USS Rivendell - Mission 2: Joint mission with USS Skytoucher

[Hedford]

Computer: Authorization codes accepted. Auto Self destruct sequence initiated. Delay: 5 minutes.  Counting down from 5 minutes now. Voice warning every minute.

"Ok everyone, head for the escape pods! We've only got 5 minutes to evacuate the ship.

The self destruct sequence has been initiated. This ship will be destroyed in 5 minutes. I repeat, this ship will be destroyed in 5 MINUTES! Evacuate the ship at once, all escape pods are available. I repeat, evacuate at once! Do not waste time on gathering your personal belongings, but save yourselves first!

*Hedford checks a console and sees that the program is ready to deactivate the forcefields around the Metatraxi. Only one push and the Metatraxi will be all over the ship in seconds*

"Mr. Burma, you have done a good job. If I make it out of here alive, I will give Starfleet a good report of you.  Now, clear the bridge and head for the escape pods. Dont wait for anyone. I must remain last, to make sure everyone is safely off the ship.  Only then, I can deactivate the forcefields and release the Metatraxi. Don't wait for me, chances are small I will make it out alive. But you know what the Vulcans say... the needs of the many, outweighs the needs of the few, or the one. Go now, Mr. Burma, there is no time to waste!"

(OFF:  I have started the mission off in Skytoucher and just waiting the crew to report in and we can get started Julian.  Vorak said for me not to wait for my CO since he is away for a while)

"Allright Sir understood"

*He stood up*

"Allright people, I want every station to do a diagnostic on their system and then file a report to give to me.
We are on a normal Mission so we can take a look at our systems and maybe we find some minor problems that can be repaired at once. Is everything clear?"

Helm is working perfectly now sir, however i am unable to get a fix of where we are using our charts, it is most bizarre.

Computer: Warning. 30 seconds before auto-self destruct.

Hedford finally arrives at the last escape pod.  The ship was trembling.  He wondered what was happening to the enemy entity. Had it withdrawn from the ship? Had it spread inside the ship? He walked into the escape pod and pushed some buttons.

Computer: Warning. 20 seconds before auto-self destruct.

The door closed and he pushed another button, that released the escape pod and thrust it away from the ship at once.  Hedford heard a last announcement from the computer, and he knew it was the last one that he would ever hear from the computer of THIS ship.

Computer: Warning. 10 seconds before auto-self destruct.

The pod thrust away, and he looked through the window.  He could see several escape pods everywhere, and then he looked at the ship... and he was counting down the last seconds after the last warning he had heard from the ship... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
And the ship exploded violently.  A huge, massive and colourful explosion could be seen in space,  a vast shockwave of energy spreading from the explosion... his escape pod trembled and he had to hold on to his seat firmly not to be thrown around in the little space the pod provided.

After a little while, all he could see was what remained left of the explosion: residue, pieces flying in every direction.  And finally his pod comes to hang still in the air again.

He pushes a button.

"Hedford to all escape pods, is everyone all right?"

Helm, head towards the USS Skytouchers Position. when it leaves, follow 200 km's max behind them.
