U.S.S. Evolution Mission 6: Exploring Delta Alliance space

[Taurik]

The Sickbay doors slide open and Taurik walks in, calm as ever.

"Welcome to Sickbay. I am certain Doctors Keilah or Hannah can introduce you to the equipment here."

[Taurik]

=/\= This is the U.S.S. Evolution, requesting permission to dock with Avalon Station. =/\=

[Kelli Lauren]

Kelli steps out of the turbolift onto the bridge, and tries to find the Captain there, but he is not there. All she sees is Lt. Connor.

"Well, I expected to find the Captain here, but I guess he's busy. Anyway, I'm Kelli Lauren, the new Chief of security."

[Nicholas]

I'd be happy to assist Lieutenant Commander,  might I also clear up that it's Hayes, not Yates.

[keilah]

The doctor looks at the newly arrived lieutenant and tries to calm down a bit.

"Sorry Lieutenant, but I have been stressing this whole day. Those two, are constantly doing something wrong! But that wasn't the reason why you were here was it.."

Dr Keilah tries to remember why Lt Hayes needed to report in and he suddenly knew

"Ah yes, Welcome aboard Lieutenant. Since you are new, and I did not receive any update on your medicalstats, I would like to run a diagnostic on you myself. Please take a seat on that biobed. *Keilah points at the bed in the far corner of sickbay*

[Randall Sanchez]

"Ah, yes, indeed Mr. Vurak. Please, do sit down."
*Sanchez sits down at his desk, and Vurak opposite him.*
"Mr. Vurak, you have been on board this ship now for a few months. If I recall well, you came aboard shortly before we performed that rescue operation for the U.S.S. Lancelot and U.S.S. Sphinx when they were attacked by the Borg. In all this time, you had to do two jobs: the one of any engineer, and the one of a chief engineer. Firsts of all, I would like to apologize for the absence of a chief engineer, due to the fact that Mr. Lagos was temporarily reassigned to the Alpha Quadrant. It would only be for a very short while, Starfleet promised me back then... but you know how these things go, and now he still hasn't returned unfortunately. That makes that I can't wait any longer to appoint a new Chief Engineer for my ship. I did not have to hesitate long, to decide that the best choice would be you, Mr. Vurak. So I hereby promote you to Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Evolution."
*Sanchez smiles, waits a moment and then continues.*
"And together with that, I promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. You have done a very good job since the very first day you arrived on my ship, and frankly speaking, I don't know what I would do without you at my warp core. You've earned it, lt. cmdr. Vurak, congratulations"
*He gives Vurak a handshake, who returns the gesture in the typical Vulcan ackward way, and then Sanchez looks Vurak closer in the eyes.*
"But you look tired. I can see it in your eyes. I know that Vulcans can stay awake for a much longer time than humans, but I've rarely seen this tiredness in the eyes of any Vulcan before. How long has it been since you slept, Mr. Vurak?"

[Randall Sanchez]

*Sanchez smiles again.*
"Very good. Dismissed, and I expect you to go to your quarters immediately now and take a good rest."

[Taurik]

"Hmm... Mr. Vurak, can you do the same with our auxillary warp core, but recalibrate it to emit inverse warp energy?"

[Nelson]

OFF: Vurak....i misspelled it

[Will Nesmith]

"Aye Doc. on my way"

[Taurik]

"Welcome back, Commander."

[Randall Sanchez]

"Truly fascinating! And to say that our top Starfleet engineers haven't come up with this idea yet! All stations, keep your eyes on the sensors and record everything you can."
*Then he turns to Brooks.*
"Commander, could you make a damage report of the ship? So that when we arrive, we know where to begin repairs."

[Randall Sanchez]

"Return to Avalon Station? From what I understood from Admiral Vorak, we won't be going back to the station any time soon. He made it clear that we were stationed in D.A. space permanently until further notice. And I think there's quite enough around here to explore to be sure!"

[Randall Sanchez]

*Sanchez shifts uneasily in his seat, worried about his science officer, but doesn't say it out loud.*
"Helm, have we arrived at the Traquel station yet?"
