Rivendell Mission 4: Defend Space Station Avalon

(OFF: lol! Hey, it's not every day I get to play a human in command of a ship. Being Vulcan gets really boring sometimes... Anyway, as for the destruction, it didn't seem fair that the Loxians lose a fleet, while we don't lose a single ship. So I did the next best thing...)

The Saucer Section somes to a slow and gradual stop and a slight rocking is felt as the ship latches onto the station's dockng port and the ramp is extended to a starboard airlock. Taurik, feeling the jolt, rises from his ready room chair and heads for Admiral Montrell's office. On his way through, he addresses Mr. Freeman.

"Commander, if you wish, rather than commanding the bridge while in dock, which I assume would not quell the human desire for constant activity, you may join the repair crews. If you wish, of course."

He then turns and leaves the bridge.

OFF:  Should we "start over" then Vorak?  I believe that blame would fall to me sir, as I was the one who commented on seeing the Loxian fleet.  Which sort of got the ball rolling, I was ready to get started...too much freetime I guess.    I also apologize if I have over stepped my bounds by responding...

Off:  The ship is back together at least the 2 peices right?

Arriving back in engineering well rested Cmd Freeman begins running diagnostics of the warp containment system in the Rivendell.
He also reviews the repair and diagnostic reports from beta shift.  

"Ensign Caplin, there appears to be a malfunction in the environmental control system in sickbay.   please go check the system. "

Caplin says yes sir and then is off to check the system.

[Taurik]

--Captain Taurik, Saucer Section--

Taurik sees the Loxian flagship begin firing on its own escorts.

"Concentrate fire on the smaller Loxian vessels."

--Lieutenant Mitch Walker, Escape Pod--

Emery: "Sir, look!"

Mitch looks out the porthole to see the flagship turn around and beign firing on the nearest Loxian ships.

"That's incredible! Someone must have--"

=/\= This is the U.S.S. Danath. Attention, Pod 42, this is the Danath. =/\=

Mitch is cut off by the communication, but taps his badge and responds.

=/\= It's great to see you, Danath. We've got 7 to beam out. =/\=

Mitch and his companions dematerialize and reappear on the runabout.

[Taurik]

(OFF: Not really. This has been going on for a while, over the span of a few missions. The "new mission" should be whatever mundane task the Admiralty assigns the crew to.)

[Taurik]

(OFF: You can request a transfer in the DCO [Division Commander's Office].)

"I will be in the Observation Deck of the Shipyard. I also suggest you all take the time to enjoy the facilities on the starbase."

[KHa Var]

*On the Kahless, Kha'Var begins to pace.*

"Send in some small fighters after those 8 damaged ships."

"Right away!"

*20 fighters are launched and head for the damaged Loxian vessels.*

"So, they chose to ignore us do they?!  We are not a mere fly to be brushed aside or ignored.  Begin firing on the flagship!  We will scratch their belly with a red poker."

"All weapons are locked and targeted at the ship above us."

"Fire at will!  They will think us weaklings no longer!"

*The Kahless fires a heavy barrage against the underside of the Loxian flag ship.*

"My lady, our weapons  have weakened the shielding.  Their hull is about to be breached."

"The fighters are responding.  All 8 ships have been eliminated.  6 of our fighters are destroyed,  3 severely damaged.  They are requesting further orders."

"Tell them that they fight well, and we will honour their comrades in our memories.  There will be many songs of this battle.  Their orders are to track down any damaged Loxian vessels and disable or destroy them!"

"Transmission sent captain."

*Just then the hull of the Loxian flag ship breaches.*

"Commander!  We are under attack by 30 small Loxian vessels.  What are your orders?"

"Let's lead them on a merry chase through their own lines!  Evasive manoeuvres."

*The Kahless shutters and shakes from several different impacts.*

"Taking evasive action."

*The ship weaves between the lines of the Loxian fleet.  Trying to avoid the enemies weapon fire, the helmsman takes the Kahless closer to the other Loxian ships.  Some of the Loxian vessels are hit by friendly fire, 10 are damaged, 6 are disabled and 12 small ships are destroyed.  On the bridge of the Kahless, panels are exploding and crewmen are tossed about and some are injured or killed.*

"My lady, we are taking some heavy damage.  Hull integrity is failing on 20 decks!"

"Evacuate those decks and revert power from them to the shields and weapons!  Get these dead ones off my bridge!  Helm, take us closer to the Loxian ships!  I don't care if we start bouncing off their shields!  Just do it!"

*Helm takes the ship even closer to the Loxian vessels.  The Kahless gets too close and bounces off the shields of one of the larger ships.  The impact sends the ship careening deeper into the Loxian fleet.  The ship that the Kahless bounced off of is pushed into a group of smaller ships.  There is an explosion as the ships collided, 35 are engulfed in the explosion—no survivors.*

[Solark Baklavar]

24 to 48 hours hours later,
(Under the dash board of the shield generator, Solark makes continuous adjustments on the shields.)

A now test drive, Ouch. (Zap! A jolt of electricity). Dam. I need a drink NOW!. Diagnostics needed for the circuit breaker on this thing.

Computer: Diagnostics commenced. Diagnostic complete. Repair made. Mr. Baklavar

Dam. That computer. Orpheus likes to make me suffer does he.....Oi. I need a drink. There! Finally finished. Shields are running at a 100%. Check on the list. Let's see tactical list number 23. Let's weapons are now operations at 100%. Now to check the transporter beam on this puppy. (Zap!) Ouch. Not again...............

OFF: For the science heads among you, it may be interesting to know how the Loxian warp engine works. Their engines use koranium, which is also a subspace element used in Klingon warp drives. However, this particular element is not a regular koranium element. The Loxians apparently use soliton koranium, a rare combination but effective. Having the verbal lines open during the battle I heard the Darnath's Call. and sent this in responce.

The ship shakes hard, taking a direct torpedo hit. Sparks fly from various consoles, and a crewman at the Mission Ops console near the back of the bridge falls to the floor. Taurik then taps his commbadge.

=/\= Bridge to Engineering. We need more energy diverted to the shields and weapons. Take power from any unnecessary systems. =/\=

[KHa Var]

*The Kahless slowly makes its way to Avalon Station.  KHa'Var requested permission to dock and have repairs done to the ship.  Avalon Station granted her request along with the other ships.  Once it was their turn to enter Avalon Station KHa'Var gave the order.*

"Helm proceed to dockingport 5."

"Moving to dockingport 5 m'lady.  Initiating docking procedures.  Docking is complete m'lady."

"Captain, repair crews from the station are coming aboard to begin repairs."

"Very well, I need to see how things are going with my son."

*She turns to Mitch Walker and his crew.*

"I assume you can find your way to the Rivendell from the dockingport.  Follow me, I will show you the way off my ship."

*KHa'Var leads Mitch Walker and crew to the dockingport entrance.*

"I hope you had a pleasant trip on my ship.  Here is where I leave you, I must speak with Vorak immediately."

*She walks off to Vorak's office.*

Off: And I just got my four quantum maximum torpedos too. Dam. LOL. I would have loved this part. Well. Captain Taurik. Your call. Vorak gave us the word.
