Yes...so it seems. *he stares off in thought for a moment* Yes, yes...I remember. *he stands up abruptly* I'm sorry, but I am really running short of time and must go. It was good to see you again, and hopefully next time I will not be so pressed for time. Good day to you. *holds out his hand to shake K's*
=^= Attention to all Starfleet personell and civilians =^=
This is Flag Admiral Vorak speaking. Today at 1500 hours, the funeral ceremony will be held for Admiral T'Hain, commanding officer of StarPhoenix Base. His tragic end was caused by the Borg, and his commending actions in his life deserve a sign of respect, so please come to cargo bay 1 now, where the ceremony will be held according to the customs since the demise of Mr. Spock. Please report to cargo bay 1 immediately.
=^= Vorak out =^=
OFF: to find the cargo bay 1, go to the Station Ops forum on this board, and you will find a topic "the funeral of T'Hain", please post there and remain there until the funeral ceremony is finished, it will not take too long.
"Its a good thing I have such good hearing, Here are 2 Vulcan Spice Teas, If you need anything else just hollar, ill be right over.."
"Very well. Arrangements will be made. Have you chosen from the menu card yet?"
"And the same for me, please."
*Vorak sips from his Vulcan spice tea.*
*Vorak dispassionately eats his dish, as could be expected of any Vulcan.*
"Thank you, Ms. Love. I have always endeavored to spend my time as useful as possible. It is the wise teachings of Surak that say that everything that is but limited, is precious. Life is such an example, so each second is valuable and one must strive to learn, even to the last minute of your life. I have spent many years in the studying of various subjects, however science was my major subject. However, normally I was supposed to be dead."ยจ
*He sees her look up in surprise, and continues to explain.*
"I was a lieutenant commander on board the U.S.S. Enterprise-C, which was destroyed by a Romulan attack as the ship was trying to defend a Klingon outpost. All crew and ship were lost, but it was exactly in that time I had returned to Vulcan for my prearranged marriage."
*enters and goes to the kor counters
*sits down with sloan and motions for a waiter to take an order or 2.
DO you still remember your training days director, when we were told Transphasic weaponry and regenerative shields were in testing by an unknown species, you said you'd research it, how far did u get and what if I told you I know where they are.?
*shakes sloans hand" nice seeing your director. Good Hunting.
logan enters and looks around. He sees kor and walks over to him.
"sorry to enterupt but i want to book a table.Ive heard
good things about this place.
"Ah, yes. Indeed. Tonight the U.S.S. Rivendell will be launched for the first time. That reminds me, I am scheduled to be on board the ship when it makes a test flight to Deep Space 20 and back."
"I have no other obligations to this station other than my job. I'll accompany you."
*finishes her tea.*
OFF: People post before me! ggrrrr! yeah, just alter that post to answer to Kor's recommendation.
*Love nods as he accentuates the importance of learning and making use of time...*
"I greatly respect that belief....which may be the reason I dropped from the academy."
*Sips her tea with a tranquil expression.*
"Facinating, I did not know you were wed. To whom is it, might I question? Does she live on this station?"
Kelli walks in the restaurant with a confident look on her face as she goes to Kor's counter.
"Mahr'chok, be'tu! Griil'klan gagh, chen'klan warnog!"
(Awake, quickly! Two handfuls of gagh, and one handful of warnog!)
Kor notices the person that walked in and goes over to take his orderGreetings! What can I get you today? Some gagh? Or perhaps some Klingon bloodwine?
Kor thinks to him self "hmmm some people sure do not stick around long"
Kor walks up to the table where the Flag Admiral is sittingGreetings! Can I interest you in some gagh I must tell you its quite fresh and ahem quite alive, or perhaps you have come here with your heart set on something else?
"Very Well, I shall be right back with your Vulcan Spice Tea... And Here is a Menu Card for the lady, It includes all the house specialities and drinks, if you wish for something else non klingon just let me know and I will use the Replicator, I will be right back"
"I believe that the menu Heart of Targ is quite agreeable. Of course, you are free to choose as you wish."
