"That is quite a challenge, It will certainly be a ship for the history books, but we act as if it is complete, there is the chance it does not work. The Excalibur, it will always be the flagship of Nova fleet even with the Interceptor built, I will not have it pushed to the side with this new one built. Part of me does not want this new ship built so great, the Excalibur's glory will be a rumor if it is done"

"Nice to see some crew finally. You can still attend the academy when the project is complete. But i will be travelling to SS Avalon soon, you may join me as an aid and attend at the same time. Acually i prefer that. I'm rather in need of an aid these days."

"You are going to get actual command experience cadet, no simulations. No essays, no work problems. Thats how I work, nothing prepares you for the real thing like...the real thing!". He laughed. "I am going to assign you as Liason to Admiral Fisher, you will go with him and Crewman Tyqel"

"We have little to go on. But i had a few ideas for a general start. A few different options to present to senior admirality. One is a ship with 3 Nacelles, mainly to support to size of the structure and to maintain fast speed. It would need to be slick not bulky to keep a natural design of a ship. And the most disdinquishing thing to be double decked saucer sections. With connections going vertically evenly placed for turbolifts and connection. Generally keeping to a base of a Galaxy Class design as far as saucers. The saucer of a Galaxy is most fitting to be "stacked" that is only one idea though. The goal of the Intercepter Conference is to make the design their with great minds from all around. I need to work with that also. Purphaps we can travel together to SS Avalon."

"I feel the same way. But the purpose for the new ship is because so many other divisions have matched the Excalibur. Making it just 'one of the boys'. It has become a competition. As an engineering division we need to keep impressing. Its the only way we grow. Evolution of technology is a constant. As is obsoletion. Take it from this wise old man."

"Welcome! I am Fleet Admiral Tom Hobson, with me is Admiral Gary Fisher. I hear you may not attend the academy? You should know that if you do not, you will not be able to move into a postion of command, or of starfleet rank. If you would like to be a Non Commisioned Officer, you can start straight away with Admiral Fisher in the Engineering Center, the Interceptor is in design process right now"

[Will Matthews]

Matthews walks into the promenade and addresses the admiral
"Cadet William Matthews reporting for duty sir! I am here to become command educated. What are my orders?"

Hobson and Fisher walk in and take seats at the bar.
"...I understand that you are undercrewed...well...no crew, but I am working on it for you. I think alot of cadets will be interested, and who wouldn't be! This project is huge!".

"I would want the Conference at DS20, but we need to have a Full idea before we make it official. The focus is to have this ship be one that can go on maiden voyages longer than the Excalibur, and the Excalibur can go a long while. It would need enough weapons, enough power. I know multiple warp cores are a must, and a way for it to split into sections when the need came. What makes the ultimate starship? A ship not only for research, exploration, war...one for all purposes. It needs to be realistic, not a fantasy, but in all senses, it would be fantasy to attempt such a ship"

[Tyqel]

*enters the pub and walks over*

"I was sent to meet one of you admirals about working on the Interceptor Project"

getting up..

"Come with me then, we will take a runnabout to SS Avalon. I desire a tour and to meet with the High Command about the Flag Ship title"

"The academy sounds like a nice place, i was thinking while i wasn't working here i could go to SS Avalon, to recruit cadets personally and meet with high ranking officers about the Interceptor."
