Messages - Rylaan Brish

#1
Walking onto the Mannon, Rylaan sighed a bit. "Just when I was getting used to the Unity..." Shaking his head slightly, he brought his bags to his room, and awaited the order to assemble to stations...

Twisting the blades in his hands for a moment, Rylaan looks at his trial master and states simply "Yes they are... they are the weapon of my discipline."

Looking at the older man, Rylaan takes a deep reassuring breath, possibly his last for a while, and responds "If there's one thing I've learned in my five hundred and fifty-four years of life, is that regret is something you can never truly rid yourself of."

Pausing for a moment, Rylaan notices a pair of matching swords that looked like they would be weighted perfectly for his style. Picking them up, he finishes his statement, he hopes Dongar will find the wisdom of his words.  "If I don't try this, failing or not, I will regret not trying, and I will regret not knowing what Alexia and myself might have become..."

Twisting his hand slightly, Rylaan feels the weight of the swords, and the balance as he finishes "...and that is something I couldn't live with. As a general cultural habit, Trill don't fall in love you must understand. We find it benieth us, and a weakness of the young. It is generally a symbiont's wish to live on a higher plane and to try to rise above those sorts of temptations. For me to have even the thought that I have fallen in love... is something that happenes once, maybe twice in a Trill's entire liniage... I have to see this through to the end..."

"This can't be...." Rylaan states as he looks at his own sword... The blood stains weren't there a moment ago..

"It can't be! I told her I would never betray her..." Dropping to his knees, Rylaan realizes an old human saying

'If it looks like a duck, and it walks like a duck, and it sounds like a duck... it's a duck...'

"Quack.." Rylaan stated as he looked at his weapon again and realizing that all the evidence points to him breaking his oath to Alexia...

"Everything points to me breaking my oath, though I don't believe I have done so. So I place myself at your judgment" Rylaan states, relaxing his defensive posture, accepting what fate Dongar had in store for him...

Smiling as his dish was set in front of him, Rylaan began eating the chicken. During the middle of the meal, he turned to Dongar and stated "So, when do the trials pick up again?"

Waking from his sleep, Rylaan opens the door without putting on his shirt. A smile spreads across his face as the door opens to reveal Alexia. "Hey there..." He begins genuinly happy.

Walking out of the room, he puts an arm around her and hugs her close to him, like he hasn't seen her for a week. "It's time for dinner already eh?"

Taking up his swords, Rylaan feels the need to charge into the fray, defending Alexia's lifless body with his own, but he realizes that would be a fool's errand, and not at all what he promised her. "We must bring this fight inside the temple below us. There we will bottleneck your counterparts and hold them off as best we can. I WILL bring Alexia back to her father for a proper burial..." He states as he lifts Alexia's form, and moves to the other side of the Temple towards the enterance.

Rylaan thought carefully about what to say, but he answered honestly.

"That even the best intentions can cause the worst harm?"

Rylaan asked, truly unsure of his actions. There were a number of lessons he could have stated, but this seemed to be the one that fit the most. The entire excersise focused on him realizing that he killed Alexia, and that he had to take responsibility for it.

Logic dictated that if that were the situation, then it would have been his 'best intentions' that would have brought about the situation he was in...

Rylaan quickly changes, hoping he put the robes on right. Sitting on his bed for a moment, he cleared his mind of all thought. 'Quite handy not to be thinking of anything, when surrounded by those that can read everything you think...' His last thought rang before he calmed himself enough to purly concentrate on the task at hand.

Stepping outside near Alexia, Rylaan stated "Ready..."

Looking up, Rylaan looks towards the peaceful face of his love looking at him. Closing her eyes slowly, he places her gently on the ground, and taking off his shirt, rests her head on it as a pillow. "I've done no such thing...." He states as he stands up.

Looking upon the army of grandmasters before him, Rylaan lowers his swords into a defensive position, and steps around Alexia's now cooling form with a tear in his eye. "And to say that I would betray her...." A rare site is a Trill enraged, but here he stands, tears in his eyes, brows furrowed down till he feels as if they will touch his nose, lips peeled back in a snarl akin to a Klingon.

The situation was Unbeatable, There was no way he could defeat even one Dongar, much less 50,000. He had thoughts of turning to run, but he remembered what he promised Alexia before taking the trials. Looking down at her form, he stands, swords at the ready to defend her now lifeless body.

Standing up, Rylaan bows respectfully, and heads out the doorway. Once out, he sees Alexia standing near the doorway. "Looks like I passed my first Trial..." Looking at her though all he could see was the body in the vision Dongar showed him. "I think I'm going to lay down before dinner. Dongar want's us to join him for dinner, and I'm mildy exhausted..." With that, Rylaan gives her a kiss on the forehead, and goes back to the quarters he was assigned.

Falling onto the bed, Rylaan falls into a mildly fitful sleep.

Blinking as the beam eneded, Rylaan could only say one thing "You could have given me some warning" to Alexia. Rylaan gulped back a twinge of fear as he awaited the tests to begin....

Rylaan thinks about the images Dongar showed him, allowing Alexia to view them.

"You see why it was strange when I saw you just after that." He states after she takes it all in. "Come on..." He states before she can respond... "I'm sure Dongar's getting antsy waiting for us."

With that, he begins to lead her towards anywhere, realizing he's lost, he allows her to lead.

"What?" Rylaan states astonished "What are you talking about?!" Not trying to fight against the blade being held on him, he instead states the only thing he can "Show me..."
