"let me put it this way, the captain and I know eachother we were friends for sometime, and if you need to ask anymore, it may be the last thing you ask. As the captain may throw a fit. so i would suggest leaving it alone and let it lie." she strongly urged

"Yes captain, whatever you say sir. Thank you for avoiding every ounce of personal conversation in that whole time. It's so nice of you to be completely avoidant of your xo and the frienship you once had. I see you never change Simon." she said with a angery tone

*Rena walked out of the ready room quickly and resumed her duties on the bridge*

"Don't bother geting up Brown, you may continue your command over the bridge, I am just observing" she retorted as Brown almost relieved himself

*Rena walked up to Brown and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder*

"I am Commander Rena, I will be your exectutive Officer, and don't be alarmed or concerned, my demeanor is in no way your doing. You are doing an excellent job, glad to see fine officers on this ship." she said then walked to the science station

OOC: sorry to burst your techical manual, but according to "the Star trek encyclopedia" written by majel barrett and Michael okuda, the top speed for any Ambassador ship is Warp 9.9 in emergency situations which can be used for 12 hours max. examples being USS Horatio NCC - 10532 and the USS Excalibur NCC-26517.

"Voyager send out an emitter beam, that alone will give you a read out of deapth perception which should help to get an accruate idea of what we are in for." she suggested calmly

"understood sir, I merely was stating the obvious considering you shouldn't have even questioned my ability to serve on a star ship. You should know my work ethics and loyalty to a ship, but as for control, I do have that and If it makes any difference sir, It is good to see you after all this time. and regardless of past relationships, it does not mean that I ever disregarded our friendship first and foremost." she responded

"Sir, I give you my word I can do my duties with no defect in my judgement. And if anything, our past expirences should only prove to help my judgement, considering I believe I know you well. and you I so it should only improve things." she said with certainty

*she crossed her leg over her other, and leaned forward to continue speaking*

"Simon, I am not sore about the past, it is just that the past, all I ask for in return is the opportunity to continue our friendship and allow me to serve as your XO" she requested calmly

*Rena just looked at Simon with a completely blank look on her face*

"Sir, excuse me, but I was not aware I would be your XO it was an assignment from Starfleet that I took on a whim. And of course I understand the rules. Honestly I have to admit it sir, I used to have feelings, but after everything, I no longer have them. So all I will say it that I will do my duties as your XO and my duties toward the ship, but don't ever make the mistake of thinking that my loyalty lies with my personal feelings, because it doesn't. You broke my heart once, never again sir. And if there is nothing else, I will leave you. " Rena Retorted with anger in her voice while remaining calm

*Rena walked onto the bridge and looked around, then saw the Captain. With a extremely nervous look on her face she spoke*

"Sir, your new XO is here to report in sir." She said waiting for his reaction

*Rena stood up straight from looking down at the panals. and then turned to look at Brown. she walked back to the command chair and leaned down.*

"Brown, I would suggest that you just stick to your security duties and not the personal buisness of those above you in the chain of command. Is that understood?" She said with a stern but sincere voice

"It does not bother me in the least to tell you, but at the captains request I can not. I am sorry it that seems rude, it is not meant to be." she calmly explained
