The Dominion War

[Quinn]

Quinn covered his head as sparks flew from above. "Hull breaches on deck four! size casualties reported!" He shouted as the ship shook again.

"We managed to destroy their communications array and warp drive, but their impulse engines are still functional, captain,"

The ship shook once more and Quinn was thrown over, he landed hard on his shoulder and scrambled to get back on his feet. This holodeck simulation was more intense that he first thought.

[Alex Takio]

Takio thinks about this as he keeps an eye on his console

"It might help sir, but I think the best thing to send would be the log of the battle we were in."

[Quinn]

A image appears on screen of a man wearing a starfleet uniform, he seemed tired and flustered. Sparks flew from behind and there were many federation officers running around in the background.

"I'm Commander Torent Lackner, it's nice to see a friendly face," He said in a rough voice.

Quinn did a quick scan of Mars, "Captain, I'm detecting metallic derbies, I believe the Mars Colony has been totally destroyed,"

[Voyager]

Dolan turned to face the officer and said, "This might be confusing but I am Ensign Dolan in the real world and Captain Dolan here in this holoprogram.  Right now you are in a holoprogram that takes place on an Ambassador-class starship called the USS Bismark, several weeks after the battle at Cardassia Prime.  The Federation lost the battle in this holoprogram, though in the real world this battle ended the Dominion War in the Federation's favor.  The ship we are on now survived the battle and went back to the Sol system.  When we arrived, we found the system almost completely deserted.  A fleet of ships had left Sol to protect the rest of humanity from an inevitable attack by the Dominion.  The Dominion attack came and every colony was destroyed and Earth is now occupied by the Dominion.  We found the Jupiter Station still occupied and are evacuating the station now.  A member of Species 8472 and her bioship apparently drove the Dominion from Jupiter Station.  We have coordinates that probably are where the fleet that left here went in case any Federation vessels came back to Earth where we will go to join up with the fleet.  We are going to go to the Delta Quadrant."

Dolan paused for a moment to check if what he was saying made sense and decided it was actually very confusing but chose to move forward, reasoning that the hologram would probably want information, however confusing it is.
He then continued, "However, we should get back to you...I think the program added a mobile emitter to you because you are a hologram on a starship that isn't equipped with holographic projectors in every room on every deck, though that still makes no sense because mobile emitters weren't brought back from USS Voyager yet.  It must be in case any holograms chose to use this program."
Dolan then realized he was getting off topic again and asked, "Did you get all of that? So who are you?"

Dolan then stopped and waited for the hologram to say something.

[Voyager]

Dolan, as he was working on the prototype phaser bank, then remembered the nebula on the border of the Delta Quadrant blocked communications and scanners and asked Takio over the comm system, "How long before we enter the Delta Quadrant?  Maybe we could get off their scanners in the bordering nebula."

Dolan then continued to work on the prototype, hoping it will work since he spent more than a year working on the plans.

[Lois]

OOC: I'm in a rush right now so I I hope you don't mind if I don't change my characters for this one.

IC: Quinn glanced at Takio, "Well Captain, we repaired any major damage right now, the engineerings can handle the rest. I suggest we get back to the bridge where we'll be more useful."

[Voyager]

"Who are they?  While you are figuring out who they are, see if Starfleet left some sort of message for any ships that returned, by buoy, some device, anything." Dolan worried the Dominion had arrived before they did and that Earth was taken over.  He then reasoned that Earth might have been abandoned once they learned the results of the battle and knew that even Earth's defenses couldn't stand up to the Dominion's full force.

Dolan realized he couldn't make an intelligent decision without more information and asked, "Could someone access Starfleet's logs and see what happened here?  I want to know the status of the Federation, its colonies, any information you can get your hands on.  We need to know if they left us coordinates, a destination point, something."

The science officer turned and said, "I have access some information, it seems that Starfleet had taken all ships available and carried as many civilians as possible on a course to the...Delta Quadrant.  I'm transfering the rest of the information to Ensign Quinn, he is the Security Officer of the ship, he should be able to decode the rest of the information."

"Thank you, officer," Dolan said as he turned back to the screen, "Computer, transfer the information accessed be the Science Officer to Ensign Quinn,"

"Information transfered," the computer responded.

"Quinn, after you find out who is on Earth, decode the information and see if you can find any information concerning the location of Starfleet and Earth's inhabitants.  If you find any information concerning location, give them to Ensign Takio.  If you find any information on new ships, weapons, anything, store them in the ship's database and we can look at it more throughly later."  Dolan began to speculate what the life signs might be and wondered if Starfleet had any prototype technology or ships that he could use.

[Voyager]

Dolan was glad he had gotten everybody to make room for more people earlier.

"Find as many people as we can and evacuate them to the ship.  Send the unwounded to empty quarters, we might have to cram a few people in.  Send any injured to sickbay, critically injured first.  We can have a makeshift hospital in Cargo Bay 1 if we run out of in sickbay.  Someone has to activate the EMH," ordered Dolan before he turned to the screen.

"Commander Lackner, I am going to get as many people as I can onto my ship.  You have to get any ships you still have moving and get as many people as you can on the ships too.  Starfleet Command and everyone on Earth has left the system for the Delta Quadrant.  We should follow them as soon as we can.  Any information you have will be appreciated, especially about who is on Earth at the moment.  They appear humanoid, but aren't a species in the Federation," Dolan said rapidly, still worried that the humanoid creatures on Earth were hostile and would attack any moment, "I suggest we move quickly Commander, the Dominion fleet could arrive soon and I don't know if the humanoids on Earth are hostile or not."

[Holographic Officer Beta]

Looking a bit confused, Beta followed Dolan to his ready room. Part of his confusion, was that for some reason, the program had changed his appearance only by the addition of a mobile emitter, as he had left his real one back on the Rivendell. Other than that, he looked exactly the same as he did two minutes ago. But the biggest thing occupying his sub-routines relating to confusion, was still where he was and what was going on. And what to call this 'Dolan' person, Ensign, or Captain?

[Voyager]

"How much more would we get from the warp drive if we shift that same power to the warp drive?"  Dolan asked.  He wanted to see all of his options and chosing the best one.

"Can we outrun them if we put all of the energy in the warp drive?" Dolan asked, preferring to not engage the Breen.

[Alex Takio]

Takio looks at hi console and starts to do a bit of typing, then he presses his combadge

"We should be entering the Delta Quadrant within one to two hours depending on what happens after we ignite the metreon gas trail we'll be leaving behind us within five minutes"

Fingers move as Takio plots the ship ever closer towards and thought the gas field.

"In gas field now, better start taking up some metreon gas"
