"Scotty, Kawolsky has just asked me if it was alright for you to stay here as his apprentice, and im considering it, tho from a learning perspective hes right out of the academy too which gives my choice some draw backs, because of this.  But I want to know what you think of what he asked me ?"

[Kawolsky]

"I am inclined to agree with Cadet Scotty"

[scotty]

* scotty transports back into the office *

" im ready to beign sir "

[scotty]

" ok then, a 10 second warning should give them time to arm themselves, then transport them, they should arrive in 13 seconds, thats 2 seconds less than the commander expected "

[scotty]

" no sir i mnot familiar with that report "

[Kawolsky]

*Kawolsky re-entered his office. Scotty was waiting there*

"Well, Ensign, It seems that General would like us to bring back this Prince Nesbitt for questioning anyway. Respond to his distress call and tell him that we are on our way, then go to the Delta Flyer and prep it for launch"

*Scotty responded with 'Yes sir' and left for the Delta Flyer*

[scotty]

" well i would like to learn about tactical contorls and the dutys of tactical officers, and anything that you think is appropriate sir "

[Kawolsky]

"Not as such. I would, however, like to ask you how you got interested in the Tactical/Security field?"

[Kawolsky]

"Then, when you graduate, I would like to offer you the position of my Security XO. What do you say?"

[scotty]

* scotty walks back into the room, he stands at attention *

[Balkazar]

"Very well, but keep in mind that if ANY! one of you gets into some kind of trouble during this trial of sorts you come to me and Newberry understood!?.  That includes if you need help."

[Kawolsky]

"Uness in times of war, Starfleet security officers do not generally carry phasers."

[Kawolsky]

*Kawolsky slams his cup on the table and takes out two phasers from his desk*

"Cadet, put that cup down and do as I say! Here, have this. Keep it at low stun at ALL times!! And never tell me what to do cadet!"

*Kawolsky gives Scotty a MKI Phaser.*

"Computer initiate a sight-to-sight transport to Ops"

*The computer beeped and the two disappeared in a bright light*

[Kawolsky]

"Good answer. Sometimes the job of the security officer requires you to ''dig a little deeper'' and your ''gut feeling'' can sometimes play a part in that, even if it sometimes requires disobeying a direct order. Have you read the mission report of Commander Chakotay, of the starship Voyager, on stardate 48423.0?"

[Kawolsky]

"Distress call? To you personally? I don't know Ensign, wait here. I will be back soon"

*Kawolsky left his office for Ops*
