"Ah! In that case, one moment please..."
*He extends his hand at Kor.*
"Waiter, two Klingon bloodwines too, please."
*He turns back to Kha'Var and leans back in his chair.*
"We will need it. Well, I'm ready to listen. There's nothing like a good story taken directly from real life!"

*Licking the juices of her meal off her fingers, she replies.*

"Yes, it was a most satisfactory meal in comparison to the garbage being served at the other one.  I think I will look into your shop one of these days, just to see what kinds of Klingon artifacts you have."

Lurado walked into the resturant while its lights flickered some.
"Cadets, if your not having instructional time in the academy, hands are needed in getting this station back to running. You tactical cadets I figure have learned more than a classrooms worth from this chaos anyway".

After a couple of hours I decided to return to the ship.

Will walked into the restaurant, and took a seat near the viewport. "Over one hundred decks," he said, "and we can't get a normal restaurant past the Celtic Corner. Oh, I miss the Emerald Isle."

Before the waiter made his way over, Will thought of the commissioning plaque from DS12 that he had hanging in his quarters here on Avalon.

*KHa'Var settles into the chair as comfortable as she can, being that she will be sitting for some time.*

"In the days of my early youth, stardate 2344.  I have been stationed on Vulcan for about a year, at the time I was in a 10-year officer exchange program.  My Vulcan commander thought it best for me to learn meditation, to control my anger.  I was ordered to attend sessions with a Vulcan master, it turned out that she was Vorak's old teacher."

*She shifts in her chair once more.*

"Are you sure you are not bored with my story?"

*Enoch finished his plate, and emptied his glass of bloodwine.*
"Speaking of a perfect match! A Vulcan in Ponn Farr doing exactly what Klingons perceive as courting... fighting each other! Yes, I have studied quite a bit of Klingon culture, and I even have some interesting Klingon artefacts in my store. Speaking of which, I should head back to my store soon. I have some... unfinished business I need to attend to. I hope you enjoyed dinner?"

"Of course. After all, I'm the only merchant allowed to sell sharp ancient blades in the sector. So sharp is the way I like to keep them! But if you're going to stay around here, sharpening blades won't fill your days. Maybe you could look for a job on the station? Surely Vorak, being that he's your husband, can think of something? Perhaps at the Deep Space Academy, I heard they are short of teachers. Surely they could use a good teacher at martial arts, or Klingon history?"

Manach saunters into the room, where he sees Kawolsky.  He walks up to him.

"Hey there, Kawolsky.  All recovered from our little field trip?"

*KHa'Var and Enoch enter the restaurant at about the same time.*

"I see that you chose to be here at the appointed hour, instead of being late.  You might make a decent officer on my ship."

*They take a seat at an empty table.*

"Hmm... it would definitely be interesting to see the inside of a Klingon ship in person. Although, I have some matters to attend to later today. How about tomorrow? I trust you will stay long enough, for me to keep persisting until you tell me the story of you and admiral Vorak."
*Then he notices Kor arriving at their table.*
"Ah! Qa'pla! I will have the Klingon Skull Soup. Have you decided yet, Ms. Kha'Var?"

"I will make it clear, the only reason I followed orders was out of my sense of duty.  That and I saw the advantage of such training  if used in battle, a warrior made to perfection!  Now, on with my story.  After overcoming several struggles and attempts made by the Vulcan master, I was able to control my mind and emotions to a grudging approval.  Then one day after finishing a failed meditation exercise, she told me in the voice used by those who know their death is near:
'It has been seven years ago since he came during Ponn Farr.  He will come for me, as he has before.  But I will not be here when he comes, my time is short.  Your lessons have ended, wait there is one thing I have left to tell you.'  She performed a mind meld, giving me her memories her... shakra for safe keeping before she continued.   'I have given you a great burden.  It is an honour  I give you to carry out of these mountains and to the temple.  He who comes is your match, I know, you are both stubborn students and I your teacher can see this is only logical.  Your... match......will.......know.....'  Moments later, when I was paying my respects to the dead in the fashion of my people, he walked in.  As he walked in, he saw his mentor dead and a Klingon holding her head.  With Ponn Farr running through his blood, he assumed that I was a killer and attacked me.  I knew how the situation looked and only protected myself from his attacks.  The fight carried throughout the caves moving from one room to the next.  The entire time our teacher's logic was trying to bring his logic back into focus, using my mouth to speak the words.  It was several rooms deeper into the mountain, when he finally stopped his attacks.  The dead showed me what to do, to help him through Ponn Farr.  I trust that I do not need to tell what happens next, as I am sure you are smart enough to figure out the rest.  And yes it was Vorak, that I met in the caves."

"Well as I have said before, time is not of the essence.  I have not decided on when or IF I will be leaving the station.  But until I do make that decision, I need something to preocupy my time.  As well as keep my combat skills sharp.  A good blade is worthless if it is not properly cared for, you know."

*Enoch raises an eyebrow.*
"Officer on your ship? I've never even been on a Klingon ship before, for as far as I can remember."
*He points out an empty table.*
"Please be seated, while I call for a waiter."
*He waves his hand at Kor, who was serving a dish to other people at another table, further away. Then he sits down too and turns back to Kha'Var.*
"Well, you haven't answered my question yet. How did you and admiral Vorak get together? Let me guess, at a Ponn Farr night in a Vulcan nightclub?"

*Hearing the restaurant host's question, KHa'Var places her order.*

"I will have the Bahgol, Gagh, Heart of Targ, and Rokeg Blood Pie.  That is, if you do not have prearranged meals for warriors."

*She looks at Enoch as the Klingon walks back to the kitchen to fill their orders.*

"I will be staying on the station for quite awhile.  Tomorrow or whenever you have the available time for a tour of a 'real' Klingon ship is fine with me.  As long as it is not during my practice time.  I like to keep my skills sharp, you know."

*KHa'Var stretches.*

"If you really want to know the how or why Vorak and I are married, you will need a lot of time to listen to my story.  For it is a long one and is best if told in one sitting, as it can become confusing or obscure in some spots."

*She grins at him.*

"So do you have the time? That is if you are still interested in hearing it."

*Enoch smiles. At that moment, Kor returns with the ordered food and drinks, and presents it on their table. They begin to eat the tasteful Klingon food.*
"Most certainly not. Please do keep going. So you attended sessions with a Vulcan master... you must have been the first Klingon in history to agree to that! So, what happened next?"

"Hmm... is Kor around? Ah, Kor, there you are. Well, I need to get going too now, but just put the expenses on my bill. I'll come back for it later."
*Enoch hurries out of the restaurant, heading back to his store.*

=^= Ops to all decks on Avalon Station =^=
This is Flag Admiral Vorak speaking. Avalon Station is about to be attacked by the Na'jigat, a species existing of pure mental energy, practically impossible to defeat. We are in a condition of war. All Starfleet personnel is required to take battle stations, including those off-duty. Civilians are requested to find a safe place on the station, and those with some Starfleet experience may report to Station Ops to have a duty assigned.

"You have never been on a Klingon ship!  Well as they say there is always a first time for everything.  If you are interested, I could show you around my ship, after the meal."
