"Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait..." He looks at Borusa grimly and says, "Don't be so judgmental. This man may be just the fellow we need. If he is who he says he is."
Turning to the surprised Mannion the Doctor smiles and says, "So, would you like to have a seat and tell us who you are and how we can help you? As you have obviously been listening to part of our conversation, I feel it is only fair that we exchange notes, don't you think?"
OH REALLY Mr Mannon. shall we take a small walk to my office mm?
Excuse me gentlemen *nods head*
*Zack Mannion stands up.*
And, you don´t know dick about us, so don´t start to tell us what we are capable of using. And, I´ll show you terrorists, "doctor"!
*Mannion walks to Doctoprs seat and throws him of the chair to the floor, grabs his collar and drags him, sitting through some corridors with the admiral and agent Svensson right behind. When they comes in to a room, he lifts doctor up with the hand who held him in the collor.*
Now look doctor: this is terrorists!
*There was many persons Doctor knew as dangerous for the univers, too many...*
Now, I caught half of this guys by myself, and then this is not one of FSS prisons. THEY are stocked to the limit! Now, I could throw you in there too, but I doupt you would live half a day in there so listen! We will find and stop the Validium with or without your help. As a mattar of fact, we know where it is, and we have send some agents to stop and destroy it.
*Suddenly, his eyes became black, and his voice became much deeper.*
There is only a matter of time, so, all help is needed. But don´t think we can´t find and destroy it ourselfes! I don´t give a #### about Borusas "fancy techniques". I LEARNED THEM AS A CADETT FOR THIS PLACE! Now, help us, or get most of your memory whiped clean, that is for you two, "admiral"...
You may not use our own communications.
Pete, are your comp ready? Otherwhise I can use the HQ own system.
Borusa: "Computer?"
Computer: "Hello! May I help you?"
Borusa: "Yes. Send a private message to the Doctor for me."
Computer: "Please specify which doctor to whom you would like to send a message. Do you need medical assistance?"
Borusa: "No I don't need a doctor, you antiquated adding machine. I need the Doctor. He's aboard this station, I've traced him here. He's part of your crew, I believe, working for the Terrans."
Computer: "Please wait while I search for the Doctor."
************************
Computer: "There is a medical doctor whose name is Doctor, is this the person to whom you want to send a message?
Borusa: "Yes, yes, that's him. Are you ready to record my message?"
Computer: "Whenever you are ready, sir."
Borusa: "Right. Doctor, when you get this message, meet me in the... Computer, inset the name of this area to my message. Sign off the message with the words 'an old friend from home.'"
Computer: "Shall I send your message, sir?"
Borusa: "Yes, and do it quickly."
"Doctor, doesn't he remind you of Koschei? Such spirit. Perhaps he is just who you need to help you- he seems to have more discipline in his words than you do in your whole body."
The Doctor rolls his eyes at this last comment. Borusa was entitled to his opinions, and nothing he could say would change those opinions anyway. Besides, Borusa was right, it was a good idea to have someone like Mannion along. No doubt this situation would turn ugly, and the Doctor hated carrying weapons...
Ehum... That was fun, wasen´t it Pete?
"What is this, then: Good Cop and Bad Cop? Hardly original. No offense, but I've been interrogated by far nastier methods. Mind probes, duress, torture... face it, you guys need a new routine."
*Mannion seems ready to pummel the Doctor, but waits as the Doctor holds up a hand and continues.*
"However, as the admiral suggests, I think that if we put our differences aside, we can more quickly achieve our goals. Perhaps you could offer us contact with our respective people and some light refreshment? I can't speak for the admiral, but your anesthetic left me a little parched. Besides, I'm sure the admiral and I will be missed before very long, and I doubt everyone will take kindly to the notion that you are in any way holding us as prisoners. Perhaps, as your 'invited guests,' we can use your communications to check in with our people?"
Validium is alive, and is a very smart weapon, but it is above having a conscience and is a power in it's own right.
Needless to say, we must pinpoint it's location and render it either inoperative or inaccessible. I can suggest a few ways of doing this, but I want to locate it first. And I have a plan on how to do it quickly. If we can agree to work together.
