Givrillian Sarpedon

"What course shall I set, Captain?" Sarpedon asked, helm now fulled powered up and ready for use. As he said it, he powered up the impulse drives and manoeuvred the ship out of the dock.

Taurik

(OFF: I was under the impression that that was the textbook description of a standard warp drive. Pull A and B closer together so it takes less time to get there, essentially. Hence the term "warp".

Of course, being that "warp drive" is such a loose term, it could also be the idea that, since positive amounts of mass are unable to attain light speed, and objects of zero-mass (as in light) can reach exactly light speed, that an object of negative mass would be lighter than light, and can exceed light speed. The warp shell alters the physics of the surrounding area and creates a bubble of negative mass. Within the bubble (as in, onboard the ship), all is normal, but outside the ship, the bubble is able to exceed light speed.

T'lana, you've researched this more than I have. Let me know if I'm on target here...)

Morgan Freeman

"The jump drive has used 25% less power then a standard warp jump and structural integrity is at 99.7%.  It appears we have had a successful test Captain"  Morgan says from the engineering station.

Chaya Sar

Chaya Sar climbed up to where Morgan was in the cockpit and sat on the nose of her fighter. Bending down she smiled at Morgan on the way and had a look at the fuel Indicator.

Straightening back up, she looked at Morgan and stated,

"Well the fuel tank is half full. The Viper is an economical Starfighter when it comes to fuel. Tylium is a High-Energy fuel, I have no idea what it's made of though."

Chaya Sar looked around the Bay while still sitting on the Viper-Class Space Superiority Starfighter.

Chaya had two weapons on her person. On her left side was her Lightsaber, a Jedi's weapon and her preferred weapon when on a mission, naturally. On her right side and sitting comfortably in it's holster was an energy weapon, called by the beings of her home galaxy as a Blaster Pistol, or just Blaster for short.

The Lightsaber works by emitting highly charged ionized plasma enveloped in an electromagnetic shield. The Lightsaber replenishes fuel as it uses it from an atmosphere.
The Blaster is a Tibanna LASER based weapon powered by a micro-fusion powercell. The LASER pulse is accelerated by an electromagnetic coil along the barrel. There are two settings to a Blaster Pistol; Stun and kill.

"Do you think you can synthesize a fuel form me Morgan is it?"

Morgan Freeman

"Alright I will start the process right now.  The replicators should be able to make up the entire chemical formula if we get it just right.  I would like to test it before we load your fighter with a full load."  Morgan begins the process of creating the fuel and then taps his combadge

=A= Freeman to Taurik =A=
The chemical formula for the fighters fuel has been analyised and the replicator is beginning the building process.  We will be able to replicate the first actual fuel in about 1 week

Chaya Sar

"Thank you Taurik. I would like that as well."

Chaya Sar thought for second, then stated. "Now, about this mission you are on, what can I do to help?"

T'lana

"Indeed." Stated T'lana as the turbolift reached it's destination.

T'lana and Chaya got out of the turbolift and made their way to Transporter Room Two with T'lana in the lead.

Before going to Transporter Room Two, T'lana stopped by that decks Armory and picked up a Type II Phaser and placed it and it's holster onto her uniform. T'lana was about to give one to Chaya when she remembered Chaya's Blaster Pistol and Lightsaber, deciding that giving her another weapon would be pointless.

Closing the Armory - T'lana prefers to use a Vulcan Tricorder - T'lana and Chaya Sar made their way to Transporter Room Two.

Holographic Officer Beta

Beta moved through the Borg vessel unhindered. Either the Borg didn't realise he was there, or he wasn't worth their attention.

Left.....Third right......Second Left....

Beta followed the memorised route in his head, getting closer and closer with each moment. Left...Right....Right....Left...Straight on.....

Finally, he turned the last corner, and there was the Transwarp node, glowing with an eerie green light. There were no Drones in the vicinity. Attaching the transporter beacon, he activated it, and tapped his ComBadge.

