Ok, a bit of a predicament for a new guy, but let me work this out.  Is Warp an option, or is that opted out?  Well, I'll make it worst case, no warp.
I would attempt to hail them first, and then if no response, I would consult the Helmsman for next course of action.

You had warp drive but that wouldnt be the prudent course of action in that scenario, True the Helmsmen is the person to talk to for evasive action, but if those warbirds were firing Hailing would do no good and you would have to use your best guess estimation of what to do next, Sometimes Ardeth You have to forgo the chain of command the take the initiative because if you halt you and that ship are good as dead.........

2 warbirds firing on you, you were the ranking officer, helm was a Lt, You would have to take the initiative to cause as much damage as you can while having helm Take Evasive action.

Hmmm, What about this scenario...

You were leading a rescue mission to say recover the captian of the ship that was lost/captured, you found him but you found the person who captured your captian holding a phaser to your captians head, and all he wants to do is kill you, there is no means of negotiations, and he keeps insisting to let him go?,

What would you do in this scenario ?

Your phaser is also set on stun btw.?

5) What way would you take, if you had to infiltrate an enemy base ?, the Shoot them till there dead route ?, or the Sneak bye them without being seen route ?.
