Viktor Kozlov

*Viktor alters a couple of settings on the phaser.

He aims and fires.  The round almosts shreds into three shots hiting each target at least once.

"Well, that was weird." Vikot says stunned.

Lois

Mark stared at Swift for a few seconds, than turned back to the Admiral. He had a feeling that being in the acadamy for the next few days is going to be a bit more irratating.

Apodae Swift

"A grenade would make taking out two groups much easier sir, or having two phasers. But in the event I would only have my rifle I would do something like this." Swift though of using the scatter setting, trouble was that required a lot of power and didn't guarantee hitting the targets. Instead he put the rifle on pulse setting and then fired very quickly, he fired one shot at the first group, then the second group, then the first, then the second and so on. Because of the pulse setting he could fire shots in rapid succession. Granted he could have hit them all perfectly, however he always made the shots hit the targets in a variety of places and not always dead centre and even made sure to Miss one and pick it off later.
"You see sir, my plan is that if I aim at a different one randomly and keep switching groups it stops one I'm shooting at from camping down while the others fire at me." Swift said, thinking it was a sound strategy. "I thought of using a cone wide beam or scatter but the charge that takes from the rifle is high and takes a time to fire meaning that while I take on one group the others could shoot me in the back."

Tom Hobson

As the Cadets worked with the instructor, Hobson entered the holodeck and stood patiently at the door as they worked.

"Take your time if you are in the middle of something, Captain. When you get a moment, I will be outside the holodeck door. I have some ideas to put to your opinion".

He raised his head while taking a breath, and lowered it in a nod to the Cadets, and backed out to the corridor again.

Apodae Swift

"Headstrong?" Swift asked with a smile. "I'll think on that sir." He had a slight tone in his voice that could have accounted to sarcasm, yet not enough for anyone to be sure. It was something his mother had taught him, the officer would pick up on it but not have enough evidence to charge him with anything. "Admiral, Captain, Lieutenant." Swift said to each in turn. "It has been a pleasure. Though I would like to remind you that I did offer to give my life to buy time for Alexia to escape. So I think your comment is, with all due respect to your respective ranks, bogus. As for setting off without her at the beginning, the intel was that we had to 'find and rescue her then escort her to safety out of enemy territory.' It was a search and rescue mission, I didn't know she was going to appear at the start I thought I had to go find her. Therefore I would suggest that next time you get your intel right, sir. Also if you think that blowing holes in the side of a cave to join up with a team mate and pulling off a maneuver that not only collapsed the cave but took out the enemy is head strong, then fine. I still got the job done with Alexia still safe in the process. Hence I would appreciate it if you got off my back... Sir."

<Turns to Swift>

"Very good, not what I wanted to see but good enough.  Now I want you to explain the different tactics used by security officers.  Then explain the standard attack patterns used by Starfleet marines in the event you have to work with them."

<Noticing the Admiral walking in>

"Of course, Ill be right with you." as he said this Admiral Hobson left the holodeck.

"Kozlov, you have the class.  Run them threw history of World war 2.  To learn of the future you must learn the mistakes of the past.  Ill be outside if anything goes wrong." he said this as Simon left the room.

<Walking outside into the DSA Corridor, he walks over to Hobson who was standing nearby>

<Salutes the Admiral>

"Sir, what did you need to speak to me about?" Simon said and waited for a reply.

Apodae Swift

"Listen here." Swift said turning to Alexia. "According to the brief you are playing the role of an ambassadors daughter that me and Lois have to keep safe. I am in command here. So why don't you keep quiet and follow my lead?" Swift threw her a tricorder. "Keep a scan of the area with that, look for any peculiar energy signatures. This guy has a way to move through walls so also look for sudden changes in the geography or changes within the rocks structure. Also keep your phaser up and set on stun, shoot anything you see moving. If it is set on stun and you shoot Lois by accident then it won't really matter."

Simon Rajnus

"Admiral.  Yes, Lois and Alexia both are almost done with there training.  They are still a rough around the edges."

<Turns to the Cadet's>

"Alright heres where you went wrong in this situation.  Lois you are right you took too long to find a correct way of doing it.  Sometimes thinking outside the box will usually save lives in the end.  Tho using wide dispersal is rarely used, its normally used by more experienced officer's unless the rare occasion comes up that throws a ensign into the command position and your stuck in charge.  Sometimes you have to deal with the tough choices.  Fast and in a timely manner."

"Swift, you were too headstrong and always tried for the easy and more abrupt way out of a situation that didnt call for it.  Your first priority here was the safety of the Ambassador who was played by Alexia.  You shouldnt think of fighting first when your main objective is to guard her.  Guarding is part of a security officer's duty and this should be recognized before you EVER! pick up a phaser.  Learn to use your brain before you EVER pick up a phaser."

"That goes for all of you.  Now suggesting for the Ambassador to take her clothes off was disrespectful not to mention uncalled for.  I left you 2 ways out.  One of the ways didnt require you to go and blast your way out threw a cave wall that could have brought the entire tunnel down on you all.  Richard could pass threw the wall because of the way his phaser was set.  Not to mention he knew this was a simulation."

"Admiral, I sent for Richard as a way of putting a obstacle in the cadet's way.  They needed an 'Expect the Unexpected' situation, and Brown performed that function.  Tho kidnapping a cadet was a lil over board but it all turned out alright in the end."

"Any questions Cadets?, if not your dismissed.  Class will begin at 0600 hours tomorrow morning."
