*The Loxian fleet closed in and opened fire once more. The ship shuddered under direct impact. The station was being ignored so far, but other ships begin to close in to Vontak Nor as well and prepare their attack...*

(Aboard the USS Skytoucher, Deck 2)

The Doctor heads for his quarters as fast as he can, but the tendril has followed him.  It seems to be taking different forms as it comes down the corridor: first a bear-like being with lobster claws for feet, then a huge demented rabbit with giant fangs, than a goat with the head of a barracuda.  Some forms are beyond imagination and each seems more terifying than the last.  The creature seems not to care how fast it goes because it knows the Doctor is trapped...

"If I can just make it to the escape pods...  no, I'd be more vulnerable there... there's got to be something I can do!"

*At that moment, the Loxian ship fires again, putting the Skytoucher dead in the water. But soon, the Evolution comes to aid and drives the Loxian fleet back, putting themselves between the fleet and the Skytoucher, to work as the shields that the Skytoucher itself no longer has. The Evolution tries to contact the Skytoucher, but all comms are down, and the Skytoucher receives no hail...*

Mr. Black, what is the status of the engines? Can we at least restore impulse power.
