Eugene Archer

=^=Archer to Admiral Julian. This is the status of the mission: Biggins, Mann, Kassie and I are working down here in engineering. We have discovered a way to propel the ship at warp speed. We are currently recalibrating the shields, and crewman Biggins is working on the structural integrity field. If work isn't delayed in any way, we should have the station ready for transport within 48 hours. I'm still waiting for crewman Biggins' answer to my question about how long it's gonna take to move the station at warp 4, which will be the maximum speed at which the station won't collapse. THe only other thing left to do after that, is checking if all the assisting vessels' tractor beams are modified sufficiently to ensure structural integrity of the station during transport. I will report back to you in 12 hours. Archer out.=^=

*Archer ran into ops, after having beamed on to the station just outside the ops-door*

"Admiral, I heard something about Mann being injured. I will visit him shortly to ask him what happened in that corridor. After that I will go to engineering to help out and also ask Kassie some questions. I've ordered the other vessels to adjust their shielding systems in order to encompass the station. In that way, the station will have like a double shield and it acts like a buffer. It should give us longer periods at warp speeds, and we would need less time at impulse to repair the station's shields.

In the mean time I would recommend to look out for any hostile vessels in the vicinity."

Julian

*suprised that the ensign had thought of things he himself could not think of*

wow ensign. yes now that i think of it i do remember somethin about DS9 being moved like that. Perhaps we could also use the tractors to help move aswell.

*taps on a pad he had lying on the desk in front of him*

Actually it looks like *suddenly a holographic diagram of estimations on how long it would take to move the station*  if we do that, plus use the tractor beams it would take merely a week to move the station.

I wouldn't risk the new drive on the station because as you said, it is still in experimental stages, and i cant risk something like that on the station. However great work one the shileding idea.

Ok heres whats goin to happen.

Mr Archer i need you to contact the ships we have available and arrange for them to meet at the station in 2 days from now for a briefing with their CO's.

Mr Lurado I need you to Contact Dantor and inform them that a briefing will be taking place 2 days from now and a video appearance of the highest ranking Officer currently on the base needs to be set up. Then you and and Ensign Kassie are to arrange everything nessessary to move the station.

I want you all to keep me informed each step of the way.

Admiral Yates, i'm sure you have more pressing matters to attend to but i have things under control here and will keep you and the rest of the high command informed every step of the way.

Any questions??

"Is there a strict deadline for this to be accomplished within? To me, a couple of weeks sounds reasonable for the moving of such a station".
He went to Julian.
"Admiral, is a position of operations open on this station? My rank is Captain, if that is acceptable. I lost ship command when the Skytoucher was destroyed, it appears there is no hurry for me to be reinstated to a ship command".

Mr Archer, from last last travels to and from Dantor, the travel path should be quite clear and free from any hostilities. It should be smooth sailing the whole way. However we still should be on alert incase something should happen.

*computer engage yellow alert*

Archer can you please get in contact with the starships and let them get into position for the moving.

isnt there a way to use the ships deflectors to boost the tractor beam signals therfore increasing shield integrity?

Julian

Im not to sure that would work because of the structural size of the station. its way too big, and too risky, if the warp field wasn't perfect we would lose half the station.

Hodson

Cmdr Hodson walks out of the admirals office and goes to the side of ops and observes things.

"Jullian is there anything you need help with at this time?"

Eugene Archer

=^=Yes, sir. It worked. The shield strength has gone up and now is at 60%. Ensigns Mann and Kassie are now draining extra power from none-critical systems, like replicators, and from the weapons and life support to further increase shield strength. I've ordered the other vessels to also increase tractor beam strength like I did on the Lhasa. That should also help.=^=

*The station and ships jumped to warp again, and everything seemed to be going fine. 6 hours and two more drops out of warp later, the largest part of the journey was completed. 15 minutes after the station and ships had engaged their warp drives for what was to be the final time, something shook the entire station, after which it suddenly dropped out of warp. *

*Archer, who was on the Lhasa, saw this happen and he disengaged the warp drive of his vessel.*

=^=Archer to SS Avalon. I thought we wouldn't have to stop anymore until we reach Dantor. Why have you dropped out of warp?=^=
