Rivendell Mission 4: Defend Space Station Avalon

[Loxians]

*At a steady speed, the Loxian Government fleet sets course toward the location of Avalon Station, unaware of the Klingon battleship hiding in their ion wake. On board the flagship, the largest of all, many Loxian officers are busily preparing for battle, as the Loxian Prime Commander stands on the bridge, waiting...*
Officer: "Prime Commander, we are arriving at Avalon Station!"
Prime Commander: "Put it on screen!"
*The viewscreen shows Avalon Station, in orbit around a planet nearby the vast Expansion Nebula.*
Prime Commander: "So the signals from the device of our spy did not lie. This is where our people are being held, no doubt! Kowan, Vakin, Varnek... We must find them, and silence them! Enough damage has been done, and it is time to avenge it! Signal all ships to drop out of warp!"
Officer: "Yes, prime commander!"
*In an instant, a large fleet of various different ships comes to full stop in front of Avalon Station...*
Prime Commander: "So it has come to it at last! Scan their defences!"
Officer: "The station's weapon and defence systems are armed and targetted, sir! Apart from the station, I can only scan one ship, right in front of it."
Prime Commander: "One ship, and one station... that's all? This will not be a long battle! Signal to the first squadron to line up in front of the station and their pity ship!"
Officer: "Aye, sir! Sending orders now!"
*Instantly, several smaller but still powerful ships form a line in front of the flagship, facing Avalon Station and the U.S.S. Venture. On board the bridge, the Prime Commander keeps looking at the viewscreen, when his second-in-command approaches him.*
"Prime Commander, may I remind you that we emptied the entire army system of Loxius, for just this cause alone? We could have handled it with far less ships, without having to leave our homeworld vulnerable."
Prime Commander: "Vulnerable for what? The Loxian Exiles? They are scared, hiding in that Cardassian station! But when we were there last, we fought a wary battle, with an entire fleet against only two of their ships, and their Cardassian station. Still we lost! And why? I'll tell you why! I have no idea why! They must have unleashed some weapon that just 'ate' our ships alive, something of a power cloud, I have no idea what it is. No, I will not make the same mistake twice, I will not underestamate them again. These Starfleet people are tricky, but this time I am prepared for them, and I will not return to Loxius until they are utterly crushed, so that there will not be spoken of them in the Delta Quadrant again! Is that understood?"
*The second-in-command nods and steps back, as another officer announces that the first squadron is ready at the frontline.*
"Good, very good. Signal all ships to open fire at my command! Three... two... one... FIRE!"
*Instantly, the frontline ships open fire at the Venture and Avalon Station. The battle has begun...*

*Chief Engineers log stardate 58018.1*
 Repairs to the Rivendell are complete save the missing third section.   It will still be a great deal of time for all three sections to be function.  
 I have finished programming the MVA mode to accept only section 1 and 2 and the ship has been reassembled.  
  Note in the log:  Avalon's engineers have been very helpful in the repairs of the ship without them it would have taken a great deal longer to get this far.

  "You guys mind not hitting as many bumps in the road.  The  antimatter injectors are being a little touchy at the moment.  plus we have a diteriam leak in the primary injector."

* The ship is rocked again by weapons fire and over the comm Taurik hears a hears a loud explosion and hissing.  *

"Captain we have a new problem we have a colient link in the cross over condiut.   I need a medical team to engineering stat and I need a minute to lock it down.   Try to avoid as much weapon''s fire as you can until we have stabilized the regulation to the injector systems or we will loose the core.'"

Mitch taps his console, bringing up navigational scanners and information on the Expansion Nebula.  

"Cake."  He mutters to himself.  

"Sir, the nebula shouldn't be that difficult to pilot, we could stay hidden in there for several minutes if not longer.  Laying in a course for the nebula.  Waiting for your order sir."

"There is a Loxian fleet approaching to attack Avalon Station. The Rivendell and the Skytoucher are tasked to defend the station."

