Kaz looked around the bridge of the Defiant. "Wow," he said, "This ship really takes me back. Hyjal never graduated from Starfleet Academy, but he really wanted to serve on a Constitution-class."

The Trill reached over and pressed a button, rendered almost giddy by the interesting click-beep sound it made.

Kaz picks himself off the floor and stands at his station again.

"Sir, I can't imagine what could cause a wormhole. I'm no engineer, but I'm pretty sure that shouldn't be possible."

Kaz entered the engineering section and strolled up to Captain Brodie with a PADD.

"Sir, Chief Jorel Kaz, reporting in," the Trill said with a smile. "I'm told I'm to be your new security chief."

Kaz looked out of the observatory windows at the glimmering Sovereign-class ship docked at Inner Pylon Seven.

"Whew, she's really something to look at. Congratulations, Captain."
