Mission 11: "Impromptu Heroism"

"Oooh, you bet I can, kid. Weapons are fully charged and ready to blow those suckas out of the sky!" he said, manually aiming the weapons at the cloaked vessels, waiting for the opportune moment.

Fair enough. As I said before, I'm used to piloting all kinds of ships, but I've never been able to pilot a Federation Starship before. The closest I've got is the pilot of the shuttle I took to the Rivendell letting me have a go at the controls. Is it true this can go at Warp 9.9?

T'lana stared  out at the starfield as the Slipfighter flew towards Avalon Station at half lightspeed.

@@"I intend to destroy the space-doors, it is the only logical choice seeing as they have no power. Follow me through and dock the Kelata with the USS Rivendell, I shall do the same with the Slipfighter. Once on board the Rivendell, we shall use the Kelata's transporters and beam aboard the station in the Celtic Corner. Weapons and tricorders will be required.@@

The Slipfighter at 50psl reached Avalon station in 2 minutes from the slippoint, T'lana throttled back the MPDD and brought the Slipfighter to an all stop in front of the station's space-doors.

Firing the AP Canons and Plasma Missiles, the space-doors were pulverized.

T'lana piloted the Slipfighter into shuttle bay one of the USS Rivendell and shut down the propulsion systems.

The hatch to the Slipfighter opened automatically as T'lana grabbed a forcelance from it's clasp in the Slipfighter as well as a comlink.

T'lana placed the forcelance between her breasts and the comlink in to her pocket, just in case there was trouble on the station, she did not want to be caught disarmed. Intending to use traditional Starfleet equipment, leaving the Vedran equipment as back up.

[Taurik]

"We now have warp drive, shields and weapons available again," Sanchez said, turning back to his viewer.

"Very well," Taurik replied. "We should make haste toward the fortress world. The Rivendell will maintain an escort position near you, to ensure your safety against any possible attacks. Rivendell out."

The viewer returned to the image of the Evolution, still leaking slight amounts of purple warp plasma from it's starboard warp nacelle. Taurik looked at his helmsman. "Crewman, lock us in formation with the Evolution. Keep us 2500 meters off of their port stern."

"T'lana and I thought it best, the introduction of a culture from another galaxy, might be misconstrued as a prelude to invasion."

T'lana spoke up,

"Morgan, it would be more logical just to show you, then you will understand."

"i'll be right behind you beta, afetr i finish up here."

<he walks over and grabs two phasers from the rack behind the con, puting one on his belt.>

The ships weapons began firing at the enemy vessels - hitting only the militarised ones, not that there were many vessels in the system other than that. Beta's hands were flying over the controls with machine proficiency, and he had a content look on his face.

"Beginning active scanning now, Captain." he said in a voice that to a simple observer would have made them question whether there was anything out of the ordinary, such as the small battle going on between the Heraan ships and the Thunder

"Captain, I read 5 cloaked ships in the system of a Heraan military design. Two are moving towards us. Also I -" and he stopped there, the calm persona shattering as he saw what the sensors were showing. He flickered.

"What the flaming hell is that thing? It looks like - I don't know, it keeps on shifting on and off the scans, as though we were scanning normally and it had a malfunctioning cloak. Sir, it seems to be some sort of Station by the looks of it, and judging by the glimpses I get it's still under construction. It seem to be of Heraani design, but it seems to have some sort of technology that's meant to be even harder to detect than a cloak!"

He flickered again.

"The git's hiding by the 5th Planet of the system and two of those regulars are hanging around it too." by the time he had finished, the non-cloaked vessels had all been destroyed, defence stations included.

"Orders?"


((Thought I'd just add something in here http://www.expansionfleet.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> let me know and I'll remove it if you like, but my idea was for the Heraan to be trying to build some sort of super weapon on a space station and make it almost impossibe to detect with all current methods of scanning - the only reason it keeps flickering onto the active scans is because it's not finished yet. Lemme know what you think))

"All hands, this is Lieutenant Commander T'lana, you are all dismissed till further notice, to all new recruits congratulations on completing your first mission."

T'lana new that was an illogical thing to say, but when surrounded by emotional beings it was prudent to give them a proverbial pat on the back.

After logging out, T'lana made her way to her quarters, had a sonic shower and changed her uniform, had something to eat and began her nightly mediation.

She had no need to escape from the USS Rivendell and no where really to go anyway, so she made a personal log and then slept, wondering what tomorrow would bring.

Three hours later, T'lana awoke, had a sonic shower, dressed and then had breakfast
After her morning meditation, T'lana spent the rest of the day checking systems on the USS Rivendell, wondering all the while if she would meet the Gallifreyan in person again, the very Gallifreyan who helped her upgrade the Kelata and the very same Gallifreyan everybody new simply as the Doctor.

[Morgan Freeman]

"I have been to hell and back it seems.  I received word from a college of mine that a piece of hull from a ship I helped build had been located.  So I went to find it and the close friend that was piloting the craft.  Sadly neither the craft nor the vessel was operational."

Morgan gets tears in his eyes.

"Anyway, I am so glad I saw you again, I missed you."

Lieutenant Commander T'lana - Chief Science Officer, walked onto the Bridge and logged into the main Science Station after the Captain called for all hands.

"Lieutenant Commander T'lana reporting for duty Captain, your orders?" T'lana stated.

At exactly 2000 Hours the door to T'lana's quarters chimed.  After a quick enter from T'lana Morgan walked in clean shaven and looking well rested.  

"Hello my dear, the dinner looks lovely." He said as he held out flowers.

Arriving on the Rivendell, T'lana went straight to her quarters, showered, applied make-up and dressed in an evening gown made of the finest Rigelian silk and tights to compliment the gown.

Setting the table with two everlast candles, cutlery etcetera and went to the Replicator and ordered a three course meal, consisting of Plomeek Soup for T'lana and Pumpkin Soup for Morgan. Followed by the main meal of beef stroginoff for Morgan and a Vulcan dish for herself. Dessert was more difficult,  as Vulcans don't usually eat dessert, but T'lana was rather partial to chocolate, even if it did make her intoxicated. So she ordered a Chocolate Sundae for the both of them, placing Vulcan Brandy on the table as an after  dinner salute.

"Computer, time?"

"Computer: 1957 hours."

T'lana got into the Slipfighter and powered up her systems, engaging the throttle the Magneto Plasma Dynamic Drive engaged and the Slipfighter sped out of the Rivendell and out of Station Avalon in a few seconds.
T'lana piloted the Slipfighter to the maintenance hatch of the station's reactor chamber and held position.

"I am in position Morgan, open the hatch and then beam to the Slipfighter."

T'lana brought the MPDD back to zero and altered the Gravity Field Generator's center of gravity to hold position.
