2342: Graduated from Starfleet Academy but due to his mothers' health-problems he staid home for one year. His mother died in May 2343 and short after the funeral he asked for a position in Starfleet.
His request was granted in July 2343 and was stationed as Third Helm Officer aboard the U.S.S Preston under the command of Captain Hensson.
2345: Promoted by Captain Hensson to Lieutenant and was transferred to the U.S.S Intrepid (NCC – 38907) and became First Helm Officer.
2346: The U.S.S Intrepid responded to the Klingons' distress calls at Khitomer. A brutal attack by Romulan forces on the Klingon outpost had killed 4000 Klingons. The only two survivors were found by the away team, which Montrell was part of. Worf and his nursemaid were safely transported back onboard the Intrepid.
2348: Montrell brushed up his Tactical/Security skills at Starfleet HQ on his shore leave, and took the position of Chief Tactical aboard the U.S.S Intrepid. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, after accepting this post.
2352: Montrell was in charge of the murder-investigation on Commander Gelespi aboard the U.S.S Intrepid, while returning to Earth for a computer-systems upgrade. This investigation ended with two arrests. Two Lieutenants had killed commander Gelespi while he was sleeping. The commander was, according to the two Lieutenants, "A danger to the Federation". The day the U.S.S Intrepid arrived at Earth, the two Lieutenants had disappeared from their holding cell. Montrell suspected that S31 was involved in the disappearing and he reopened his case. Shortly thereafter he was ordered to move, his new workspace would be Starbase 24.
2356: He got back to Earth and began studying Federation Law and wanted to start a new career as JAG officer or Diplomat. He wanted to punish the ones that did wrong, his decision was partly made because of the happenings on the U.S.S Intrepid.
2358: Montrell was assigned to the U.S.S Yamato (NCC – 71807) as diplomat.
2360: He was transferred briefly to the U.S.S Preston for a diplomatic mission. Two months later he was transferred back to the U.S.S Yamato.
2362: He was transferred to the U.S.S Melbourne (NCC – 62043) Under the command of Captain Verga, who was to become a special part of Montrell's life
2364: The Melbourne was stationed at Starbase 74, when the Bynars hijacked the Enterprise-D, but was unable to give chase because of maintenance in progress.
2365: Montrell and Jennifer Verga began to date.
2366: Montrell and Jennifer decide to transfer themselves to Starfleet HQ Earth. Commander William Riker was offered command of the U.S.S Melbourne but he declined the promotion, preferring to remain executive officer on the Enterprise-D. Starfleet HQ asks Captain Verga to remain CO for a while, two more years was agreed by both parties.
2367: 40 Federation starships tried in vain to prevent a Borg invasion of Earth. The U.S.S Melbourne was one of these 40 starships. During the fight, the Melbourne's bridge took heave fire and was completely destroyed with it all the officers on duty. Montrell, JAG Commander at that time, was not on the bridge but had to respond to the "abandon-ship" procedure. He made it to the escape-pods but he had to leave his one and only beloved behind.
2368: He was promoted to Captain and was placed under the JAG Command of Phillipa Louvois.
2371: Was decorated by Starfleet Command, due to outstanding work and for the dedication towards Starfleet. He was also promoted to Major.
2374: Major Montrell was transferred to Starfleet HQ Earth. He became XO of the JAG Department and began to give lessons at the Academy.
2376: Promoted to Commodore and took the CO position in the JAG Department.
2378: Asked for a transfer to the newly installed Expansion Fleet, located at the borders of the Delta Quadrant. Starfleet HQ agreed and Montrell became JAG Department CO and head of the Sector Delta Quadrant as there was no knowledge of other station in the vicinity. He was also promoted to Rear Admiral because of his long career in Starfleet.
2379: Took the responsibilities of Third in Command over Expansion Fleet. He was hereby given the rank of Junior Fleet Admiral. This rank change was in consultation with Starfleet Command.

Personal:
After Montrell's birth in 2320 his mother moved to San Francisco, because she could raise a several months old child alone. Montrell's father had left his mother before Montrell was born. He didn't want to have any connections with the child and disappeared for good.
Montrell's mother bought an own house in 2324 and they lived there for many years. In 2338 Montrell attended Starfleet Academy and his mother was suddenly alone. His mother couldn't deal with the loneliness and she became sick in late 2342. Montrell decided to enter Starfleet a year later as planned and stayed home to care for his mother. She died in 2343 with Montrell at her side.
Montrell wanted to perform as one of the best in Starfleet, as a debt to his mother. After the murder-incident on the U.S.S Intrepid and the dishonest ending of it, he decided he wanted to change his career. He wanted to judge the right and wrongs in the Federation so he entered the JAG Corps.

Hobbies:
He likes to spent time on the holodeck and trips to other planets are also fine. As long as he can lay down his work and do something else for a change.
