Admiral Vorak: I was curious about the Phoenix? is it part of section 31 or intelligence?  I was wondering also, If you wanted to discuss a possible reduction in ships to two for the Intell division? I am not sure if this is a good idea but I just wanted to run that by you.

Post by: Vorak on June 14, 2004, 03:13:24 PM
It has never exactly been defined whether the Phoenix is an Intel or S31 ship, but it is best to look at it as an Intel ship generally.
The reduction from 3 to 2 ships is not bad, if this is practically possible what concerns crew. The Phoenix has a captain (is currently on announced LOA, which is why we currently keep the ship docked at the station) and so does the Blackfire. How about the crew status of the SIV Dragon?

I think it would be wiser to decommission one of the Intel/S31 ships. That way, we have one Intel/S31 ship, and one FSS ship, still.

As for the Blackfire CO, I know him, so give me some time to contact him and ask him about it. I'm sure he'll return, perhaps some problem with his computer.

And don´t try to make any own research about us, you might know what the name is, but you does not knows any essential tactiacal status, and I had thought it should stay that way.

Congratulations, the website looks neat! Thank you for your efforts in doing this.

A few suggestions:
1. You currently have "FSS Section Roster" and "SIV Dragon Roster". Perhaps you could rename the latter into "Section 31 Roster", and there also add the roster of the U.S.S. Phoenix since it's also part of this section.

2. Add specs for Kennedy station (they were never defined before, for as far as I know, so that gives you freedom to make of it as you see fit)

3. The link to the SIV Dragon Ship Specs actually links to a page that has the ship specs of both. So perhaps "Section 31 Ships Specs" would be better.

4. On the page I have the S31 ships specs online, I can also add the future specs of the asteroid base. If you want to place this on your pages instead, feel free to do so. It's your call :)

5. As for an About FSS text on the main page, I have the one that was published in the first Expansion Fleet Yearbook (as it was written once by Zack Mannion), so I will get it to you when I have the chance so you can add it on the main page too :)

Thanks again for the effort, it's much appreciated! And I will make you moderator for this forum, it wasn't adjusted yet and it had slipped my mind. Sorry about that.

The Dragon has a small crew but they get stuff done. And I believe that most chief positions are filled.

They are currently waiting for their new mission. After the debrief.

They are the self-appointed protectors of the Federation. Amoral, shrouded in secrecy, answerable to no one, but to me!!! Section 31 is the mysterious covert operations division of Starfleet, a rogue shadow group committed to safeguarding the Federation at any cost.

OFF: Vorak, I am wondering why Duncan McCloud's name is still on as moderator for this forum. He has been reduced to changing his position, (I think :) )

OFF2: Also, I have added some stuff to the intel website, if you want to take a look and tell me if I need to change something, or add some stuff?  http://www.division-fss.tk

This is the F.S.S. article from the first Expansion Fleet Yearbook:

FEDERATION SECRET SERVICE (F.S.S.)

The Federation Secret Service, or F.S.S. in short, was founded in the year the United Federation of Planets was born, in 2161, with as main purpose: to identify and neutralize internal and external threats.

The first Commanding Officer of the F.S.S. was John Mole.  He remained C.O. of the F.S.S. until Zack Mannion discovered that he was leaking information to the Klingons.  This is NOT publicly known and is forever classified.  The only one able to lift that classification is the President of the Federation himself... and he has no intentions to do so, ever.

The F.S.S. is also the largest intelligence organization in the Federation to this day.  Yet, it has kept its secrecy pretty well, even if it is not an organization that is classified, as is the case with Section 31.  The main difference between Section 31, and the F.S.S., is that Section 31 operates within the Starfleet organ, while the F.S.S. directly and ONLY responds to the President. One is allowed to know about its existence, but there it ends.  All other information about the F.S.S., its activities, missions, ships, number of employees, and where their activities are located, is strictly confidential.  Not even the highest admirals know the exact number of crew and ships.

The F.S.S. has a large number of ships that are heavily armed and shielded. They also have good impulse drives, and even a TransWarp generator is standard for all ships. The F.S.S. have not used warp since the beginning of 2300. The crew of their ships and stations are also highly motivated, although not fanatical, as the rumors say about Section 31.

The F.S.S. stations have no real design, they are usually built inside asteroids and other big rocks in space.  This way, it is actually not possible to know if there is a F.S.S. station in the area or not, especially when there are many asteroids in that region.

Well I was thinking either the Phoenix or the Dragon.

Or the Blackfire could also be decommissioned. Since the Blackfire's crew seems to be missing their CO. I don't really know where he has gone.

He said a while back that he is the same  person who controls the Doctor in Avalon.
