Simon Rajnus

Captain Rajnus - Bridge, USS Normandy

"So your pretty much saying after your long winded explaination.  Smaller ships go into the enemy fleet sense they probly wont get shot as easily as the bigger ships?.  I agree, I hope Commodore Taurik realize's that we should use the weaker ships to fly between the enemy vessel's if he doesnt then we are severly screwed." Rajnus said to Dolan.

"Dolan, Im surprised you havent brought me an idea of how to increase our combat effectiveness yet." Rajnus said looking at Dolan.

((They have weapons))

Captain Rajnus - Bridge, USS Amazon

<The Amazon, flew through the fleet of Heraan ships as they tried to assault Gallifrey.  Weaving through the ship, the Amazon fired phaser and torpedo alike causing some damage to the bigger ships while destroying the smaller ships with ease>

<Sparks flying everywhere on the bridge as the Heraan weapons impacted the Amazon's shield's as Rajnus gripped the command chair trying to keep himself from being thrown out of the seat>

"Tactical, reroute tri-vector mode to the computer and give it control over the sections." Rajnus ordered.

"Yes sir." the tactical officer yelled out over the chaos.

"Tri-Vector mode NOW!" Rajnus ordered.

<The tactical officer initiated the Tri-Vector program, the ship split into 3 sections becoming 3 ships instead of 1, they glided through the lines weaving between each other causing major damage to the fleet as the computer was in charge of the other 2 sections>

"Computer, attack pattern theta 1, attack those Heraan vessels." Rajnus ordered the computer, the computer then beeped signaling it understood.

<They 3 sections opened fire with phaser and Torpedo making a small gap in the lines of the attacking Heraan force trying to gain orbital control over Gallifrey>

Will Karelia

Admiral Karelia - Outskirts of Antioch

Karelia ducked behind the hulk of a Heraani tank while plasma fire streaked over their heads. He then turned to the lieutenant that was trying to speak to him over the commotion. "Lt. Dolan, at your service, Admirals," Dolan said as soon as the Admirals were within hearing range.  "My team will do our best to keep you safe.  I need any information you can provide about the location of the Gallifrey Council memb--" The lieutenant paused a moment. "Nevermind, then.  It seems you're going to have to stick with me for a little while longer.  After we reach the Council members, a Pelican should arrive shortly to pick us up.  We'll be heading back for the marine encampment after that."

Will shouted to be heard over the noise. "Get a Pelican down here ASAP, we're more than ready to get moving," he said, pointing to the councillors only a few dozen meters away. "I know I could sure as hell stand to be out of this mess!"

A plasma bolt struck only a few centimeters from Will's head, and the admiral popped out over the body of the fallen hovertank. He aimed his phaser at one of the attacking soldiers, and fired. The phaser beam struck the Heraan's body shields, and quickly overloaded them, as Karelia had the phaser on setting twelve out of sixteen. The blast seemed to also char the armor of that soldier, but did not severely injure it, and it began running toward them. His phaser's battery had very little charge remaining, and Will had to think fast. He wrenched a piece of plating from the fallen tank, and ducked low to avoid being seen. The Heraan jumped onto and over to their side of the tank, and as soon as it landed, it whirled to see Will slamming the hull shard into it's face as hard as possible. With it's shields down, the alien's unprotected cranium was vulnerable, and the force of the beam crushed it's head quite fatally.

Sighing from the exertion of the swing, Will grabbed the fallen soldier's plasma rifle, and resumed his effort to hold out until the Pelican arrived.

Narsh

Fleet Director Narsh - Delta Alliance Fleet - Heraan flank

*a long expected call from the federation came in*

=^=Admiral Julian to Delta Alliance Fleet, Fleet Director Narsh, we have located the command ship of the Heranni fleet and plan on punching through and taking it out. However we may need a distraction. =^=

*the DA command ship was shaking from the impact of the last wave of fighter attacks*

Fire all cannons!

=^=Admiral Julian this is Fleet Director Narsh, if its a distraction you want, its a distraction you'll get.. Narsh out=^=

comms officer, open a fleet channel

Comms: aye sir, channel open

=^=this is Narsh, all ships form up and get ready to attack the two carrier ships at these locations. Instruct the Borg to attack the two capital ships at these locations.=^=

*he sent the coordinates of fighter carriers that had kept away from the the front lines while the fighters they launched did all the work. There were 12 in total all within range of eachother. A direct attack on the carriers would be unexpected as they were too far from to front lines. However the Delta Alliance and Borg fleet were not on the front lines...*

=^=Wait for my order to fire. =^=

*the moment grew more intense as the fleets moved closer and closer to the carriers who now knew of what was approaching them. Multiple squads of fighter turned from the front lines and returned to defend the carriers. A number of cruisers also changed corse to intercept.*

=^=All capital ships fall to the back of the line and deploy mines, we dont want any suprises coming from behind=^=

*at that moment, the form of the fleet changed. The capital ships slowed to the back of the fleet and started deploying mines to cover the flank of the fleet.*

*the fleet finally came within range of the carriers, however 60% of the Heraan Fleet were now heading towards the carriers to aid in the protection of the carriers of which had hundreds of fighters deployed.*

Comms officer open another channel with the federation fleet.

