Brodie walked into the conference room. Sitting at the long conference desk he awaiting his new XO. Looking at the 2 Admirals.
"Is their a time that your predicting the Interceptor will be completed?"
Hobson looked down for a moment thinking. "......yes, that does sound more promising. Captain, you heard Admiral Madison on that one, thats spot on. We need to prepare the ship for departure by a matter of days. Now we must plot a course for its exploration, Captain, you might want to be a part of that of course".
He tapped controls at the table and the wall monitor lit up with cartography of the Delta Quadrant.
This ship gets better and better.
What Ca'nt it do Admiral?
"Are there any closing questions or statements? I think we have discussed the details of this mission of exploration. We might all enjoy returning to the Interceptor to see how the work is coming along, and for the crew of the ship who are here".
He nodded to the three ship command staff.
"will be able to remain on board for your own discussions and work to be done. It sounds as if Admiral Fisher has stepped the completion date sooner than expected, and all the better for it!".
The Senior Staff Meeting Room
"A week perhaps, or as the hope is. It depends on the work of our crew, the Interning Cadets are a great help, and it is a help to them as well. My concern is not the time the Interceptor takes to be completed, it is her crew. She is a little short on crew I have to say. We were very lucky to find you an XO, and glad enough a very good one has been found...now! to your first assignment, it will be to head toward the Van'Gu Cluster, where the Excalibur was sent for its voyage of exploration and research. We have been unable to hear from them for almost a month now, concern is valid at this point. You are to first of all see to the edge of the cluster, see if you can get a signal in. If you cannot, you will enter it. Before I go on, do you have any concerns Captain?"
Madison glances at the cadet then looks at Brodie.
"The Excalibur is however expected back before your mission. As fit as the Excalobur is its scientific equipment is not as advanced as the Interceptor's will be. We do not yet know how the new devices put on the ship will function in the cluster. If the Excalibur and Unity report hostile activities we may scrub the mission to the Cluster edge for a more challenging task for the new ship. The Excaliburs over month long mission their should gather enough data for now. My vote lands with beginning the Interceptors famed to be maiden voyage to unexplored space. It will take weeks to plot a course and look for the correct place to explore however Expansion Nebula star charts are availible to us. We can have the ship loaded with cargo and better crewed during the time we plan the mission."
He smiled at this point.
"It can't run without a crew, and a fine one it will have to. One of the best things it can have for this certain mission is the ability to communicate long range without a delay of months. Any other ship that would be as far as the Interceptor is to go would not be able to communicate with DS20 quickly, the delay for signal travel would be weeks without communication buoys. The Interceptor has only a 2 minute delay in audio transmission, 5 minute in visual. As long as the communication arrays are not damaged that kind of quick, and very long range communication can continue".
that will be a better job that the one I came from
Is this where I am supposed to report for a mission briefing Sir.
Hobson enters the conference room with Brodie and Kellanis and takes a seat.
"Come in Cadet, this will not take long".
He takes a padd sitting on the table and hands it to Graham.
"Cadet Graham you are then? Engineering, there is a perfect chance for you here then. You are assigned to the Interceptor installations in the main engineering bay, you will report to Admiral Gary Fisher who will probally have you assist him in the main engineering decks of the USS Interceptor. He will report back to me on your work and such and we will go from there. Dismissed cadet".
"I think we will continue with what Admiral Madison proposed for an assignment of the Interceptor. It is indeed possible the Excalibur will return soon, making the Interceptor a little need at the Van'Gu Cluster...I have quickly set a course for the Interceptor".
The fleet delta quadrant map came onto the screen again with a view of the entire explored and unexplored space.
"Hmm, we could get some support, or at least someone to tag along, with firefox division, they have a carrier patrolling along the opposing border of the DA."
"Also, concerning the excalibur and the Van'Gu cluster, we could enlist the aid,if they're willing, of the Order of the Blue Flame."
"The point of a maiden voyage is for it to be solo. The ship is built for such a task. I have not heard of an..order of the blue flame. I am sure the Exbalibur will be fine, it and the Unity are fine ships."