*he takes some sort of combadge that looks somewhat futuristic, and pushes it*
"Svensson to ship's computer. Scan the room of my location for residue particles of any form of transporter beam, and then try to locate where this person has been beamed to"
Computer voice: "Working..."
Well, to be short: A monstrouse livinng weapon are on the loose that can destroy the entire univers. It is our job that together with thise *Gestures towards Doctor* to locate and destroy the life form.
(OFF: Oh! I like the new avatars! )
I'm sure this is something that can be taken care of "discreetly"
Doctor: "You rang?"
Borusa: "Do you know who I am, Doctor?"
The Doctor's smile vanished as he puzzled over Borusa's face. Familiar, but not overly so. Old friend wasn't much of a clue...
Doctor: "No, I don't know who you are. Who are you? And while you're at it, why did you call me?"
Borusa: "Always so impatient, Doctor. You haven't changed."
Borusa put down his drink and stared at the Doctor. The glance was more than just a look, and their minds touched. Now the Doctor knew who Borusa was, but not why He had chosen to descend to the realms of mere men. It had to be something Earth-shattering, or on second thought, universe-shattering!
"I think you'll find that valium is a 20th century drug, young man. The substance we are discussing is validium- much more destructive than you can possibly comprehend. Now, just go away, and take your petty schemes and plots for power with you."
"Yes, yes, yes... I'm sure your very capable at what you do. However, I think we can all agree that this discussion is better done in private. Let's take this matter to Admiral Nocturnus."
Borusa rises from his chair slowly and glares at Mannion.
"I am not here to deliver my information to this arrogant puppy. However, I think he and his kind are just what we need." Borusa takes a deep breath and smiles at Mannion like a serpent. "I agree we should talk to this admiral. I believe the expression is: 'Take me to your leader.'"
Mannion rises from the chair he had straddled, and with one hand near his concealed phaser, follows the Doctor and Borusa to the turbolift. The Doctor calls Admiral Nocturnus and leaves a message asking him to meet them in the Avalon Executive Lounge near his offices. 'Hopefully.' the Doctor thinks, 'we can get this discussion over with as soon as possible. Every minute the validium is loose is another tick on this galaxy's doomsday clock.'
"We should take another approach," says Borusa. "These people cannot be trusted."
The Doctor shakes his head and gives Borusa something in his hand. Borusa looks at the object in astonishment. It is a phaser, set to kill.
"Why did you give this to me? Whose is it," Borusa asks.
The Doctor tips his head toward the departing Admiral and Mannion.
"I picked Mannion's tunic. He really should know it's dangerous to fire energy weapons in an enclosed space. Personally, as you know, I hate carrying weapons."
Borusa finally manages to turn the phaser off and puts it in a pocket.
"Yes, so you've told me," he says drily.
A man walks inside, wearing a Starfleet uniform.
"Your intentions are good, Zack Mannion, but you draw far too much attention. What if anyone tries to contact the admiral, or the doctor? They'll find it weird when they're not responding and can nowhere be found... But we are here now nevertheless"
He extends his hands to the doctor and to Borusa.
"Greetings, gentlemen, please forgive my friend for all this trouble, but I assure you, he has the right intentions, and so do I. My name is Svensson, and who I am exactly, you will find out later. Keep my presence a secret, and you will see I can help you..."
"People, people, people... let's try to behave, shall we? First of all, you'll not be able to trace Mr. Borusa. He hasn't used a technology you are capable of using. As for the transmats, or transporters, you know of- his kind have transcended such simple mechanical devices since before this universe was half it's present size. No, face it- you're stuck with me."
*The Doctor smiles, but the smile doesn't seem to reach his eyes."
"Secondly, human or not, the secret of the validium is mine now."
*The Doctor turns to the Admiral and ignores his captors to explain.*
"You see, for validium to be completely active, it needs 2 things: 1. A critical mass, and 2. It's rightful operator. At the moment, the validium is stable and relatively safe, because it hasn't met those 2 requirements. And if I have anything to do about it, I'm going to make sure that situation remains unchanged."
