Mission 11: "Impromptu Heroism"

Taurik

Taurik found himself hard-pressed simply to keep the aliens from slicing him open with their blades. He was up against three creatures now, each wearing two energy bracers, whilst he had his khala only. Several times, he found himself millimeters from death, only saving himself with a well-placed parry or a conveniently-timed psi-blast.

Only a handful of Gallifreyan knights ever learned the art of dual-wielding, Taurik recalled. If ever there was a time to learn, it was now. As if a gift from Adun himself, the opportunity presented itself. Taurik made an upward reverse-swing, cleanly separating the right arm from one of the attacking aliens. Slamming the now-handicapped attacker into the wall with a force blast, as well as his friends, he pulled the bracer from the arm and managed to find time to affix it to his arm. Activating the weapon was achieved the same as with his khala, simply by channeling a small amount of psionic energy through it.

Convinced the odds would be slightly evened, Taurik faced his opponents, who seemed angrier than ever, and who's eyes shone nearly as blue as his weapon. Unfortunately, he was forced to realize that, while his control of a single blade was expert, his use of twin blades, especially that of differing styles, was significantly less. Several times during his fight, he deactivated the Heraani bracer to concentrate on his single weapon, using the secondary blade more as a surprise attack, knowing the aliens would not likely be able to anticipate his second blade if they were occupied by his khala.

Another of the attackers eventually fell dead, leaving Taurik to deal with the lone remainder... or so he thought. Convinced that their lone comrade would fall against Taurik, the other three aliens dropped to the floor. Taurik, now faced with four enemies, knew he had reached his limit. He began to to back toward the exit, the aliens' eyes glowing brightly with rage and bloodlust. Taurik knew he would be unlikely to defeat four expertly-trained assassins, even with his superior psionic skills.

As he retreated slowly, the previous thought struck him again. Every Heraani elite he had previously faced had shown considerable skill in both swordsmanship and the psionic arts. However, these aliens showed blade skill equal to that of a Gallifreyan Templar or a Heraani commander, but they displayed no psionic ability other than that of cloaking their own thoughts.

Thump.

Taurik's back hit the wall. He was out of room to retreat, and the aliens were closing in. He raised his blades, determined to kill as many as he could before he inevitably fell.

T'lana

OOC: Sorry Sarpedon, I haven't forgotten about you there, just couldn't think of anything for you to do. I wasn't sure if you could post since you said you would be too busy till the weekend. But Taurik has just given me an idea.

IC:

"If that is the case Captain, then the Kelata is at your disposal, the Slipspace Engine or more commonly known as a Slipstream Drive can get us there in no time at all. As humans say."

T'lana then turned back to Morgan.

"If  you are better now, please complete the repairs on the reactor, the intruder's PADD is still in the Supply Closet if that is any help.

=A=T'lana to Kelata=A=

"Mr. Sarpedon, interested in a trip to Gallifrey? Computer two to tesseract."

=A=T'lana Out=A=

Taurik and T'lana were both enveloped in the tesseract field and were translocated to the Kelata.

T'lana then went to command.

"Na'Shaya Mr. Sarpedon, please take ops, I will instruct you on how to pilot the Kelata another time. Captain, please take tactical."

(OFF: Basically, the planet just has thin air.)

"Very well. Prepare another--"

The ship rocked as a plasma torpedo slammed against the side of the ship, and two Heraani destroyers pulled out from behind a large asteroid.

"Red alert!" Taurik ordered. "Ensign, return fire!"

Holographic Officer Beta

=^=Holographic Officer Beta to USS Rivendell=^=
"Five to beam out."

((OOC: I can't remember how many I said I had in the away team, so lets just say it's five :P))

As Beta and his team materialised in one of the transporter rooms, Beta turned to leave them to their ship-board duties and headed to the bridge.

==Bridge==

The door at the back of the bridge slid open, and Beta stepped through it and saluted to the Captain.

"Holographic Officer Beta, reporting back on-board, Sir."

T'lana

As T'lana began eating her Entree, she looked at Morgan,

"The Rivendell is functioning within normal parameters, most of the previous crew moved on and we now have Academy Graduates.
Tell me Morgan, where have you been? Not a word from you until now."

T'lana

"I apologize Morgan, what is it that you want to know?"

T'lana asked as she walked down another corridor and up several tears to a double pneumatic door.

Placing a Strontium Titanate Data Crystal into the reader beside the door, it opened to reveal an umbilical tube.

Morgan Freeman

"I give you my word that the craft will not be copied in any way.  I hope we can build a working relationship between our people Sagittarii."  Morgan said politely.

T'lana

In the absence of the Captain, T'lana had taken the Command Chair.

"Beta is a hologram Mr. Sarpedon, when the station is up and running we shall retrieve it, until then there are greater concerns." T'lana stated in a very Vulcan way.

Having a moment of maternal instinct she walked up to Givrillian and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I know he is a member of the Rivendell crew Mr. Sarpedon, but until the station is up and running, there is nothing we can do, I am sorry."

T'lana regained her composer and made her way back to the command chair and sat down.

=A=T'lana to Freeman=A=

"Mr. Freeman, your presence is required on the Radiant Thunder."

Givrillian Sarpedon

Sarpedon saw the torpedoes and other weapons fire coming towards the ship on his instruments, and banked the ship hard to port and 'down' to it's relative sense of direction, knowing Beta could still fire easily enough with the ship in motion. He managed to avoid the majority of the incoming fire, but a small amount of it impacted on the Transduction Barrier.

Sarpedon drew the ship round so that it was once again on a heading for the planet, the ships and the now defunct defence platforms.

"Monitor the area, see if we can get a better trace on that distress signal."

Taurik took the chance to break the tension that he noticed was building, for the sake of the newer officers. "Commander, I never got a chance to thank you for your timely arrival during the previous mission. Had you not arrived when you did, the mission would likely not have succeeded."

HK47

OOC**OK!, this is the last time im going to say it!, HK47 was the only name I could think of and it sounded good, still does.  If your not careful ill come up with another droid to bother the heck of you all.  Maybe an evil one. *winks*

IC**

"Droids dont bicker commander.  I think you should catch up on what droids are before making such an emotional statement as that."

Bran Tragare

"well if they have yet to send the emergency signal then why dont we just hail them now and explain to thenm what is happening"

OOC: forgive me if i am wrong but wouldnt others have picked up this distress call and isnt it common procedure to relay this distress calll back to starfleet immediately upon recieveing it, thus also the evolution would have recieved the relayed message seeing an distress call is broadcasted on an open channel so everyone can hear it
Ship: U.S.S Rivendell
Name: Bran Tragare
Rank: Ensign
Position: Tactical

OOC: Should have kept the Temporal anomaly...lol

OOC: I was just looking at the schematics, this thing has about 3 bridges! lol

OOC: That is because it is a Promethus Class ship. which is three attack vessels in one.

IC: *Functioning Normally what is she an android or something* No she is worse a Vulcan.

OOC 2: Sorry I thought a good McCoy quote was needed.
