After beaming back to the ship, captain Sanchez arrives at the bridge.

"Mr. Odo, activate tractor beams, we will drag Neelix' ship into our shuttlebay.  Be careful, it's not an easy procedure.  Mr. Madison, report to the bridge asap to assist Mr. Odo.

Lt. Marou, prepare to assemble a team of technicians to start repairs on Neelix' ship right away.

Cmdr. Chemia, prepare sickbay to receive injured crewmembers. Report when ready.

All stations, blue alert.  I repeat, blue alert."

"We discovered something rather strange with this man's DNA. It's changing every hour, I took 7 samples the last couple of hours and it seems he has been infected with some alien Virus. This Virus-RNA is not similar with that of Species 8472, after the first encounter. I looked it up in the medical records and found some interesting data.
It seems one of the crewmembers on the USS Voyager, by then name of Ensign Harry Kim, was infected with the Virus of specie 8472. The doctor onboard made a cure by using nanoprobes to infiltrate his bloodstream and those probes killed the virus.
This Talaxian man, has got some similar signs of the Virus, but he also has signs that are totaly different. The Ensign board Voyager was covered with a strange skin, which was produced by the Alien Virus.
The Talaxian man aboard, is totaly normal on the outside. But within he is certainly sick.
And what I was saying about the difference in the Virus RNA, this can be the work of Evolving. Species 8472 may be changing, due to the protal to our dimension. A serie of explanations is possible here...."

"I was also working on these samples to determine in what condition this man now is. Maybe we can help him, but then we have to find a different approach, cause we don't have nanoprobes to put in his bloodstream."

*Leaves his console and stands besides the Commander"

"I hope I wasn't to fast in my words...I sometimes go a little bit to fast..Ow and for I forget, the man has a sensor from sickbay in his neck. I thought this way we could monitor any strange reaction in his body."

"Mr. Dalon, I belive species 8472 does not need an oxigen atmophere to survive. A class M planet wouldn´t be needed for them to create a colony. If we were to make an assumption, I would say it might be a Loxian settlement, or someone else´s settlement, or even not a colony at all. If it is Loxian, that might give us an anwser, about where that debris and the warp signature came from."

Sir. If we are to seal the gate, it must be done within the next minute. After this the ship will come through and the singularity wil be protected again.

Commander Lagos, the other four Loxians ships are retreating. But with what I've heard about Loxians, they will return soon, in larger numbers, to attack us or the 8472, Im not sure.

Our current state of "truce" does not give you the right of demanding explanations, Federation. But since you asked so politely and helped us against the Loxians, I may tell you, that the attacks on the Delta Quadrant were a mistake, and they are no longer being made.

The planet is evacuated. We are ready to proceed. But before doing so, we would like to thank you Federation. And we will let the biological probes orbiting the planet here, but they will die in two days, so you have help with the Loxians in case they come back at this time.
