Captain, whatever there is ahead of us, I think we still should be careful since we can't be sure what we don't see. What are our further orders?

"Captain, I am now getting strange readings from that Moon and the M-Class planet...as if they suddenly pulled up a kind of curton around them, a cloak maybe?"

'Captain, this was the last message we received from the shuttle.'

He handed Göransson a PADD.

'They were just about to approach this 'moon', when suddenly some kind of interferences caused the communication to break off. Since then we were only able to receive highly interfered messages.

Our sensors registrated a ship de-cloaking at the position of the 'moon'. As it had its weapons online, I ordered yellow alert. I tried to contact the away team to warn them of the strong aggressions I was sensing, but we are not sure if they were able to receive it. The shuttle seems to be returning to the ship very slowly, but, we can only speculate what else is going on there at the moment. From what I've been sensing I can only say that there has indeed been communication contact between the shuttle and the other ship.'

Stiegler turned to Skon.

'Good idea, Lieutenant. I will try to find out more about the way those lifeforms talk to each other. Maybe we will find a way to contact them, so we can explain our intentions to them.'

*Skon groans and tries to stand. Zax's treatment has helped him, but he is still very weak. He is breathing hard.*

Please, Captain...the telepathic aliens are still aboard that ship...don't destroy them...I believe Thom...the Counselor...can locate them...They warned us...

Hm.... This is more and more starting to look like a trap to me... Can u launch a class 1 probe into the worm hole? Then take us closer to that moon from where the signal came from. I want to settle all this as soon as we can...

Excellent acting, Counselor. What is the status of the ship? Any markings that tells us where it comes from?

Curious, Captain. I offer two pieces on analysis about Commander Dereth and his ship. First, he is obviously a capable commander. He "disabled" the Rivendell in a sneak attack, which left only us to deal with. While the Skytoucher is a worthy vessel, she is hardly a warship. So Dereth clearly disabled what he perceived as the greater threat. That may give us some clue as to his ship's true capabilities.

I say "true capabilities" because I'm not certain that anything we're seeing is "real." Consider: When Dereth fist contacted Lt. Vartin and myself aboard the Fermi, he appeared as a human. Now we see a human and a Vulcan, but only after I responded to his hail with a visual transmission, and provided him with the image of a Vulcan for reference. Since Counselor Stiegler has already established that these beings employ mental energy in their technology, it is possible that we are being deceived. Of course, I cannot be certain, but there is a possibility that there is no ship out there -- or that the ship may be vastly different than we perceive. It is also quite possible that the Rivendell hasn't disappeared at all, but is sitting 1,000 km off our port stern, exactly where she should be...

The Counselor tried to get up from the floor, but he seemed to be in a much weaker condition than Skon. Obviously the mind-melt had caused some damage to his body. But at least he seemed to be himself again.

'Captain, please don't fire back! Thanks to Lieutenant Skon's mind-melt I could finally establish contact to the lifeform that was in my body. After Skon had helped me out of my mental blockade the lifeform was able to read Skon's and my whole psyches, so now they know everything about us and our mission that Skon and I know. The lifeforms understand our intentions and are willing to help us against the NSC, but to do so they will need more energy. We must keep the modified deflector beam activated so that they get as much energy from us as possible. If they get strong enough, they will be able to escape from the NSC ship to return to the planet. Having lost their energy resource the NSC won't be a threat for us any longer and even the Rivendell should get out of the telepathic prison.'

*Skon looks up from his screen as he finally understands the gravity of the situation *

Helm, set course to 113 mark 8. We need to pick up as many survivors as we can.

Engineering, prepare all transporters to evacuate survivors as soon as we are in range.  We don't have time to dock the escape pods, because we have no idea when the attacking aliens may return.