"My wife lived on Vulcan. Last year she went missing, however, and Vulcan authorities believe she may have been killed while climbing the dangerous mountains on my homeworld. She was not always... quite logical."
*enter and orders a klingon meal*
I'll have watever the house recommends this evening.
Remember the "Data" Project

. *winks slightly*
And to you, sir. *turns and walks towards the exit*
*Vorak enters the Klingon Restaurant with Paris Love as they just got out of the turbolift while they were talking.*
"So how long have you in fact been on this station, Ms. Love?"
*Sits down on the other side of the table before her.*
"Logically your father must accept your decision."
"My father isn't the most logical of men. He is human, after all. Although I know my mother might support me, he may not accept it."
*sighs*
"It is something I no longer wish to dwell on. Admiral, what exactly would you have me do on a daily routine? Do you drink coffee? Vulcan tea?"
(Edited by Paris Love at 4:53 pm on April 4, 2004)
"Thankyou, but I'll have the tea myself."
*turns back to Vorak*
"I must say, secretary work will be quite different from what I was preparing myself for. I had hope to possibly get a position on one of Avalon's ships. Yet another ship leaves without me aboard. The Rivendell is launching today, correct?"
"At 2100 hours, I believe. You may accompany me, if you have no other things scheduled yet. It may be that the ship will remain a day and night at Deep Space 20 before returning to Avalon Station."
"No, I am unfamiliar with Klingon foods, which is most unfortunate with my situation; I cannot decide. What would you recommend?"
"Ah Indeed I do, If you do not have a very strong stomach I would definatley not recommend the live gagh.. I think the Heart of Targ will be much more to your liking"
*Love does the same; trying a small bite, she's surprised at the spicy, yet familiar taste...*
"Awkward...It seems as if I've tasted this before."
*She sips her tea*
"Admiral, I'm sure you have quite the number of interesting tales of your younger years; would you mind sharing a few? I must admit, I'm quite curious as to how you worked your way up to flag admiral. It's not an easy task, especially for a Vulcan who has just aged...what is it, 84? You're still quite young."
*sips her tea once more before continuing to eat in a mannerly fashion*
"I apologize for bringing up such a dire loss for you. Shall we go now?"
"These jobs are indeed fitting, Ms. Love. I hope you do not mind to travel along to Deep Space 12. The job I have, often requires me to be abroad. And often I do not have the time to pack all necessary things for each journey, perhaps you could assist me in making a list of things that needed to be packed, and perhaps pack them for me should I be short in time? However, if you believe that to be inappropriate, please do state so, Ms. Love"
*Then he nodds at Kor.*
"I believe we have finished our meal, Mr. Kor. Your food is most commendable."
"The speech is intended toward the new crew of the U.S.S. Rivendell in particular, and the contents should include that they are a fine crew and the typical illogical words that humans like to hear on an occassion like this. I will see you in the shipyards, Ms. Love."
*And then the turbolift opens and Paris Love walks out.*
*waits for the waiter to leave* Vaguely, I do seem to recall a place...hidden. Unfortionately I was forced to wipe the records off it after my last visit. You say you know its location? As for the transphasic weaponery, I do believe they were able to perfect it. I think the regeneration was coming along well too.
"Thank you, Admiral. It's not a matter of the academy being too difficult, but rather too easy...(OFF: that and people never posting in there.) I had hoped to skip all that, it seemed to be an irrational waste of my time. But yes, your offered position will suit me perfectly...although there is the matter of explaination to my father..."
*Takes the pulled out seat as she says this.*
"Well I suppose I can always fire up the replicator if you insist on having something Vulcan....."
"Then it may be wise to ask Mr. Kor if he should recommend the Heart of Targ for you too."
"Ah Very well, I will be right back with your meals and each a refill on your drink"
A few moments later Kor returns with the food
Ah here you are..
Kor sits the platters down along with the drink refills
I hope it is to your liking.. If you need anything give me a hollar..
"Is it time already? Or do you wish to eat dessert?"
As they board the turbolift:
"Yes, it is enough time. You wish me to draft a speech? I'd gladly do so were I to know the message you wish to convey, and the audience you'd present to. I'd imagine to occupants of the station at DS 20, correct? Shall I do what you asked then draft one onboard?"
