"SO that was a little faster then I wanted it to be but as long as you get the information that you need I suppose there is nothing to worry about.  
Speaking of which, what are you interested in?  Is there something you would like to do.  Science, engineering, medical.  All of them are fields that you could very easily qualify for.  Would you like to see about engineering?"

[Morgan Freeman]

"I suppose it has to do with your mother, she made me promise that I would let you decide for yourself what you would like to do with your life.  I suppose it keeps echoing in my head.  As for being a starship computer, I suppose it would be very easy to interface you with a ships computer and downloading an interface avatar into the computers mainframe.  Is that what you would like to experiment with my dear girl?"

[Larial]

Larial stopped what she was doing immediately at the orders of her creator.

"Affirmative Morgan."

Larial's sub-processor began running a diagnostic on her Positronic Matrix. Two seconds later the diagnostic was complete, so she articulated the report.

"My Positronic Neural Net, currently has a floating storage capacity of 250 petabytes of information, with a calculation capability of 12 gigabytes a second. Currently all systems are functioning within normal parameters."

Larial new very well her creator didn't ask for a full systems efficiency rating, but it was good to be thorough...wasn't it?

[Larial]

Larial, took in the information and calculated a response for her creator's question.

"Actual Morgan I have two questions; What is my purpose? And will anyone want to know about me?"

Larial's Positronic Net was almost fully acclimatized to her surroundings and her life so-to-speak.

[Morgan Freeman]

"Relax dear girl, you suffered an overload that caused your power core to overload.  Give me a few moments to fix the problem and then you will be ok.  How are you feeling?"

[Morgan Freeman]

"T'lana, this is my daughter Larial, she is a soong type android."  Morgan said trying to control his laughter at T'lana's reaction.  

"Larial, this is my very good friend and coworker T'lana of vulcan."

[T'lana]

"Indeed...then if she has not chosen yet, or does not know, then I suggest that she is not mature enough as yet to make that decision. It also depends on what you designed her for, for instance I noticed the Computer Interface. Perhaps she can simply stay with you in engineering, learning from you as she goes, then perhaps she may make a decision. You could also simply program her with all the information required for any situation."

T'lana paused to size Larial again...

"There is another possibility perhaps that you have not considered. There is a civilization from a planet called Tarn-Vedra, the populace use Artificial Intelligence Entities that are placed on their vessels, Drifts and any other locale where they are needed. These AIE's have Android Avatars, physical representations of the AI core. Perhaps Larial could become such an entity, but slightly in reverse, she could become the AIE for a starships computer core and the avatar simultaneously."

[T'lana]

T'lana looked at Morgan.

"You seem to be rather preoccupied with Larial's vocation Morgan, it is illogical to keep asking her the same question repeatedly."

[Morgan Freeman]

"Very nice, well done" Morgan says pleased with the progress made.  

"Now I need you to do several things for me.   First I need you to access file Morgan engineering 15-A, you should find a basic technical documentation on warp core construction.  Also I need you to access medical file 8-C and tell me the basics of the human nervous system.  Finally, tell me how you feel."

[Morgan Freeman]

Morgan chuckled a little bit a Larial's response, "A little to technical my dear girl.  It is an Establishment designed for recreation of off duty starfleet personnel.  They can order food and drink and socialize with on another.  Some say that it is actually the place to get to know anyone in the fleet.  Do you have any questions?"

[Larial]

"Feeling? I do not know, wait, I feel scared...afraid that I will cease to function."

Larial closed her eyes and ran a self-diagnostic...

T'lana was shocked by the sudden hug, by the blonde woman, but regained her composer. What shocked her the most though, was the woman's question to Morgan.

"Care to explain Mr. Freeman?" T'lana asked, returning to her usual Vulcan manner.

[Morgan Freeman]

"Perhaps your right about her not being mature enough to choose for herself yet.  Yes I did design her to act as a starships computer core should the need arise.  However, I do not want to limit her to being simply an appliance for us to use as we would like.  Would you be willing to spend some time with her T'lana, maybe teach her from a womans point of view some of the aspects of life.?"

[Larial]

Larial frowned.
"T'lana's love interest in science has been passed on to me and I have an interest in engineering, so I guess in time I shall download that information, but also T'lana's suggestion of being the core of a starship sounds interesting as well. I too would like to know why you keep asking father? I have only been just activated and have a lot to learn."

[Larial]

Larial was pleased that her creator liked the information given and was eager to continue pleasing him.

"Affirmative Morgan."

Larial had finished her basic citation of the nervous system, but was perplexed by her creator's last question.
