Mission 6: "Unto the Breach"

[Andrea Deveraux]

Deveraux gritted as a photonic rocket passed a few meters from her wing. "Vertigo One to Alpha Company, keep the ground fire to a minimum, you almost took my wing off."

Angel saw a few plasma bolts whiz past her cockpit, and her scanners showed an interceptor on her six. An additional bolt struck her shields to confirm the bogey. "Angel, you've got a tango on your six!" came the cry of Stinger, Vertigo Four.

"I'm well aware of that, Four! Thatch weave, on my mark!" Deveraux looked over her right wing, and made sure Stinger was directly abeam of her position. "Mark!"

The two Pyros turned into one another, their turning radii intersecting as they passed meters from one another, Stinger's craft narrowly sliding under Angel's. As they began to straighten out and turn back to intersect again, Angel punched the throttle another 10%. This caused the Heraani pilot, unaccustomed to human flight techniques, to put himself right in Stinger's reticle as Angel crossed his sights.

"Fox Two!" Stinger announced as a photonic missile left it's mount and struck the Heraani craft hard, tearing it to pieces. "Splash five," called Angel as a kill confirmation, denoting the kill as the fifth since the mission clock started rolling.

[Balkazar]

<In a blue aura the entire marine detachment was beamed down to the surface of the planet>

"Raszagal, take point in the lead puma, HK you have rear, Richards take the left flank, Lobo take right flank, Dolan and Lilque your with me.  LETS MOVE OUT!" Balkazar ordered.

<The air cool and temperate climate, the marines boarded into their Puma's and sped off>

=^= "All marines we are heading for that anti space gun and take that out of commission one way or another.  So change course to 213 mark 243." =^= Balkazar said over the comm.

"Lets get something straight.  You are under my command while your in our presence, NOT! the other way around.  Understood!" Balkazar said berrating Dolan.

[Richard Brown]

*Richard Looked up from the Tatical Station then Walked up to the Bridge Railing leaned on it and looked at the Captian*

"Well, All Systems should be ready for Lunch, Controls are still mostly in Engineing seince were in Dock, but other then that were ship shape" Said Richard

*Richard Looked over at the Information on an Active Computer Screen*

"You got Two options one We Launch in 12 Minites in an Emerencey and get yelled at by the Cheif Enginer or two Launch in 78 Minites" Said Richard

[Rena]

*Rena walked onto the bridge and looked around, then saw the Captain. With a extremely nervous look on her face she spoke*

"Sir, your new XO is here to report in sir." She said waiting for his reaction

<HK was nearby teaching a few of the private's who signed up for technician work the finer ways of maintaining HK's systems as they were sparked several times by defensive systems.  HK then silently laughed to himself as they learned>

Dolan's shift soon ended and he decided to throw the towel in on enhancing the ship's systems.  They were just too primitive to spend the time and energy on increasing by a small fraction.  Dolan headed for a holosuite, feeling the need to revisit the UEF Military Academy.  It might not have been his proper home, but it was the first place he called home, despite his origins.  Upon arrival at an open holosuite, he went inside and began to program a place that resembled the academy as Dolan recalled from the academy's blueprints and schematics.

*RIchard Just folded his Hands and Looked up at the Commander and Had an Sly Look on his Face*

"I, See, as with my Extra Dutys, I am reqired to Investgate Things, Intresting, Very Intersting" Said Richard Slying

[Voyager]

Dolan finished programming a virtual version of the UEF Military Academy located on Earth.  It appeared very forbidding, with varying shades of gray covering the entire campus and an occasional tree or plant and even a small park in one area.  It seemed to radiate centuries of experience and endurance.  The people that were strolling the grounds all wore a dark blue uniform with a UEF symbol on the front and arm.  Small groups of people that looked somewhat similar to the Borg were regarded by the other people just a cut above servants.

Dolan noticed it was almost time for his shift and turned off his program and returned to the bridge shortly after.

<The Normandy flew in close to the planet and transported the marines down to the planet in less then 5 seconds.  Then the ship jumped to warp before the cruisers could get into weapons range>

Dolan struggled to remain in his seat as stray missiles from the above fight struck the ground near the ground troops.  According to his latest scans, the ETA at the cannon was about 10 minutes from now...and that was without factoring all of the fighting above them.  Rubble was starting to accumulate because of the fight, making it more difficult for the ground forces to find passable terrain.

Dolan sent a warning to the air squadrons.

Please take caution.  Sensors have picked up multiple anti-aircraft turrets in the area and they will not hesitate to fire on you.  Be prepared to take evasive maneuvers as we approach the cannon.

Dolan observed the U.S.S. Normandy with a critical eye, already coming up with ways to improve it before he even stepped on the ship.  However, he ignored those cravings and headed to the closest turbolift.

"Deck 6," Dolan ordered and he soon stepped off on to Deck 6, right next to the primary computer core.  He moved to the closest open console and began to improve the algorithms of all of the computers networked to the computer core, resulting in an even faster processing speed, though not to the levels of bio-neural circuitry.
