That's very observant. There is also a runabout named Sao Paulo I think. Besides, I ran out of names. I had to dig into the Revloutionary War for the Concord. :)

I've only read one ST book. The rest of my ST reading is either sites or fan fiction.

I got it from 'The Genesis Wave', one of my books. Admiral Necheyev assumes command of the Sequoia after she figures out she would rather command a starship as a Captain than have a boring desk job as an Admiral.

Quantum Torpedos, alright. Wasn't the second Defiant called the USS Sáo Paulo, of course it was changed to Defiant later.
