U.S.S. Evolution Mission 13: The Battle of Avalon

[Vorak]

*Vorak overlooks everyone entering the room, and waits until all have arrived and are seated. Then he begins talking.*

"Thank you all for gathering. This is a most important announcement, I am about to make."

*He looks at everyone in the room.*

"Due to his magnificent behaviour as Starfleet officer in a large variety of most unusual situations, I would hereby announce that captain Randall Sanchez is selected for promotion to admiral.

*He looks at Sanchez, who looks up surprised.*

"We are yet to receive confirmation from Starfleet Command, but I can already announce that it is as good as certain. Congratulations, Mr. Sanchez. Formalities will follow later."

*Then he looks at the rest of the people again.*

"Unfortunately, Mr. Sanchez will not be replaced as captain of the Evolution. The ship is by now a rather outdated model, no longer fit for the dangers of deep space travel in the Delta Quadrant, as they have appeared over the last few years. Therefore, due to the fact that the Evolution has sustained heavy damage in the last attack of the Heraan, the ship will not undergo any repairs any more, but be permanently decommissioned and disassembled afterwards. This was the ship's final voyage."

[Vorak]

*Vorak approaches Sanchez.*
"Captain, it appears that this ship is in a bad condition at this time. With the threat of the Heraan nearby, I suggest to make our swift return to Avalon Station a priority, and keep all other repairs that are less essential to the crew's safety on hold for now. And I would also like a full report of all damage to the ship."

[Jon Omicros]

Jon stifled a laugh. He was not used to AIs. Sure he knew about them, but the fact that Durandal was capable of having his feelings hurt amused him.

[Vorak]

*Vorak arrives at the bridge just when Spock's last message comes in. Before Sanchez can respond, Vorak does.*
"Vorak to Engineering. Understood, we will be on our way immediately. Vorak out."
*Then, again not waiting for Sanchez, he turns to the bridge officers.*
"Set course for Avalon Station, warp 4. Engage."

[Jon Omicros]

Jon placed his hand on the Gallifreyan's arm. As he did he concetrated on focusing his power into the Gallifreyan. All he could do was wait to be drained, wait for this ordeal, this right of passage -if you will- to be over. Only then could he be confident that he would serve this ship well. It was his first Starfleet Battle. Sure he had battle experiance, but that was as a mercenery. He was still uncertain of his abilities to serve under such a strict command.

[keilah]

*As the medical staff had given care to many of the Evolution's officers. It was time for Dr Keilah to attend the meeting, ordered by Admiral Vorak. Keilah instructed the nurses, how to help the last wounded and then he left. He entered a turbolift and headed to the bridge. He then arrived in the meeting room and took a seat*

"Good day admiral, I'm sorry for my late arrival but sickbay is a busy place after such a mission."

*Keilah sits down and nods towards the captain*

[Nonir]

*Roberts sits at his station on the Evolution and reads over incoming reports of the crews that have been working on the decomissioning. He thinks to himself..."Its a pity to be decommissioning such a noble ship, hmm looks like they are having some trouble disasembling the ventral phaser array."*

[Vorak]

OFF: Hello? Where did everyone go?

[ftima]

*Ftima is more suprised then happy when she hears the captain has no intention of punishing her.*

"If everything turned to be as we planned, she and Airis are on Vontak Nor where she recieves the treatment she and the unborn need"

[Jon Omicros]

Jon fell as the ship heaved, getting back up, he spoke, "What are we supposed to do about that?! Damage control teams to three through nine!"

"Commander, speaking strictly from my experience, I don't know that we can win this one."

[Randall Sanchez]

"A fleet of ships... to destroy Avalon Station..."
*Sanchez discreetly turns to admiral Vorak.*
"Admiral, the Na'jigat appears to have received reinforcements of a fleet intent on destroying Avalon Station. The station now needs all the help it can gets, and it's not too late yet for the Evolution to turn back."

[Durandal]

"Captain, considering we have one of the most important Starfleet admirals on board, might I suggest retreat? Avalon Station can fight off this attacker."

As if in answer to the AI's comment, a plasma torpedo from the Heraani cruiser slammed into the port warp nacelle, shattering the grille and disabling the intercoolers.

[Vorak]

*Vorak looks carefully at the movements of Legudon. Meanwhile, the ship shakes back and forth while it is being fired upon.*
Computer: "Warning. Plasma leak in section 4 of engineering. Seal off section 4 to prevent destabilisation."
*Vorak raises an eyebrow.*
"It appears we do not have much time to stop them from attacking us. I hope your plan works, Mr. Legudon."

[Randall Sanchez]

"Durandal, if you are referring to what Legudon just did, if he hadn't done this, there wouldn't have been a second time anyway."
*He turns to Legudon.*
"Once again, we owe you our lives. Thank you, and I hope that one day we can return the favour if needed."

[Spock]

OOC**I am not liking this story line with Durendal, and hes ticking me off, so im not going to post with spock until a later date in the mission, Nothing personal, but Im not in the mood to deal with a in a nice term, Darn, computer, which I could think of so many nasty names for.
