Mission 6: "Unto the Breach"

[Raszagal]

"Insolent child race," she muttered to herself as she made her way back over to the motor pool.

"The nerve!" Raszagal thought to herself. "Threatening me with retribution from the Order! Sometimes I think I'd be better off with the Klingons! At least they respect real warriors and wouldn't coddle a needy little robot!"

[Simon Rajnus]

"Your more then welcome to continue your XO duties, I just wanted to make sure our past wouldnt effect your judgement in the present is all." Rajnus said getting up from behind his desk and moved to the door.  "Shall we?" Rajnus asked Rena.

[Richard Brown]

*Richard Noded as he Looked back at the Tatical Station going over the Combat Systems*

"Captian, when we Warp In, our Sheilds will Only Last two Direct hits, given the Regs for In system, we have to Break regs and Drop out Of Warp right Above the Planet in an Emerencey Full Stop" Said Richard

(OFF: It came from the fact that it seems like everyone is calling you "Director", even if very hush-hush. Both Dolan on Avalon Station, and now Biggins here.)

Raszagal jumped out of the Puma, and began grabbing photon microtorpedo launchers, and loading them into the weapons lockers on the Pelican. She also climbed onto the Puma's phaser turret, and made sure all was in order.

[Voyager]

Dolan was about to answer Rajnus's question about the sensors when Biggins appeared on the bridge.  He wondered where Biggins could have possibly beamed in from, since sensors had not picked up any other Starfleet ships in the region.  Then again, they hadn't been picking up too much since they entered the vicinity of the Heraani system.

Dolan decided to answer Rajnus's question and said cautiously, "The emitter beam has improved scans of the region marginally.  At least we know where the planet is now.  However, I have a feeling the Heraan might be able to use this against us.  From what I can tell, they could probably figure out a way to use the emitter beam to focus on their cannon on us."

[Balkazar]

<Balkazar had ordered the marines in the rear to continue to fire on the Heraan craft>

"Dolan, find me a weakness NOW!" Balkazar said as he coodinated with the troops.

"Lilque, your men ready?" Balkazar asked her.

=^= "Raszagal we are 10 minutes from our target.  Hows things going up there." =^= Balkazar asked over the comm.

=^= "Angel, I need you to redeploy to 213 mark 243.  Once your done clearing up the fighters up there.  Do make it quick the Anti space cannon is heavily fortified and we will need your aerial support.  Our scans say that the gun cant target small fighters effectively which gives you the advantage." =^= Balkazar said to the Wing leader.

[Aaron Cloud]

Cloud walks onto the bridge.

"Rajnus, sir. I've checked and double checked the sick bay. We're ready if we take heavy casualties and injuries."

<As the marines assembled, Balkazar looked around to make sure everyone was accounted for, then began the breifing>

"Alright, LISTEN UP!, We are going yet again into unfriendly territory and compared to our last mission it should be a peice of cake.  Our mission is that once we hit planet side, we are to proceed to a Heraan outpost thats rumored to be in the area, from intelligence reports we have the honor of fighting against an elite heraan squad that is placed at the outpost protecting it from invaders like US!.  So here is the break down, we land, and take out the base is the most expedient way possible.  So that means since they have a orbital canon in place to prevent ships other then Heraani vessel's from landing, we have to blow up that cannon, then disrupt any and all jamming devices they may have to prevent communications with the ship.  Once we go that then the outpost can be bombarded from orbit with relative ease.  We will be taking on the base defenses as well as the elite guard themselves.  So skirmishing is required, this is not a full frontal assault marines, this has to be done threw guerilla tactic's.  ANY QUESTIONS?!" Balkazar asked.

[Rena]

*Rena just looked at Simon with a completely blank look on her face*

"Sir, excuse me, but I was not aware I would be your XO it was an assignment from Starfleet that I took on a whim. And of course I understand the rules. Honestly I have to admit it sir, I used to have feelings, but after everything, I no longer have them. So all I will say it that I will do my duties as your XO and my duties toward the ship, but don't ever make the mistake of thinking that my loyalty lies with my personal feelings, because it doesn't. You broke my heart once, never again sir. And if there is nothing else, I will leave you. " Rena Retorted with anger in her voice while remaining calm

[Rena]

"Sir, I give you my word I can do my duties with no defect in my judgement. And if anything, our past expirences should only prove to help my judgement, considering I believe I know you well. and you I so it should only improve things." she said with certainty

*she crossed her leg over her other, and leaned forward to continue speaking*

"Simon, I am not sore about the past, it is just that the past, all I ask for in return is the opportunity to continue our friendship and allow me to serve as your XO" she requested calmly

"Alright Dolan.  Your the one with the special gifts, try and figure out a way to penetrate the radiation with our sensors.  We really shouldnt be flying blind into anything specially since we dont know if the Heraan have a couple cruiser's guarding the planet." Rajnus told Dolan.

Dolan barely stopped himself from rolling his eyes at Balkazar's comment.  The space cannon might target slowly, but it certainly could target a small fighter...the projectile only had to nick its shields and the fighter would be sent spiralling out of control.  Fortunately, most of the fighter craft were under the cannon's firing range anyway.

"Colonel, I'd like to correct you.  There are many smaller anti-aircraft weapons bordering the cannon, so sending aerial support would be risky.  There are also anti-personnel and anti-vehicle weapons bordering the cannon, so we probably need to fire missiles or some other projectile from a quite a distance to avoid being under fire.  Unfortunately, the landing Heraani troops are going to complicate things."

"As for weaknesses in the cannon, it seems our only option is to destroy it from the inside.  The structure is designed to take a severe pounding from the outside, so blowing it up from the inside would be much easier...unless we happen to have a number of tactical nuclear bombs with us.  It seems at the moment the best place to destroy it would be from underneath the gun, which puts the explosives under the risk of being seized by the Heraan, since it would take some time to get out of the blast radius."

<Down on the marine deck, Simpson was hard at double checking and even tripple checking to make sure all the vehicles and marines had their first aid kits and such packed right and made sure all the new recruits had their first aid kits in their bags, he then gave a PADD to a private and told him to deliver it to the Col.  As he saw Lilque come in, he remembered the few nights before and quickly left the marine deck before she saw him, once outside the marine deck he quickly made his way to the Sickbay>
