"Yes, it is not one of our ships.  I suggest we follow them.  No doubt they are here for a rendezvous of some sort."

"Very well, Commander.  you shall have as many facts as I- I mean we- can gather."

Trell joins Agent Sven Guiss at his station.

The Ambassador leans over Movack's console and peers at a particular reading.  Smirking, he says, "How typical for a Klingon to neglect to question the scientific aspect of the problem.  Can you not see that this signal's carrier wave is tri-helix?  This is not a distress signal, this is a coded official transmission."

The Ambassador narrows his eyes as Movack snarls at him.

Trell moves his head a fraction and smiles to indicate that Salen's point is well taken.  Now he becomes very stiff and formal as he turns to Movack.

"If I may be permitted to examine your fine console further?"  He reaches across to point to a display and says, "This is a tight-beam transmission.  You are not getting static, you are getting the feedback from the reflection of the signal.  If the receiver of this message were there, he would turn the equipment to face the source- thus eliminating this ghost transmission.  This is a standard coded transmission, but because the receiver is not properly tuned I would surmise that either the recipient is dead-or shall soon be dead for dereliction of duty.  Had he done his duty, your ship would never have registered this signal unless you happened to move directly between it and its source."

Trell smiled faintly and moved beside the captain's chair.  "Your question now is, do you persue the source of the signal, or do you investigate the errant recipient?  Your decision, Commander."

Trell stops what he is doing and looks at Commander Salen.  He says, "From what I can see here, your Klingon is right- there is definite transporter activity.  How unfortunate we cannot tell if it was organic or not, or if someone teleported on or off the ship.

Far be it from me to dictate, Commander, but if I were you I would have destroyed that vessel a long time ago and persued it's companion.  What are you going to do now?"

#14
Yes. We also violated it. It seems we both could get in alot of trouble here. Lets forget about this. I suppose you are here investigating the Romulan comm signal. We are too. I propose we work together as a team to find the source. We don't know who it is either.

*Beams aboard*
Hello Captain Ramius. Commander Schmidt. How are you? Take me to your ready room and we shall discuss the comm signal.