=/\="Ensign Beta to the Rivendell. Beacon placed, ready for transport."=/\=

As soon as he said this, two Borg drones rounded the corner and opened fire on him, seemingly alerted to his presence by the signal from the beacon. Beta crouched, and rolled to the left, attempting to draw their fire from the node - it had to be in good condition to be of any use - and returned fire.

Taurik

Taurik removed the rank pin from it's box, as well as the old rank pin from Sarpedon's uniform, and then pinned the CPO pin to the red collar of his uniform.

After moving the old pin and box off to the side, Taurik retrieved the second case. "Ensign Beta. You have displayed a devotion to this crew, and to me personally, that is undeniable. You have put yourself at risk in lieu of another several times, and have performed your duties far beyond that which is expected. Your single-handed capture of the Borg transwarp coil, while against the orders of your commanding officer, was heroic, to say the least, and I personally appreciate it immensely. It is for these reasons that I hereby grant you the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, and award you the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor."

Taurik opened the box and displayed the black rank pin, and the larger, blueish medal.

T'lana

OOC: It's not only fair Luke, it is mandatory. All counseling must be done in closed quarters under protection of anonymity, subject to review by the ship's commanding officer or first officer, where necessary. It is a military vessel after all.

IC:

T'lana nodded to Morgan and sat down in the chair vacated respectfully by him. Looking at the datastream uncovered a discrepancy that actually should not exist.

The data showed that the intermix chamber, deuterium storage and injector system, antimatter storage and injector system and Electro-Plasma System; were all functioning correctly. T'lana also scanned the telemetry from the Warp Nacelles. There was nothing wrong with the verterium cortenide warp coils and the electro-plasma was flowing correctly through the nacelles in alignment with the Verterium cortenide to create the warp field. In fact the entire Warp Drive system, was functioning correctly, then it hit her, after half and hour of going through the data.
T'lana pointed to the waveform grid display.

"It's as I suspected, the new warp core generates more potential energy, 2.4 billion electron volts. The previous core produced 2.1 billion electron volts. The additional potential energy, is causing the Jump Drive to spin-up prematurely, causing the power drain. As you know, the Jump Drive is connected to the Electro-Plasma System that travels from the warp core to the nacelles. The Jump Drive normally uses a switching system of anodyne relays that prevent the Jump Drive from spinning up prematurely, but they are set at the exact potential energy of the core. You will have to remodulate the anodyne relay switching system."

Chaya Sar

Chaya Sar was pleased to be doing something constructive, although a peace keeper by nature, it was a good feeling to be useful.
As the force is in no way telepathy, Chaya used her force sense ability to see the invaders' aura through the door.
Once the Heraani were just outside the door, Chaya activated it and before the invaders could react, one of them was force pushed against the adjacent bulkhead. In one quick and precise action, the Heraani was cleaved in two by Chaya's Lightsaber, leaving the other to Taurik's attack.

Taurik

Taurik leaped from his seat, drawing his khala in midair and cleanly removing the drone's head before his boots hit the deck.

Invariably, as Petty Officer Sarpedon fought the Borg tractor beams, the propulsion systems began to wear down. It was only a matter of time before the Rivendell was drawn into the aperture on the front of the sphere.

"This is Captain Taurik to all hands," he said, tapping his commbadge. "Prepare to repel boarders."

T'lana

T'lana looked up at the image of the Rivendell's AI from the PADD she was working on.

"I thought Starfleet Engineers were supposed to be miracle workers, perhaps this is a tall tale as you humans say." T'lana stated wryly. Vulcans claim not to have a sense of humor, but this is usually not the case.

T'lana

"Indeed, that is what concerns me."

T'lana felt another electric shock go through her body. She couldn't wait anymore, so she took out her tricorder and began scanning herself, well the nanites inside her anyway.

The tricorder showed several thousand nanites offline, but millions of the nanites were still online and functioning correctly.
Closing the tricorder and putting it away, T'lana couldn't help but to feel a sense of relief, but made a mental note to find the cause of the malfunctioning nanites.

"It seems I must do the same." Stated T'lana.