=^=Admiral Julian, as you can see, you have your distraction, lets just hope we both survive to see this through. If not, then it was an honour to server with the federation. Narsh out.=^=

*and with that the Fleet Director turned and looked at his crew.*

Lets give them hell.

=^=All ships FIRE!!!=^=

Taurik

Master Taurik - Citadel of Adun

The battle between Taurik, the embodiment of Gallifrey; and Ar'Krakh, the embodiment of the Na'jigat, was a fierce one. The two warriors fought with speed and vigor beyond the range of any single being. Most of the battle was a blur, no outside observer would be able to track a specific movement. This was only on the surface, however, as the psionic battle between the two continued.

To the two warriors-turned-avatars, moments passed as if they were millenia. The combat seemed unending, and the neurogenic radiation caused by their telepathic output was enough to render even the remaining active members of the strike team unconscious. And although the advantage was hard fought, the wrath of the Gallifreyans began to win out against the Na'jigat.

On the outside, energy blades were flying wildly, the center of the antechamber brightly lit by flares of impact between the weapons. Taurik had since drawn his second khala and was beginning to press Ar'Krakh into a desperate defense. The warmaster could not keep up with the twin weapons, disadvantaged by his single energy bracer and constant distraction of the Gallifreyan's mental attack. Taurik saw his opening and smashed against the bracer with one weapon, using the other to sever the Heraan's arm.

Defeated, Ar'Krakh fell to the ground, and screamed as the Na'jigat desperately launched a psionic barrage against Taurik, one the Gallifreyan's focus could finally render useless. And as Taurik stood over the injured warmaster, he spoke in a collective voice that would bring pause to even the Borg. "You are vanquished. All that have fallen to your hunger are avenged. And your evil - the evil that doomed Scion to destruction - has come to an end." Taurik stepped forward in his own mind, as if emerging from a crowd, and took full control of his body. Locking eyes with the warmaster, he saw a glint of fear just before swinging his khala.

With the warmaster defeated, Taurik fell to his knees, and the collective of Gallifreyan minds slowly unraveled, leaving Taurik on the floor, alive but appearing as dead as Ar'Krakh. He remained on the floor for several minutes, simply breathing and rediscovering the feeling on being alone in one's mind. It was as he remembered, but he also felt changed, incomplete. And as he got to his feet, he felt a presence, one that seemed to welcome him. It was without words, simply a feeling. It was unfamiliar, but almost felt warm.

Voyager

Lieutenant Dolan - Command Vehicle, Planet containing Heraani Cannon

The situation was growing dire.  The marines were essentially pinned down by Heraani forces and making it difficult to move forward.  The only options were to hold their ground and retreat and the only viable option was to hold their ground.  Dolan come up with a way to destroy the cannon, but it would rely on very precise timing from the Normandy to rescue the marines...in any case, the marines had to get inside the cannon and that wasn't happening any time soon.

Taurik

Captain Taurik - Cockpit, Cardinal Virtue

Taurik expertly piloted the Cardinal Virtue through the titanic space doors and made way around the inner circumference of the station, toward it's assigned docking slip. Before he could reach it, however, he felt the thoughts of Master Legudon. He immediately docked the ship as quickly as possible, and performed the most abbreviated post-flight routine he could get away with, before making a beeline for the turbolift.

Teranis

Lt. Commander Teranis - U.S.S Iroquois, Engineering

*Shocked at the last comments the Captain made, Teranis simply saluted his superior and started work on installing the new device. About 20 minutes past and everything was installed. Teranis started to run a diagnostic on the device and sent the results to his station on the bridge. He entered the turbolift and spoke to the computer.*

Bridge.

*the turbolift doors closed and the lift proceeded to head towards the bridge... A few seconds later the lift doors opened and Teranis walked onto the bridge. Teranis turned and proceeded to his station to read the diagnostic.*

Captain, the new Validium Inductor Emitter seems to be running without any problems. Everything else in engineering is all set. We are as ready as we will ever be.

Voyager

Lieutenant Dolan - Command Vehicle, Heraani Border World

As the marines retreated rapidly from the space cannon, Colonel Balkazar signaled to the Normandy to transport the marines back to the ship.  The Heraan seemed very surprised at the sudden retreat of the marines, if their sudden slowing in their pace was any indication.

