Rivendell Mission 4: Defend Space Station Avalon

[Mitch Walker]

"Sweet mother!"  

A huge Loxian fleet looms on the viewscreen.

"Should I start with a standard attack pattern, Captain?

"On the contrary, Mr. Walker, you performed admirably for your first command. You did what was necessary to protect the crew."

Gotcha Captain. Shields are at 100%. Weapons engaged and ready to fire. Wow. What a fleet. Target practice will be fun. Captain and Commanders. Do we dis-engage and fight as three to improve our odds against them in our fight. Loxian ships coming in ten minutes. Captain. Photon torpedos and phaser are locked when ready. At your command. Lock and load. Everyone.

Mitch sees Taurik enter the bridge.  He rises from behind his console.

"Sir...I would like to apologize for the destruction of the secondary stardrive section.  I don't know what happened captain, one minute everything was fine, the next it was gone..."  The young lieuteant's voice trails off...he doesn't know what to say to his captian.

[Ferando ONeil]

The Doctor Calls the Captain to give his report on the medical centre, Captain The Sickbay is in full running order I have replaced the stock that was used during the war and now ready for the next mission sir I have laid the Staff to down time rosters sir, which mean we are skeleton  staff on roster while the others stay rested sir.

Initiating Docking Procedures, Captain. I think we ALL need a good drink at the Celtic Corner. What say yee. Captain.

Taurik straightens his uniform.

"Time until the fleet arrives?"

I believe Miss Belanna has sent out the message for shuttlebay to send out the Arwen and the Dannath and firing out at the engines of the flagship. Quite nice handiwork. My dear. You read the Captain's mind and my own. (He chuckles in the background then seriously reminds himself that they are in battle)

(As Miss Belanna shoots her target. DIRECT HIT! on the engines of the Loxian ship. A very nasty weak point at that. Shaking the Loxian flagship slightly curving it at an angle!!)

Ah snikes. I do need to fire at will do I. Long range sensors indicate the shields are losing their potency and the hull and engines are taking a hit on the Loxian flagship. They seem to be slowing down dramatically for their velocity is dropping and slowing to a floating in space. I believe their shields are dropping to below 50%. Captain. We are penetrating Captain!!

(Solark sets coordinates for another shot and fires at will. The Rivendell Saucer takes another hit coming from non other than the Skytoucher phaser fire.)

Blast......Shields are down to 50%. Captain. Sensors are still functioning. We are taking damage in the hull area the underside of our ship. Ouch. We can still maintain control though. Maneuverability may be slightly hindered with flight control navigations.)

[Montrell]

"I've received your report on the Rivendell. It has sustained severe damage but ofcourse our engineers will do everything to repair it. You have all means to your disposal to repair the Rivendell's third section but you may want to contact Admiral Detrell."

[Morgan Freeman]

Freeman sticks his head out from underneith the engineering station looking rather dissheppled.

"Well cap, to be honest with you just from all that I have been over so far its going to take about 8 weeks just to get these 2 sections repaired and to get the computer to reconnect with only 2 sections.  I bypassed it for now but we can't go into MVA mode again.  
 But, I know you want it before 8 weeks so we will get it done in 6.    If the station will give us 2 full repair crews."

Freeman hands Captain Taurik a padd with a very lenghtly   list of repairs on it.  Then hands him another padd.

"here are the needed repairs and a list of supplies that we need from the station."  

[KHa Var]

~^~KHa'Var to Danath.  We are activating emergency transport now!~^~

*The crew of the Danath is beamed aboard the Kahless moments before it blows up.  The Danath crew find themselves on the bridge of a Klingon ship.*

"Welcome to the Kahless.  I am KHa'Var captain of this fine ship.  I regret that we could not reach you sooner, and save the Danath."

*The bridge of the Kahless is as much a mess as the debries floating about the battle field.*

"However I must say my ship has seen calmer days.  We are heading to Avalon Station, for repairs and it seems that there is a bit of a line-up.  But no worries, we shall get you safely back to your assigned ship."

**INSIDE MITCH'S MIND**
Mitch was fighting in his mind.  Struggling to stay concious, but it wasn't working.  He thought he had seen the captain.  He tried to call to him, but his mouth wouldn't move.  Suddenly sound exploded from his mouth.

"CAPTIAN!"  Mitch screamed and then started thrashing violently.

[William Travis]

Travis walks onto the bridge.

"My apoligies Captain i realize i was absent longer than i specified but something came up. I hope i wasn't replaced"

[Taurik]

--Captain Taurik, Saucer Section--

"No, we must distract the Loxian flagship. Send word to the shuttlebay to dispatch the Arwen and the Danath. Send them out to begin retrieving the crew."

The ship shakes from a hit from a plasma cannon.

"Helm, input attack pattern Echo 6. Tactical, target engines and fire at will."

--Lieutenant Mitch Walker, Escape Pod--

Mitch shifted around on the acceleration couch within the somewhat cramped pod interior. The pods were meant to seat five, but there were seven on this pod. He maneuvered the attitude control stick slightly, and thumbed the thruster trigger. The porthole revealed the battle, calming down relatively, but still blazing. Their pod was uncomfortably close to the battle. The verbal silence in the cabin was broken by a young science officer.

Officer: "Lieutenant, are we ever going to make it back to the Rivendell? There's a good chance we'll get hit by stray weapons fire, or be accidentally rammed by a careless Loxian pilot."

"Look, Ensign. The last thing we need to be doing is worrying about our own sorry skins. There are hundreds of thousands of people on that station, many of whom are civilians. This makes no difference to the Loxians. They would kill officers, merchants, even mothers and their children without hesitation or remorse. The odds were against us when we went into this battle, and they're against us now. Chances are, yes, we will die out here. But I would be proud to have died fighting the Loxians."

*The ares just bairley beats the Flagship to the station, then it does an about face, facing head on with the flagship, the ares aims its weapons towards the flagship and begins to barrad (not sure if correct term) the flagship forcing it to find a different path to avalon...the flag ship still continues to bombard the ares,but the ship holds...*
