Marcet turns to one of the consoles at his right and after several seconds a graphic layout of the station appeared.

"We will beam down here, at that moment no system will be alerted." He points to one section at the bottom side of the station.

"As I said earlier, no system will be alerted but if we move to another section they will. Therefor we must deactivate them, one at a time. Also the away-team can't be larger then 8 people, it would take us precious time if we have more then 8 persons once aboard the station you will all see why. Other important factors could be explained in a mission briefing in the transporterroom or conferenceroom, but I would like to speak to the whole team."

"There aren't many species residing in this area, captain Burma. We Loxians, and the Cardassians, were the main ones. Once in awhile there are ships of Torrans passing by, but not so often in this area since they reside mainly at the far end of the Dark Passage somewhere. They have never really cared to bother us, either."

Well, I certainly hope that isn't the case. I'd hate to have a letter sent home to my family saying that I was eaten by vampires.

Lieutenant, run a full sensor sweep of the area. scan for even the smallest trace of anything harmful that could have occurred to the Loxians.

Mr. Marotek, you and your team try to find a way to increase sensors. If there are any more ships out there I want to know about them before they know about us.

*Zentox suddenly looks up from the computer panel he was working at with Rugal. Certainly the captain's remark had drawn his attention.*
"A gateway..? No... not to my knowledge."
*He nodds at Rugal to continue, and then walks up to the captain and speaks in a lower voice, as if he does not want everyone else to hear it.*
"What the ship encountered on her way to Avalon Station, was not a gateway... I don't know what it is either, but it has appeared before, sporadically... I remember it from when I was very young and only recently got exiled from my homeworld. It never occured again, and it was never spoken of again... People thought that it was only a trick of their imagination, and this event became rather a legend than a historical fact. But they forget that this... phenomena... destroyed one of our mine facilities, and killed more than a 100 people in the blink of an eye. I don't know what it is, captain, and frankly I hope we will never have to meet it again. It is 45 years ago now, but I still recall the horror of it as if it happened yesterday..."

Mr. Russo, if you are unharmed, please follow Mr. Lupin to engineering. Mr. Black seems to have repairs well underway, but he will probably still need some help.

OFF: Hey, I'm really not trying to undercut anyone's posts, but we can't have full power right now. We can make partial repairs, restore a few systems, but the ship is too heavily damaged...

Skon's knuckles turn white as he grips the edges of his seat to keep from falling out. The Skytoucher shakes, again, and the ship begins to list to one side. Damage reports begin to come in. Fires on decks 14 and 15. Damage to the port nacelle. Power outages on decks throughout the ship. Nearly no part of the ship is completely undamaged... But as bad as things are, Skon has a feeling that they're about to get much worse...

Continue firing, Mr. Nofftz.

Mr. Rasmain, now would be a good time to get us farther away from here. Since we no longer have port shields, I suggest a course that keeps our port side as safe as possible.

Mr. Lupin, divert all non-essential power to the shields.