The Normandy soon arrived and began transporting marines as soon as the ship got a lock on them.  Within minutes, all of the surviving marines and vehicles were transported back to the Normandy and the ship departed the planet as fast as it had arrived.  However, the reactors at the space cannon had overloaded before the ship could fully escape the blast radius and so the ship was hit by the resulting shockwave, throwing the ship out of control for several seconds.  Control of the ship was soon restored though and the ship set a course back to Avalon Station.

Voyager

Lieutenant Dolan - Bridge, USS Normandy

"Well, it probably isn't my place to give tactical advice..." said Dolan, hesitating momentarily, before continuing.  "From what I can see, the weaker vessels should do what ever they can to protect the stronger vessels, including intercepting enemy fire with the ship itself.  Supportive fire from these weaker vessels should be a secondary priority.  If our enemies are as powerful as I am being told, the stronger vessels need to be given as much time as possible to inflict damage to the enemy before taking damage themselves.  In this spirit, there should be several small groups of ships diving deep into the enemy formation, since if the enemy tries to fire on them, their missed shots will likely hit one of their allied vessels, and, as those ships are likely to be destroyed sooner or later, they can be considered expendable."  Dolan paused for a moment, thinking, and then added, "As for ships carrying troops, such as ours, we should make our way to the planet as quickly as possible without compromising the ship and deploy the troops at strategic locations.  We would then rejoin the main fleet and resume protecting the stronger ships of the fleet...that is, unless you want to perform one of those raiding tactics I mentioned earlier."

Voyager

Lieutenant Dolan - Main Controls, Escape Pod

=/\= Acknowledged, setting course there now. =/\=

Dolan relayed those coordinates to the rest of the escape pods.  Fortunately, most of the escape pods were by now in no danger of being attacked by the Heraan or their allies and they adjusted their course accordingly.

Dolan now relaxed somewhat, in order to assess the situation.  The Heraan and their allies were now in disarray with the loss of one of their larger ships and a large gap having appeared in the center of their forces.  Dolan thought the ship was likely a carrier, due to its large size, which seemed more designed toward giving fighter support than going in an open confrontation with another vessel.  In any case, the Heraan were still giving the Gallifreyans and their allies a very difficult time.  While the Heraan had taken more losses, their forces were more expendable, if they continued assault was any indication.  Dolan's calculations and subsequent results were grim - to say the least, if the Gallifreyans didn't get a miracle, their success was dangerously slim.

Dolan was woken out of his musing by the console's beeping.

"We are about the begin reentry, so please hold on tight," Dolan explained to his passengers, "Once we land, make sure you're armed and ready for a tough battle.  We're going to have to wait for the marines, since going out and searching for them is too dangerous."  Dolan then input several commands into the console as the escape pod entered Gallifrey's atmosphere.

Not too long after, Dolan manuevered the escape pod into a landing on top of a high hill overlooking the city of Antioch.  Dolan grimaced as he looked down at the city - numerous areas were in flames, with large clouds of smoke covering many districts of the massive city.  Dolan turned away from the damaged city as dozens of other escape pods landed nearby Dolan's.  He began coordinating an effort to fortify the area until the marines could arrive.

Dar'Nas

Ensign Dar'Nas, USS Normandy Escape pod
Dar'Nas set a evasive course towards Gallifrey at best possible speed. The console beeped alerting him that the starboard thruster was failing and would be offline in 14.38 seconds. Dar'Nas contacted his superior and reported in. He knew the Heraan would dect it but it was his only chance to relay his landing coordinates in code.

The pod was just about to enter the upper atmosphere when the thruster went offline with a soft nudge. Dar'Nas was able to compensate with the other three but would still reenter too quickly for anyones liking.

The air in the cabin began to get slightly warmer, a short ensign was the first to notice. Dar'Nas redirected power from all nonesintila systems to the structural integrity field and the remaining thrusters. The pod began to hum with the increased speed, Dar'Nas aimed the pod toward a small body of water and waited.

"Brace for impact" said Dar'Nas when the pod was 10 seconds from the lake. The pod hammered into the water about 5 meters off shore.  After activating the pods outer hatch the crew began to swim to shore. After treating a minor laceration he realized the Heraan were half a minute away.
Dar'Nas and two others cut down two trees for cover. After 4 minutes of almost continuous phaser fire a tall ensign saw the Pelican approaching on the horizon.
Dar'Nas ordered to cease fire. This confused the Heraan but only for an instant when the realization struck them. The Pelican fired and cleared a area for retreival of the Normandy crew.