*The Doctor sits back and glares at his jailers with obvious contempt.*
"Return the Admiral and I to our rightful places, and then we can discuss this situation in it's proper setting. I will not work with terrorists."
I have ties with all "major" species in this galaxy.
My friend here *points to the doctor* holds the information you need And I have the authority to help you achieve what you need without you blowing your cover. Now if we took this to a niceer pleasent environment without the facade of hostages, it will be a little more productive
"What, you're not even going to offer us tea?! I don't see why we should cooperate with people who don't even offer us tea!"
You asked me to report to you sir, how can i assist ?
OFF: see USS Skytoucher Van'Gu mission as of this point
"As you very well know, Doctor, Gallifrey is at war. You may also know we are losing."
**
"That musn't concern me- I am not involved."
**
"True. But we need your help to prevent the war from becoming more than it already is. We do not have the resources to do the job, but you do."
**
"Whetever it is, I won't help. It is your war." The Doctor gets up to leave, but Borusa says a quiet word that makes him sit down again quickly:
**
"Validium..."
*Mannion stunned the 3 persons in the turbolift. When they waked up, they was in another place, lying on some kind of diagnostics bed. Theystood up and looked around when Mannion came in.*
I am terrible sorry for that gentlemens I truly am. But we needed to speak somewhere there no one who not is supposed to hear, hear us. If you just follow me...
*They followed Mannion through many long corridors who was duranium coloured with white lights. The trademark of the Federation. The only thing was, that they didn´t saw a single conventional Star Fleet uniform. In fact, there was not a single uniform at all! The only thin that resembled a uniform was that most of the crew had a black jacket. Some had something that mostly looked like a jump-suit of some kind, but not really anyway. They followed Mannion in to a room that was black, in diffirence to the corridors. It had a big screen like a briefing room, with the classical long, rectangular table. On the screen it was some kind of logo, it was round, white, with a external circle in blue, in the white it stood: FSS, in blue. Mannion sat down at the end nearest the screen and made a signal to the others to sit down as well, witch they did.*
So, *He started* now we can talk in privacy. Who wants to start?
"I may have volunteered to be the one to warn this galaxy of the danger of valdium, but I do not have to be subjected to the indignities of your so-called security people."
He turns to the Doctor and says, "You know what to do. I have said enough."
*Borusa touches his wrist and fades away before Mannion's astonished eyes. The Doctor seems to expect this, and merely grimaces at the enormity of the task ahead.*
*walks up to a food replicator*
"Tea, Earl Grey."
*brings the tea to the table and gives everyone a cup*
"I'm sure the admiral will be excused by his people for tea time, won't he?
Anyway, as I was saying, I wanted to talk about the dangers of this substance... what can particularly be done with it?"
Excuse me gentlemen, I am looking for someone. Perhaps you could help?
Now remains one question left:
WHERE is the Validum located? And with what REASON can we send the Skytoucher there (to make it seem they go there for some scientific research of something, while we get to do our job)?
Where is Jack?
The Doctor looks at Borusa for confirmation.
What "So-called"? Doctor, can you please tell Borusa that we knows much about the Validium, and that it is only a matter of time before we find it. With yoiur and his help it only goes faster. I am so tired of species that thinks that humans don´t understands nothing.
*He leaned against the Doctor and Nocturnus.*
Just that, who has said that Svensson and I are humans, uh?
*There was a sudden bright light from Mannions eyes, something a human not could do, or a romulan, or a vulcan, not even a founder. It was over in less then a second, but Doctor had really got something to think on.*
I will let you go now, but first I must whipe your memorie of this place. Pete?
This is not a interrogation, I am ordered to find those who knows something about the Validium and take them here. I can ask for the President to come here too but that would just be a vaste of time.
I brought you here to think about my and my counterparts discresion. But it seems that you are in no mood of co operating.
*nods* then we have sum work to do.
*sits down and crosses his arms, awaiting an explanation*
The temptation of power would be to great.
*hears the incoming message from Romar*
Svensson to Romar: whats the status of my ship? Everything under control? Don't forget to move position once in awhile, safety precaution so no scanners could detect its location.