Off: Hm..Ferengi's can be a very troublesome lot when it involves speeding up work progress so he can rush over to get to the Celtic Bar to have his drinks. Eek. (Solark continues his work on the tactical systems sadly wincing in pain as Mr. Fernando kindly makes sure he is not in too much pain utilizing the first aid kit. Only minor burns from his last two electrical shock. He REALLY needs that drink now........................until next time....:).)

"We will engage MVA mode if the need shall arise. Mr. Baklavar, load four maximum-yield quantum torpedoes, and prepare to fire them in dispersal pattern Delta."

[Mitch Walker]

"Thank you sir!"  A huge smile spread across the young lieutenant's face.  He beamed.  Then suddenly he realized he was speaking to a Vulcan and his smile faded.  "Thank you Captain, I need to return to working on the CONN...I'll have a list of needed repair parts in a few hours."

Mitch returned to his station filled with pride over the "praise" from his Vulcan captain.

OFF: Vulcans, Fun is a response to an action that is produced by emotion. So how being so stotic and emotionless do they now about fun.

ON: With the hext rtation I was on the bridge as sometime bridge officers are also injuried in the line of duty to starfleet. Hello Captain Commander So this is what the bridge is like.

This is flag admiral Vorak speaking. The Loxian fleet is now only 12 minutes away from the station. Their fleet consists 200 ships, of which some are as large or even larger then our own starships. Their strength is more then anticipated, so we will have to use strategy to win this battle. Avalon Station has raised its shields, and no beaming in or out can take place as of this moment. U.S.S. Skytoucher, I am aware that captain Skon is still on board the station, but there is no time now. Commander Rasmain will temporarily assume command of the ship. The Skytoucher will, together with the U.S.S. Rivendell, withdraw into the Expansion Nebula as discussed at the briefing. You will form the element of surprise. The U.S.S. Venture will stand ready at the frontline before the station. When the Tiberon arrives, it can take the rear of the Loxian fleet. When the Skytoucher and Rivendell appear out of the nebula, they can take either side of the Loxian fleet, at which point we will have surrounded them. Proceed to your positions, and... good luck.

Yes Mr Walker your were affected by something while you were in the Holodeck and the Captain brought you here. He seems to have made a full recover though sir. He may return to duty when he feels like it.

[Loxians]

*On board the Loxian flagship, the Prime Commander is looking at the viewscreen, as his ship is firing immediately upon the station.*
"Soon, this will be over, and Loxius will be the primary power of this sector again!"
*Suddenly, their weapons stop firing at the station. The Prime Commander turns around to look at his tactical officer.*
"Why did you cease fire! We've got a perfect opening now! Fire weapons, NOW!"
Tactical officer: "Sir, I'm being locked out of my panel. I can't access any system any more!"
"WHAT?"
Computer: "Auto-destruct sequence has been initiated. Countdown 5 minutes."
"WHAT?!?"
*The Prime Commander slams his fist on the chair arm.*
"Someone is tampering with our system! Get control back of the ship, NOW!"
*Suddenly, the Loxian flagship comes about to face its own smaller Loxian fighter ships, and opens fire... Instantly, 6 smaller fighters are destroyed. Next, a salvo of torpedoes is launched, destroying 4 more Loxian ships. No firepower is directed anywhere near the Starfleet vessels.*
Tactical officer: "Sir, we're destroying 10 of our own ships, and there's no way I can get access to any system at all... engines, weapons, shields... Not even the auto-destruct sequence!"
*The Prime Commander furiously gets up from his chair, pushes the tactical officer aside, and attempts to take control over the panel himself. But he too, is being locked out no matter what. At that moment, the flagship fires another salvo of torpedoes as well as disrupter fire, destroying 12 more ships.*
Computer: "Four minutes to auto-destruct."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

OFF: In-character you don't know what is going on, but basically what happened is that the Skytoucher took control back over its own ship, as well as over the flagship.

"Aye sir.  Holding position."
