USS Skytoucher - Mission 3: Joint mission with USS Rivendell

Captain, while Mr. Vartin is piloting us to the cloaked moon, I reviewed some of the scans we received from the Skytoucher to gather additional data. The rift we encountered seems to be similar -- but not identical -- to the "gate" that USS Voyager scanned when she first encountered Species 8472, but I can't be certain without full access to the ship's computers.

I am transmitting my data and the -- approximate -- position of the cloaked moon for your analysis. It might also be helpful if Commander Stiegler could let us know of any mental impressions he senses in the space in front of us.

Lt. Commander Stiegler, the last known position of the USS Rivendell is 110 mark 23. The navigational sensor could still detect it when she was entering the "spacial rift".

Captain, I've never seen readings like this before and I am not sure what to make of them.

It seems almost as if portions of the Rivendell's hull are "winking" in and out of existance. It is most illogical.

As for sailing, Vulcan is an extremely dry planet, so my ancestors never developed water craft. We did, however, in ancient times, develop a vessel called a v'tpar, which had skids and a sail and was used to navigate across packed desert sand. But it was -- logically -- abandoned after more efficient means of transportation were discovered.

Screaming out loudly the counselor fell down to floor. When he raised his head again, his eyes were glowing as if they were two suns. The counselor stood up. His eyes were still glowing, but their colour changed to green-blue, when he started to talk. His voice sounded dark and loudly.

Captain, I concur with the Counselor. Starfleet regulations clearly state that we must do everything we can to protect innocent life -- even at the risk of our ship and our lives.

I believe that I can increase the power to the deflector beam and feed the telepathic aliens even more energy. In the meantime, I request that we fire only minimally to avoid harming them. Perhaps Mr. Vartin can engage in some "seat-of-the-pants" flying to keep us out of harm's way.

*Skon turns to his station and begins working on a way to increase the beam's force.*

This is Captain Göransson, we succeeded in releasing the alien lifeforms and destroying the NSC vessel. We are trying to communicate with the aliens as we speak.

OFF: during the absence of Admiral Montrell who normally manages this division, I will monitor the USS Skytoucher myself to make sure the mission keeps going. Could the Captain post more regularly again please, to make sure the mission does not stagnate? Or let us know if he is on temporarily leave. Who else is still active here? A new XO should be selected.

   Since she was already on USS Skytoucher's Bridge, Sel--an adult female Joined Beta Trill--snapped to attention immediately: "Sir, I am Cmdr. Seldana Zax, CMO of USS Skytoucher.  Welcome aboard Captain, sir".

   Even Sel's symbiont, living in Sel's internal body pouch, stopped its constant movement for a few seconds out of respect for the new Captain.  It started moving normally again after this brief pause.  Sel's stance told the new Captain that she was ready to serve StarFleet in any way she could.
