Mission 9: The Evolution's Flight

[Morgan Freeman]

"Baphomet, please escort this woman to her quarters for now.  Then man your station Commander."

Take Captains Sanchez and Taurik to a holding cell

Helm lay in a course back for Avalon station, maximum warp.  

=A= Rivendell to Avenger =A=
We need cover fire to escape.

The Rivendell and the Avenger glide out of orbit of the planet and punch through the blockade.  As soon as they are through, the Rivendell jumps to warp.

[Dyien]

Dyien felt strange for a moment then got a telepathic message from Outpost Sigma 953. He knew what it meant instantly.

"I am sorry but I have to go. Something has happen that will affect Galactic Proportions."

With that, Dyien disappears into an orange transporter haze and reappears onto the Avenger which was leaving the atmosphere for a Hyperspace Jump. Around the Avenger, bluish'green light mix with red appears before the Avenger disappears 30 seconds later into Hyperspace heading back to Sigma 953.

[Will Matthews]

"Commander, retrieval of the crew in the escape pods is complete. The injured will be standing by in sickbay for the doctor, the fit are taking positions to assist on board".

[Taurik]

"I see. I was under the impression the Kelata was a customized Starfleet shuttle. Perhaps I need to meditate more often."

[Baphomet]

"Actually Captain I was working for the V'Shar at the time and was installed at the orders of the High Command, sir."

[Baphomet]

Once the communication had been cut, Baphomet walked over to the Captain.

"Sir if I may, beaming over to the Evolution would not be wise, there is a reason behind why your friend stole the Evolution and that reason made him desperate enough to steal a Starship.
A secure channel, ship to ship would be the more logical approach."
Baphomet continued...

"At the very least we should disable the Evolution and bring them out of Warp, before any other action; would be advised."

Baphomet waited for a reply......

OOC: Okay so now I am confused, when you decide what you want to do, give me a call.

[Event Horizon]

The U.S.S. Evolution, starship of the Federation and home to more than eighty Starfleet officers, took it's last proverbial breath.

The auto-destruct sequence was initiated, and the charges housed along the impulse reactors ignited. It was slow at first, the fire spewing lazily from the impulse engines, working its way along the saucer and dorsal spine, and reaching the warp core.

The antimatter containment pods were breached, and antimatter particles were released into Engineering, where they promptly reacted with the matter that composed the room. The Evolution twisted and lurched very violently, before splittng in two and vaporizing itself in an expanding plasma fireball.

As the plasma and fusion reached the remnants of the star Loxius Alpha, an amazing thing occurred. The core elements of the star, hydrogen and helium, began to actually fuse once more. The star, a dull grey for many years, began to glow again. It began as a deep red, slowly working it's way up the spectrum until the entire sphere shone a brilliant, bright yellow. The heat began to strike the planet Loxius Prime once more.

The star Loxius Alpha was alive again. But at a cost.

The U.S.S. Evolution, and with it, Commander Bryan Hannah, were no more.

[Morgan Freeman]

"Your right commander, my place is on the bridge.  Before you go, transfer 30 torpedo's to the Evolutions torpedo racks and good luck"

After a few moments Baphomet transfers the torpedo's to the Evolutions racks and leaves the bridge heading for her shuttle.

We are beaming 30 torpedos into your racks; it should give you a better fighting chance.  We are ready at your command Captain.  Good luck and Gods speed.

Commander Freeman turns to Eagleonia and flip.  "I am afraid that you both are going to have to grow up faster then I would like.  When we engage MVA mode the two of you will take command of section 2 for the battle. Understood?

Doctor, prepare your staff to handle medical emergencies in all three sections.  I am going to need you to command section 3 when we enter MVA mode.

[Taurik]

"Captain, keep in mind that I may also be held on charges of treason as well. It is not unlikely that I will be in a cell beside you. But, should I be exonerated, I will make an effort to visit you on occasion."

[Spock]

"Rivendell, lock onto my life signs and stand bye for transport.  Wait till the last possible second then transport."

[Morgan Freeman]

Commander Freeman goes to the engineering station on the bridge and logs in.  

"Captain, all systems ready at your command."

[Zaphan]

Zaphan looked around the room while everyone else was being treated, she was fine and therefore determined that she could quench the feeling of curiosity.
Zaphan snuck out of sickbay while no one was looking and took off for a personal tour of the ship.
She had passed many crewman who Zaphan politely waved to and peeked in all the doors that would open for her.
Thinking how wonderful it would be to own such a nice vessel liek this one, complimenting the designers and making some minor alterations in her head along the way.
The Drak'kai, depite being a freighter, didn't skimp on comfort, even the Cargo bays, had the latest in Loxian anti-grav and tractor beam technology, due to her manipulative abilities as a merchant.
Not all Loxian merchants were as successful as Zaphan's late uncle and herself had been, infact there is a particular secret base in an asteroid of the Dark Passage, that a pirate would be jealous of.
Zaphan neared a turbolift and debated with herself whether or not too enter, the indicision didn't take very long as a short moment later had entered.

After the turbolift door had closed, Zaphan wondered where on such a ship she could go and have some fun.

"Computer, where do the crew go to relax and have fun"

COMPUTER: PLEASE SPECIFY NATURE OF REQUEST.

"Where do the crew go when off duty to unwind, ya daff......"

COMPUTER: THE USS RIVENDELL HAS SEVERAL SOCIALISING AREAS FOR RELAXATION, NOTABLY THE HOLODECKS AND TEN FORWARD, WHICH IS AN EATING AND DRINKING ESTABLISHMENT ONBOARD AND A HUB FOR RELAXATIONAL ACTIVITIES.

"Ah...why couldn't you just say that then, Ten Forward please."

When the turbolift had reached the location of Deck Ten, forward most section, Zaphan walked out of the turbolift and headed for the Ten Forward doors, once she had entered she went streight to the bar and ordered, after some debate, what Zaphan thought would be the best drink.

Zaphan took a sip and wandered over to the nearest bunch of people playing a card game she found out was called poker.
The players let her join in and taught her the rules and how to play and then probably wished they hadn't, because Zaphan found something else that she was a natural at.

[Orpheus]

(OFF: This AI is played by Taurik, and I find it hard to believe two Starfleet ships could disable an entire Loxian armada.)

"Ahh, good thinking Commander. However, we would be in danger of recieving enemy fire through the shield gap. I will attempt to initiate a point-defense system to eliminate any incoming torpedoes."

Shortly after Commander Freeman arrived I followed him to visit the Captain.

Ah Captain Sanchez I am glad to see that you are alive sir.

Commander Freeman, I man Lt Commander Harf First officer of Uss Evolution I would like to be of any assistance possible sir.
