Ian lays down his PADD and looks towards one of the Ensigns

"Ensign, finish what you're working on, then get a few people together and do a quick diagnostics on the warp cores.  I have a meeting to attend.  I should be back soon."

The Junior Grade Lieutenant leaves through the main engineering hatch and heads towards the conference room.

"Thank you, sir.  I am training in engineering, and my instructer thought the best place to learn would be right here in Nova Division, working on the Intercepter. "

He looks around the hangar in awe.

"This thing is huge...."

A young cadet enters the hangar.

"Cadet Graham reporting for engineering training and duty.  Admiral Hobson told me to report to Admiral Fisher.  I am ready for orders, sirs."

Ian throws up a hand to salute his superiors

Ian drops his tool and wipes the sweat from his brow.  He looks over at one of the other engineers...

"What's everyone massing together for?  We should probably go check it out."

He does a quick check on his equipment and takes off in the direction of the large group.

"Aye sir.  I was just double-checking some of the new installations and everything looks in tip-top shape.  This should prove to be the finest ship in the fleet by a long-shot."

Ian grabs the larger case readily and follows behind his superior.  He looks up at the ship and remembers the time before he joined the academy when he worked on a few ships as a non-commissioned officer.  He knew a lot about engines and starships, but this one dwarfed them tremendously.

He walks a little bit and focuses his attention on what Admiral Fisher is explaining to him, wanting to soak in as much knowledge as possible.

Before the XO takes her leave of the bridge, her comm badge comes to life.

Ma'am, this is Lt. Graham, I am on Deck 6 just checking on a few things and running some diagnostics.  Wanted to make sure everything was in tip-top shape for our trip.  Shall I report to the bridge?

Ian's eyebrows rose with wonder.

"Er.. aye.. aye sir!  Thank you sir!  I will sir!"

The cadet opens the box and a smile forms at his face.

"I will make sure I hold my position to it's up-most potential, sir."

Ian overhears the hail and looks back towards his commanding officer for an answer.

"Sir, Engineering section is running smooth as can be."

"If I am permitted, Admirals, I would like to take the little engineering crew I have and run a Level 1 Diagnostic on the ship.  It should only take a few hours, but I would rather be safe than sorry."

He pauses and watches some of the work being done, before turning back to the Admiral and Commander.

"Where should I start?"

Freedom Station Ops / The Conference Room

A young man enters the conference room.  Apon seeing high ranking officers, his cheery attitude fades and he becomes serious.

"Cadet Graham reporting, sirs!  I was told to report here, I believe, I'm extremely sorry if I have the wrong room...Oh!"

He throws his hand up and salutes his superiors.

"I am here for the engineering training."
