[Kawolsky]

"Ah, Ensign. Welcome to Starphoenix Base. If you would like to get straight into work, you may report to my Executive Officer."

[Kawolsky]

*Kawolsky averts his attention from Haynes towards Scotty and the Marines escorting him*

"You are dismissed"   Kawolsky instructs the Marine escort

"Hello, Cadet Scotty. Is Commander Balkazar not with you?"

[scotty]

" yes sir, teh more the better "

[scotty]

" the defiant class has four  Class I rapid fire phaser pulse cannon and one Type X Phaser bank. it has an Auto modulated high capacity shield system, Heavy Duranium/Tritanium double hull plus 20 cm Ablative armor and a High level Structural Integrity Field "

[Kawolsky]

"I am glad to hear that."

[Kawolsky]

*Kawolsky stands to*

"Commander Balkazar, welcome."

[scotty]

" Yes sir, that sounds great "

[Kawolsky]

"If you would like to, then yes, we will"

*Kawolsky walked over to his replicator*

"Water, chilled"   he asked

"Would you like anything cadet?"

[Kawolsky]

"Good idea, but I think there should be a 10 second warning to the person on duty, so that they have chance to get a weapon and ready themselves for transport."

[Kawolsky]

"Very well. I have set the computer to, in the next few minutes, alert us of intruders on the base. The computer will report a random location and I will decide whether to initiate the beam-in program or if it is too risky, seal off the area and await backup."

*A few minutes pass and computer alerts go off*

"Warning. Intruder Alert. Crew Quarters."  stated the computer

"How many intruders present?"   Kawolsky asked the computer, whilst grabbing a phaser

"Four intruders are present"  the computer replied

"Computer, initiate Rapid Response program"

*In the next couple of seconds Kawolsky and Scotty are beamed to the crew quarters. Kawolsk turns to Scotty*

"I make that 16 seconds. You?"

[Kawolsky]

"Goodnight cadet"

*Kawolsky finished some work on his computer and then switched it off and stood up*

"Computer, lights off"

*The lights went off and Kawolsky exited to his quarters*

[John Hawk]

*John Hawk approached Kawolsky's office and pressed the chime. The Security Chief allowed him access. He entered*

"Sir, Ensign John Hawk reporting for duty"

[Kawolsky]

"Very well, since we have been through security, it only seems right that we discuss tactical situaions."  Kawolsky replied

"To begin with , I will give you a scenario to complete, after which we will dicuss starship weapons and technology. Does that seem appropriate? I always like to get the opinion of the cadet, as it is you who is the one learning."

[scotty]

" thank you sir, are there any more questions "
