Mission 3: "Rescue and Retrieval"

"Your lucky your not a Marine I would put you in the brig for not knowing what marine equipment we have.  But your lucky im in a somewhat good mood.  Pelicans are somewhat like a shuttle but more easier to offload equipment and such.  Puma's are like Cars that Earth used to drive in the early 1900's." Balkazar explained to Dolan.

"Sir, We've reached the planet. I'm dropping us out of warp"

*Watches the viewingscreen*

"No, leave them! We need to return to the planet. General Brown, please contact Major Balkazar!"

[Voyager]

"Yes sir," said Dolan.  He hurried to the shuttle bay and into one of the shuttles.  He went to one of the consoles, redid what he did to the ship's deflector to get the EMP so the shuttle could create an EMP for a short burst of about 1 second.  After double checking that an EMP would go off, he accidentally managed to set the controls of the ship in such a was that it could be controlled from the bridge.

Dolan got out of the shuttle and tapped his comm badge.  "Dolan to the bridge, I have set up the EMP and have created the controls of the ship so that it can be controlled from the bridge.  I'm on my way back to the bridge now."

He then went back to the bridge, wondering if the EMP might be too strong and cause the Felian vessels to explode.  the shuttle will likely be destroyed by the explosions.

OOC:  You might as well call it an EMP, EM pulse doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.  And it might be best if this shuttle is destroyed in the explosions of the Felian ships, there has to be a good reason EMPs aren't used in Star Trek and I believe we should continue that.

Also I transferred the control of the shuttle to the bridge just for convenience and so that no one has to die when all to consoles explode.  I made it accidental IC because a) I'm not trained as an engineer and b) it doesn't like a good thing if shuttles and star ships were controlled by a remote control of sorts on the bridge.

"No offense intended, Colonel, I didn't know too much about the battle, just that it happened at a fortress somewhere," Dolan said quickly and added, "I'm sorry about your brother."  He felt sorry for not getting more information on what happened before speaking.  Dolan then privately mumbled to himself, "And I didn't say some fortress, I said a fortress of some kind."  He then cleared his throat and asked the Colonel, "What pelican are you talking about?  I hope you didn't mean the bird."  He then wondered, Just how large is this ship?  200 marines...I wonder how large the crew must be.

Trying to extend this mission a little here, an ambush of some kind couldn't be too bad...right?

"Well, the ambush might not be targeting the marines, it could be an attack on the ship or an attempt to steal it," Dolan replied a little nervously, "And I wasn't suggesting the marines couldn't cope with it, it just seems possible that this could be a trap.  It was too easy that we were lead to this planet.  They didn't even try to cover their tracks.  They probably could have easily figured out how the warp plasma acting as a homing beacon, but didn't do a thing about it.  For all we know, that's what they wanted - a trail leading right to this planet.  Of course, I'm speculating a little here, but I think you get the idea."

[Balkazar]

"Im not sure if that would be a good idea because if they decided to upgrade there weapon systems you would be putting the ship in harms way.  I cant allow that.  Drop us." Balkazar trailed on and zoomed in on a clearing atleast a good 10 mile trek south of the outpost.  "Drop us their.  Its a perfect clearing, they wont have the drop on us, not to mention we will beable to see them from miles away.  Just beam the marine forces their.  Then we will trek it on by Puma.  We can use the shuttles on board here as a fighter screen while my Pelicans load up with marines.  The Pelicans will be our reserve forces, once we enter the outpost and cause enough confusion, our Pelicans will come in and land additional troops.  I doubt we will loose many men if we hit them all at once." Balkazar suggested.

[Patrick Brown]

*Turns to Bode*

Major?, last time I checked I did'nt Demote him, and at the Moment we are running under Radio Slience, the Colonel Will Check in when Needed, I got fath in that, and given we have been attacked, I surmise they have been attacked too.

[Voyager]

"I'll try to reconfigure the main deflector to emit an EMP, but it might rebound on our ship too, I don't have much experience with EMPs, but it will also disable all other functions on the ship, since the EMP will essentially destroy all electronics on the ship.  You're going to pretty much melt all of the console and other electronics inside the ship. However, you'll have to use the tachyon burst first.  I'm ready to fire on your orders.  And also, I don't really see why a rogue faction of the Romulan Star Empire would give them cloaking technology, the Felians aren't advanced enough to be much help."

Dolan was beginning to wonder how far the general was going to go to finish this mission with the lowest losses of Starfleet and Marine life.
