr de Heer to help you?"
*Dalen winks to Geert and whispers.* "Maybe time to show them what a Corp Warrior can do. The Salute is over there?"

Admiral Vorak that was my intention.

Why destroy something before we get a chance.  If we fire enough firepowre at it.. not to destroy but nudge it slightly.  I'm sure your familer with the old pinball games where you could tilt?

Tilt it of course. while it passes by we have the best chance to study it.  And yes we have sufficient stock to launch the attack you plan sir.

Indeed that is most unusual, and needs closer investigation, before we take any action.
If there is sentient life inside that comet, I wish to know their reasons for this course, and if they are even aware for sure that they will hit our station. I will not kill those life forms on board, if there are any, and if necessary, we beam them off the comet before destroying it.
I will send the USS Skytoucher to have a closer look.

=^= Admiral Vorak to USS Skytoucher =^=

Our long range sensors have discovered this is not a normal comet, but one that is being controlled by thrusters that send the comet into the direction of station Avalon.
Please set course to the current location of the comet, at your best speed, and take close range scanners.

Attempt to discover if there are life forms inside the comet, and if so, try to contact them.  If necessary, beam them over to the station, but do not destroy the comet unless I order you to.

=^= Vorak out =^=

Geert this ship opened fire on the comet.
The Constitution SALUTE opened fire with everything she had.
Phasers fired and all torpedoes begun to destroy the comet.
Winterspoon if we set all ships deflectors on this modification we could destroy the comet faster than with normal weapons.
* geert sanded the data to the all ships *

The coperation is growing in this quadrant so is Starfleet.
As you already know there are many treat's in this quadrant so both sides need a ally just in chase.
Starfleet and the coperation are still trying to recover from the last war and you need a ally and we ally so it's a means to a end.

Mr. Winterspoon, would you like to come on board the station with me and your colleagues?  You shall have a tour around the station, if you like.

"Okay, guys, we are approaching! Ka'Lar, is the target in range?"
*The Klingon Tactical Officer checks some datas*
"Yes, Captain!"
"Oooookay! Olgar, initiate our Dissociers Cannons. I want a direct and strong hit on the Comet. Either it will modify its way or it will be enough damaged so that the nucleon lava will flee from the Comet and the Shieldsand Armaments of the Base will make it with."
*The Klingon Science Officer's fingers are flying over the padds. In a sudden, you can hear a humming of an hidden powerful device....*
"Our Zygon Dissociers are online.... Fluxes are increasing... Already one hundred ten thousands terawatts at your disposal... And increasing..."
"Marvellous! Lynn, open a channel and warn the StarFleet station we have arrived to help them."
"Okay, Brendan... One detail : I have scanned the sector and I notice that the Whallalah is here and there is one CIB Ship, too... So, what do we do?"
"Well, I think I will have to report before Mr Winterspoon and be grounded to be a bad boy, but, anyway, we are here to help and we will help. So, warn them."
*Lynn grinned a bit and opened a channel.*

Admiral, I noticed a powerfailure in the shields.
But I need to check it with the readings here in OPS.
Did you also saw anything?

Post by: Geert de heer on September 21, 2002, 10:10:36 AM
Geert walked to this science officer and saw many readings on its screen.
So so the comet is not what it appears to be.

Geert to winterspoon we detected thrusters and weapons on the comet it could be a trap!
We need to send a ship to the comet and get close to the comet to make a deep scan of the comet.

///This guy is right. We could do faster!///
"Mr Hirohito, couple our deflectors with our Disruptors and open fire on the Comet, now! Use every weapon of the Whallalah (as noted in the Ship-of-Death Technicals Page) and wipe out this Comet!"
"Tammy : a channel to the Revanche and the Salute!"
"Yes, sir!"
<Corporation Transmissions>
Attention all Corporation BattleShips!
On Brigadier de Heer's suggestion, couple your deflectors with your disruptors and help the Salute to finish the Comet!
We have a negociation party on the brunch, guys! And I think it has waited too much!
Open Fire at will!
Now!

*The Whallalah has docked, Dalen activated the Auto-Protection Program of Karnilla (the Ship's computer) and they get out of the Ship.
Tammy was on his right, with a dark uniform and a holster with a strange gun on her left side.
Dalen was wearing his grey uniform with one grey cape and was looking at Mr Hirohito seriously.*
///This guy does not forgert the Security Protocols... I appreciate this attitude.///
"Well, Admiral, you are at your home, you are our host. Let's follow you. You come, Mr Hirohito? I know this young woman in an Ensign uniform is very attractive, but we have some important things to do, now."

Montrell.. lock onto the comet.  Divert it's course with all available weaponry.  That comet must not be destroyed at any cost.  Brigidiar if you have nothing of vital importance except critisicisim I suggest you go enjoy your drink.  *tips head at Winterspoon* No offence intended to your party Sir.

Nocturnus to science: I want that comet and I want it whole.

We are here to help. We were currently patroling on the Borders of the Nebula when Comets surged on us. We have destroyed one and lost the second. Finally, we have found it and we see this Comet is threatening your Base.
We are ready to open fire and help you to destroy it.
