"Yes ma'am." Swift said, he was perfectly fine following her order and doing her plan. He knew she not only had more experience but that it was her decision to make and she was ultimately responsible. She had to go with what she wanted to go with. "Though for the record ma'am,. I didn't think you couldn't do it properly. I just thought my idea was the better one." He wanted to clear that up, he didn't want her to think that he thought she was incompetent.

((OOC: My motherboard is finally fixed, I'll be on regularly now.))

"Commander I have a different idea. I was thinking we could put bio-scanners in this room and then move the package next door. We could put it in the corner in a box with a plant on it or something. You know, hide it in plain sight. Any thief would go to the room with scanners, no thief would think to look in the plant pot stand of a random room. Something to that effect would, I think, be more effective. Especially if we have a decoy package in this room and tell no one else that it is the fake. So only you, me, and of course the Captain would know." Swift explained in all seriousness, he thought that this kind of deception was the only way to really keep it safe from both external and internal threats. He guessed that Commander Dal was all business from the way she neither laughed or reprimand him for the flippant way he had acted. The downside was such officers sometime ignored him because of his lack of professionalism, however the plus side was that sometimes they could appreciate a good idea regardless of the way it was presented.

"I think we should put a bucket of water above the door, you know, so it will wet whoever comes in." Swift said as he backed through the open door. "By the time the thieves have finished drying themselves off we will have them surrounded." He turned back to Dal. "Another idea is a sort of simultaneous jam dropping fire ant releasing device. Either that or if you wanted to Rambo it up a notch we could put in spikes carved from wood that will sort of spring up from the ground."
Swift thought he was normally a good judge of character, but he was a tad apprehensive about trying to pigeon hole Commander Dal. He wasn't sure if she was nice or nasty or trying to cover one with the other or what, he always had trouble with woman. Sure he had a genetically enhanced intellect and senses, but as far as he was concerned you could be the greatest male mind in the galaxy and still not be able to fathom the female mind, let alone one highly trained in deception.

"I never thought we would have the sensors in the open, but anyone half skilled enough to break in to the ship or sneak their way on board and get to the door of this room without being noticed would be able to find out the security systems in place." Swift explained. "Also Ma'am I feel that leaving the real package in this room would not be wise, a decoy should lead the thief away from the package, not towards it. We could always put the package in to one of our quarters and also I would never suggest having no security in place. Just very covert and subtle. I also had the idea that I could start ordering security officers to guard random potted plants throughout the ship." He added and then nodded to Captain Lollock as she entered the room.

"Plan B... how does blow them out of the sky sound for a plan B ma'am?" Swift asked with a slight smile. "Then of course plan C is run away screaming like little girls, plan D is we die horribly in pain, and plan E is we get assimilated."

"Oh, well, sir I don't need much." Swift said and then began to casually list off the things he needed doing. "I just need you to scar the hull, vent a little warp plasma, open one or two sections to space, and create some false readings. Readings that say we have a warp signature of a warp five, have no shields, no phasers, and a small antimatter containment leak. You know, stuff that makes the ship look like a useless piece of rubbish." He added and finally reached the torpedo bay, he had five security officers and they immediatly began the careful process of taking apart highly explosive torpedoes and fitting them with another explosive.

"Captain I'll go and oversee the modifications." Swift told Lollock and then left the bridge, get got out a datapadd and quickly began typing out the specifications for the work he wanted carrying out. He then tapped his comm badge and opened a link to Teranis. "Swift to Commander Teranis, if you are finished with the shields sir is there any chance you could work on the modifications to the ship I have planned? I can handle the torpedoes, however my security team is obviously not as skilled in engineering as you and your team."

Swift walked back on to the bridge, he had successfully put explosives in to all of the torpedoes so they would not fall in the enemy hands.  But more then that he had made it so that the self destruct explosives would trigger secondary explosions and actually set off with the full yield of the torpedo. So if the enemy did take one they would be in for one big surprise.
"Ma'am torpedoes are ready to go and I have routed the self destruct commands to the tactical station and as a backup they can be activated via voice commands by the commanding officer, so you." Swift told her as he took up his position at the tactical station.

OOC: Sorry, my motherboard fried. Also I know it hasn't officially started back up but I really want to post... something.

U.S.S. Iroquois / Captains' Ready Room
February 09, 2008, 09:52:28 AM
Swift entered the captains ready room, he had n idea why she wanted to see him but assumed it would be something either top secret or really bad news, like the mission was most probably a suicide run. He hoped for the former.
Once inside he saw the new second in command, a strong looking Cardassian woman. He had no ill will against Cardassians, his mother might have disagreed of course, and he had been on ships during Cardassian attacks when he was younger. But he he wasn't the kind of person to judge people based on their species. However despite his forward looking attitude there was something about her he didn't like. It was a gut reaction meaning one of two things, either she would be a nasty piece of work or he was attracted to her and didn't want to admit it. He supposed it could even be both. Either way it was a pretty bad situation to be in, though he figured in the long run the latter would be easier to deal with than a bastich of a second in command.
"You wished to see me Captain?" Swift asked levelly but with a slight smile. He rarely had a depressed or even impassive look.

"You guys sent people over to a Heranni ship?" Swift asked. "Some people get to have all the fun." He added before turning to commander Lollock. "I'm no engineer Ma'am and the systems are a bit of a mess, but I should be able to McGyver something together to make it all work."

U.S.S. Iroquois / Mission 1: "Here Comes The Cavalry"
February 17, 2007, 06:57:00 PM
"I don't know much about science." Swift lied, easily. "But I know my tactics, including the Picard maneuver, he didn't create an illusion. Because warp subverts time and space by travelling through sub-space he actually managed to use warp to get ahead of the light, the image, coming from his own vessel. Thus when he got round the back of the ferengi vessel the light from the ship was only just reaching it. We can use such a maneuver as it isn't anything to do with fooling sensors, we are just using the laws of physics to our advantage. How ever it won't last long as when the time catches up the after image will go to warp and we will be the only target."

((OOC: I can not apologise enough for my mistake. I just didn't see the rationality of the enemy following us in to an explosive nebula. Anyway I have edited my post, here is a copy of it. We could just go from there.))
Quote
Hard to tell in this nebula ma'am." Swift replied to the commander. "But why don't we light the way?" He suggested then charged the pulse phasers and also increased the shields to full power to help the enemy get a reading from their vessel. "Commander Lollock I also suggest leaking out some warp plasma from the port vents. It will look as if we have been hit and will leave a nice trail for them to follow."
