"Congratulations.  Welcome to the marines officially." <Extends his hand to shake Olivers>

"Hmmmm, so you have any questions before I assign you to active duty?" he inquired.

<Seeing the Vulcan enter his office>

"Of course, I was just reading over some DSA files to see if there were anyone interested in the marines.  Tell me what field of Engineering are you into?"

"We know that its in the thousands and they probly have more ships inbound to reinforce there presense.  Make sure when planning the defense that there has to be a place where the command staff of the base is secured at and theres cover where the heavy gunners can provide cover with there weapons got it?.  We will be bringing Puma's, Pelicans, Phaser rifles, grenades, you name it, we will bring it, even plasma Gattling guns.  Hence the name 'heavy weapons'." he responded.

"Was he? I don't know..."

*stands up and paces*

"I do remember one story he told me. He had an ornamental dagger, an old one...that was his great grandfathers. His grandfather had found it in a dig on some planet. His grandfather said it was extremely old, and that he wasn't sure who it belonged to...it was thought that a race had occupied the planet quite some time before. What i think is...that the dagger, wherever it is...is a felian (or felian) item. I don't know for sure...i'd have to ask him."

[Balkazar]

<Looks at the dagger then looks back at cadet Bailey with a confused look>

"That dagger hasnt changed shape or switched forms, Cadet.  But if there such cannibals then they wont come near those who are better then they are for we are technological superior to any primitives."

[Balkazar]

"Welcome.  Are.......you a civilian ?"

[Jacob Ressik]

"Myself no.  The Government yes, the war left us exposed to Invasion, Once your in the Army you can't leave with ease, Myself, on a moments notice i'm on the next shuttle home."

Balkazar gets up and goes to the replicator and asks for a rootbeer

<Turning to Jacob>

"Wouldyou like anything?" he asks

"anything good" he replies

<Just before Kassie and Braxton enter>
"Recon and heavy combat, sounds like fun"
<Just then Kassie and Braxton rushes into the room>

Sergeant Ressik leaves the office and is back in 20 minutes

"better hurry up sir, we are almost ready for departure, oh and heres your gear" he says handing over Balkazar's combatt gear.

<2.5 minutes later>
The pelicans, and fighters prepare for depature.  Lt Colonel Balkazar enters one of the pelicans followed shortly by Sergeant Ressik.

as soon as they are onboard the hatches are closed and the force lifts off

"It's all operational." Ressik says before Balkazar heads off to ops.

Ressik moves a bout and stows his gear before moving to ops.

"I will make note to go through the database then, thank you sir. As soon as I am dismissed, I shall begin my assignment as quickly as possible"

"How much of the other fields of Engineering do you know?.  I ask because we may need to set up quick defenses at some point with lil time to prepare them.  Or set up a forward base in enemy territory with base defenses and you will have a day to do it in.  Or set up landing Pad's for Pelicans or repair depot's for Puma's." he told the Private.

"We are a Marine Corp. who just so happens to have the pleassure of doing some of the most dangerous missions known to Starfleet.  We can be deployed on some strange world who is in open revolt and we will have to subdue them.  I need to know you can handle a situation where you will have to make a choice.  Shoot the man whos about to shoot you, or let the man doing the shooting kill innocents." he inquired.
