USS Skytoucher Mission 5: the Dark Passage Treaty

*Meanwhile aboard the Loxian flagship...*
"Sir! Sir! They got help apparently! Some Romulans came out of nowhere! And it seems they're all targetting us, the flagship!"
*The fleet commander smiled.*
"Let them try. When they are concentrating on us, our other ships have free access to do as they will. Listen, you move squadron 1 to these and these positions. The second squadron should come in from here. And if they should fail, the third squadron can appear from their hiding places in the asteroid field, of which these Starfleet, Cardassians and Romulans don't know about. We have to make sure we keep them surrounded, and concentrate our firepower to disable the ships' engines so they can't flee, and the station's weaponry system. Got that?"
"Yes, sir! Right away, sir!"
*And the Loxian fleet moves into a new battle position, opening heavy firepower on Vontak Nor. Vontak Nor endures some explosions... Other ships then open fire on the Skytoucher, shaking the ship around and soon the ship's warp engines begin to destabilize... And then the Loxians fire all their might on the Romulans and give them a serious beating...*

*Zentox grabbed her arm again, but she tried to get loose from him.*
"I will NOT leave you behind here, Zayan. We will depart now, and we will have a service for the fallen later, and then we will rebuild everything again! We've done it before, we can do it again! And this time we have the support of the Cardassians, and we may live on their station! Come with me, Zayan!"
*The ground kept shaking now, and a large piece of stone fell down right next to Zentox and Zayan. It was clear that the time for leaving was now or never. Zentox tried to pull her with him once more, but she kept trying to fight him off. Zentox took a deep breath.*
"All right then. Zayan, I respect you much, but you must forgive me this..."
*And then, his fist meets her face, and he slams her until she loses consciousness. Then he grabs her and carries her in his arms, and starts running back toward the shuttle.*
"She will retaliate for doing this," he muttered to himself, "but at least she'll be alive to do it!"
*He had to run as fast as he could, while keeping an eye on the ground that was tearing apart, and on the ceiling that was about to come down. At last, he reached the shuttle again, where Vakin and Marcet were waiting to grab the unconscious body of Zayan, and help Zentox on board. Immediately thereafter, the shuttle entrance closed again.*
"Get us away from here! Now!" cried Zentox.
*Vakin sat at the control panel, and pushed some buttons. Seconds later, the shuttle lifted from the ground, just before the floor seemed to tear apart under them, and then it moves away while the walls and ceiling seemed to fall apart altogether. And soon thereafter, the Loxian shuttle joined the other shuttles that were on their way to the U.S.S. Skytoucher, to land in the Skytoucher's shuttlebay soon thereafter.*

Skon's normally impassive face almost turns into an ironic smile.

Very well, Mr. Vakin, you may participate. I believe we will be able to mask your signature.

All other away team members, report immediately. We are preparing to beam out.

"I hurry over to the nearest engineering station and realize it is badly disabled.   As before on the bridge, hoping I dont' shock myself again, I open up the panel and start making repairs with my tricorder and laser tool.
 As I am making my way through the circuitry I fix the disabled station.  I wipe the debris off the top of the station and start pressing buttons.  I run a diagnostics on the Main computer to make sure I didnt' miss anything when I did it on the bridge."  

*** I hear a crashing sound and look around to see a crewmember coming running through engineering carrying a phaser.  Chief Engineer starts screaming something.     I then think about it, no one is suppose to be down here with a weapon.  I pick up a piece of metal and throw it at the fleeing person, as he attempts to shoot one of my crew mates that gets in his way.  Unfortunately I have never been the best at hitting a target while throwing and I miss.

I duck, and yell everyone to "DUCK".

"Those Loxians are going to pursuit us until they get what they want, commander. If we surrender the Loxian exiles to them, at least your ship may survive. Better only half the people dead, than all of them dead, no? I am willing to surrender myself to them in order to save your ships and station."

Captain, we have almost finished evacuating the survivors. The shuttles are preparing to take off. This asteroid is unstable, but my readings indicate that it should hold together long enough for us to get everyone off.

Once they are filled, the shuttles begin to take off.

Grettings, General, and thank you for your continued assistance. We need help with the Loxian flagship and its escorts. Our shields are down to almost minimal, and we need some "breathing room" so we can affect emergency repairs. At the same time, we don't want to leave Vontak Nor vulnerable. If you could attract the attention of the Loxians for a time, we could "patch things together" and  launch a counter attack.

Also, I should warn you, the Doctor seems to believe that this battle is attracting the attention of something else in the area. There may be another alien species coming. Be alert.

*After his briefing with Admiral Montrell, Skon returns to the ship. He goes to the bridge for a moment before joining the Doctor in sickbay.*

Admiral Montrell has informed me that the Loxian spy, Vakin, is to be put on trial. Unfortunately, Vakin has also lodged charges against me for violating the Prime Directive. These matters will be sorted out in the JAG department on station Avalon. Any crewmembers who wish to testify during the trial are invited to do so. In the meantime, all crewmembers are invited to attend the reception in Celtic Corner this evening.