*looks at the Screen*
Admiral Seeing that we will be gone from this base of operstions and what the Intercepter is designed for do we have time to add a repair shop to build and replacment parts so in the sence we can re-fit on the fly so that we only will have to come to a starbase for crew routations.
This is a good ship Iam glad I got the Offer for her
Brodie looks at Madison and Hobson
"I am glad to so many new officers. I understand we now have a CO, XO, CMO, Chief Engineer and OPs Chief. All we need to get the basics are Science and Tac/Sec. I will see who i can talk to about those position. If we can spare it JAG may come of use to dictate things as their will be no Admirality able to be in close contact with us , the little command positions will mean much more out far. But i do like the mission plan. I think we will encounter many things good bad and in between. An adventure for this Veteran Captain"
Ah ha cool I heard that it is two weeks or there abouts till we get a change of server all Expansionfleet.
Madison enters shortly after nodding to Hobson and sitting at the other end of the conference table.
A young man enters the conference room. Apon seeing high ranking officers, his cheery attitude fades and he becomes serious.
"Cadet Graham reporting, sirs! I was told to report here, I believe, I'm extremely sorry if I have the wrong room...Oh!"
He throws his hand up and salutes his superiors.
"I am here for the engineering training."
*mumbles to herself*
"Hmmm, the order may be able to help with this mission."
*looks up to Hobson, then at the map, nods her head and stands and walks over to the map...tracing a route from Nova to a spot in the cluster...while doing calculations in her head, she walks back to her seat and sits....*
I will sit in SIr.
Wil grabs a seat.
What did I miss so far?
ooc: sience Riker Avraved now he dos'nt know what happend in the conference
Yes In my travels I have not heard of it ethier.
Lt.Commander were did you here of this blue flame?
Also I have taken a look of the U.S.S Intercepter on the main Coomputer and she is a massave ship could almost take anything so why would we whant to bring another ship alone do you know somthing we do'nt
Hobson sat in silence and then spoke in a slower voice.
"...The Interceptors design was made for, rather long, journeys....this mission will take the better part of a year. No returning to the station, for that would not be distantly possible if the missions objective were to be met in its entirety".
"Its a ship with a good prospect, that's for sure. Speaking of the communications, Mr. Riker. One of your primary duties as Chief Ops Officer will be to see to the Long Range Communications Arrays I spoke of. Of course in work with Engineering to see to its maintainence. One of several things a Chief Ops Officer would do on a ship the Interceptor's size. There is no way she could function on a skeleton crew, so I am glad she is getting one so fine as this".
Well guess I will take a look at our Ship and help with the final stuff for her.
Riker *nods to the other officers* And leaves heading for the Intercepter
Brodie looks at Madison and Hobson

OCC:Unfortunitly it has been delayed even further. They are having trouble with the company that they are getting the server from.
When will be getting things moving along?
"Welcome to Deep Space 20 Mr. Riker. Along with being the Interceptors Chief Operations Officer, you are also the ships third in command. Glad enough that you were offered and accepted, for a ship of the Interceptors size has the need for a long command staff. You might want to sit in on this conference and provide your own input on the Interceptors first assignment, or you can go to the main hangar and view the ship for yourself".
Admiral Fishers voice echos in the room.
"Pardon the interuption but i have a status report, we lack only the 2 Engineering rooms and some outer parts for the double deflectors and then we will do a check of all systems. She is expected to be ready for test run in a day or so."
Brodie looks at Madison and Hobson

Ah yes a fair reason for everything to be a little quiet.
Lt.Commander Wil Riker Enters the Room.
Comma.. I mean Lt.Commander Wil Riker Reporting for Duty.
"The Interceptors assignment is distinct now, and so there would be no need for aid. No other ship could survive the full course the Interceptor shall take. As for the Excalibur, this conference is not to discuss the Van'Gu Cluster. Mr. Riker, I shall fill you in on the basics"
He points to the screen on the wall showing the course and map of the delta quadrant.
"You can of course see, that the Interceptors course leads it to space uncharted and unresearched. The 'unknown' does not really come into play untill"
He walks to the cartography screen and points to where the course line goes past the Delta Alliance group.
"..there...there is no knowledge of who, what might lie there".
Brodie looks at Madison and Hobson
