"I dont know, Richerd.  Seems that no one needs to be rescued.  Something will happen soon, I HOPE!.  For now go and make sure all the raw recruits have there gear and report back to me." Balkazar told Richerd after he calmed down.

Will Karelia

"And that is where you are wrong, Colonel. The captain of this ship is a naval Starfleet officer, as is the first officer. You will treat them with the respect they deserve as your superiors. I'll not have my officers biting each other's heads off because they think one or the other owns this vessel. Remember that traditional Starfleet officers as well as Starfleet Marines are both under my command. And if I say you'll be working together, you will. And the chain of command will be respected. I don't care, Colonel, if you were wearing a General's star, you are still under the command of both the captain and first officer. And when I stay Starfleet Marine, Colonel, I mean just that. You have this notion that you are different and somehow separate from Starfleet, and you are not. You were trained to fire a rifle rather than fire a torpedo, to sprint rather than maintain a warp field. This does NOT make you better than them, nor are they better than you. I expect you to drop this superiority complex you have. Are we understood?"

Sirs, 1st LT. Mitchell Nesbitt MD reporting for duty.
.
1st LT. Mitchell Nesbitt (Marine Doctor)

Mason

"Look, look there Maguid. Balkazar is saying something in secret to his men. We're meant to be a team but there seem to be clear divisions already between the marines and navy."

"I wonder if they are planning anything. In the mean time however we'd better make our way for our check-up."

Mason notices the phasers each marine is carrying.
He turns to get Kozlov's attention
"Kozlov could you escort me and perhaps maguid also to sick bay for our appointments with the doctor. Its just that I don't know the way and i get lost easily" lies mason

Mason

Mason stands bemused as Maguid happily walks over the Marines and introduces himself.
"On second thoughts Kozlov. I won't be needing your assistance. My trip the doctor has been delayed."

Mason utters quietly
"Who would have thought that a Romulan would just go up and say hi to a marine? Either his one brave romulan or times are indeed changing."
"You've put me to shame Maguid" mason says under his breathe

Mason takes in a large amount of air and exhales it slowly as he begins to walk over to John and Balkazar and begins to introduce himself.
"Greetings Colonel and Private, I am Lieutenant Mason, Operations Officer for this vessel. It is my pleasure to meet you both."
He straightens his back knowing that's a sign of respect for marines and waits nervously for a reply.

Will Karelia

"Walk with me, Colonel."

As the two entered the turbolift and began to tour the vessel, the admiral spoke up. "I know you're very protective of your men, I've seen it before. But you'll need to come to realize that although, they are your marines, you are the captain's subordinate, which makes them his marines as well. Just like a security officer takes orders from their chief, they take even higher orders from the captain. Now, I don't expect Captain Titan will be stepping on your toes every five seconds, but when and if he does, be prepared to step aside, because it's his ship, like it or not. Believe me, you're not the first leatherneck to be in this situation, but it's the way the world works. I'm sure you'll get used to it, and you'll be working flawlessly with Captain Titan and Commander Wallace soon enough."

Balkazar

"Very good, At ease everyone.  Richerd see what you can do about helm."

"General, I hope your trip here to this lil dry dock wasnt a problem?"

William Richerd

Richerd nodded to Balkazar. "Right sir, I'll see what I can do to helm to make her up to date." He was looking forward to seeing how some of those controls looked like when they were taken apart, he knew how to put things together, but he would have a diagram just in case he gets lost.

He then notices the new officer. "Ah, welcome aboard sir."

Mason

Mason sees a flurry of faces enter the bridge
"Welcome, welcome all"
Ahh you must be Mr. Nesbitt the ships doctor. I'm sorry for not reporting for my check-up, but i assure you. I'm in the greatest shape of my life. And i don't trust scientific medicine. I'm more old fashioned like that. Forgive me if i find your methods a bit medievalism."

mason turns to Kozlov
"By you're posture and presence, you must be the chief of security. Your no nonsense attitude gave that away. I could here that little quarrel with you had with Ressik from my own quarters!
Let's hope you can stand toe to toe with Balkazar also. From what I've heard he hates the chain of command and despises authority."

mason looks down and begins to think to himself
Balkazar sounds like a typical old marine veteran to me. We may need someone like him to question the captains orders where need be.

Mason looks up and to his surprise its his old Romulan friend
"Greetings friend. I was beginning to wonder if our days on the USS Phoenix where our last together.
I'm sure glad i have you to watch my back. So tell me...  How's this crew been treating you? You gotten in any fights yet" laughs mason.

"Good, thank you.  I hear you have pilot training ? For the time being Ill have you as the pilot if you wish to accept it.  Besides, I need you to help fix helm on this ship.  Its been in storage for far to long."