*Love exits at crew quarter levels while Vorak exits later at station Ops.*
Ah well then I will be right back with a nice plate of gagh prepared the best way ALIVE and I nice goblet of Klingon bloodwine.
Kor then goes off and prepares the meal and then returns with it to the table of Mr. K
I hope that this meats your satisfication! Please do not hesitate to ask for anything!
*Vorak decides to simply choose a table, since it's a quiet hour and all tables are free anyway, and offers Ms. Love a chair.*
"Please, sit down. I believe the most logical way is to aquire that knowledge which you feel you are best suited for. If Starfleet is not what suits you, it would only be logical indeed to put your skills to work where they are best used."
"Yes, I do indeed prefer Vulcan Spice Tea."
*Then he looks up at Kor.*
"Maybe a Vulcan Spice Tea as aperitif would be suitable. Ms. Love, do you wish to see the menu card first?"
"Yes, I cannot truthfully say that I have the strongest of stomaches, I must carefully watch what I eat."
*Inhales the aroma of the freshly prepared food.*
"Delectable. Thank you, Mr. Kor."
*Wonders how one goes about eating it....*
OFF: FACE FIRST!
"No, I'm quite full, I do not desire dessert. The hour has not yet reached 2000 hours, but if I wish to accompany you, I'll need to pack a couple of things to stay overnight.
And if you desire, we might go to operations to get my requested padd/planner device, and ask that all messages that you receive while on the Rivendell be forwarded to it. Would you ask that I, from this point, take all calls for you and record your planned daily activities? For a reminder, of course. I also offer that I could possibly type up any unconfidential documents or memos upon request; Perhaps you'd enjoy eating in your office if too preoccupied with work to visit a restaurant.
I am your personal assistant, Admiral, those suggested aidings have barely scratched the surface, I'm capable of much more; is there anything in particular you'd ask me to do? Feel free to."
"Very well. I shall program computer access for you to my quarters. Here is a list of items I will require. Most of it is usually standard equipment that is usually already pre-packed in a small travel box, and a dress uniform would be most in place for the occassion. After all, it is not the first official flight of the newly constructed U.S.S. Rivendell, but also my first official and formal visit to station Deep Space 20."
*He hands over a padd with a list.*
"I will gather together some documents at my office, and I will meet you at the shipyards in thirty minutes, is that sufficient time?"
*He gets up from his seat, and nodds at Kor a last time as they leave the restaurant.*
"Also, I will likely be asked to give a speech upon the launch of the ship. How are your skills of writing speeches?"
That object you have Mr Sloan is the core of everything.

it seems they are unaware of the technology "they" wield. Think of the defence if hte bird is kitted.
"Well, I had come to study to be a starfleet officer a few months ago, but I lost all interest. Seems it's not as challenging as the schooling my parents put me through as a child. Hopefully my father will not be too disappointed, he really has it set in his mind that I would become a very respectful starfleet officer, althought being your aid might suit him just as well."
*Ponders whether they should simply pick a table or wait to be seated by a hostess.*
"I do not suppose you have Vulcan traditional meals? Hmm.. very well. Ms. Love, do you know which meal you wish to order?"
*sips her tea as he says this.*
"When are you due? I'll accompany you desire so."
*checks her watch*
1930 hours
*collectively shakes her head*
"What's life without a few minor risks?"
*turns to Mr. Kor*
"I'll have the Heart of Targ, if you please. Quite possibly a refill when you have the opportunity as well."
"I hope this dish is to your liking."
*Vorak begins eating it in the typical, Vulcan civilized and un-Klingon like manner.*
"No, I do not deem it inappropriate. You're simply asking for my help; it is my employment now, so I intend to do so. I'll stop at my quarters and pack, then do the same at yours. Do you require a dress uniform, any special clothing, or items...? Medication for example. And I'd imagine your quarters have restricted access, might I aquire the passcode?"
*turns to Mr. Kor*
"Yes. Thank you. I believe I've found a new favorite restaurant."
