"Essentially, these designs have their own power source seperate from the main reactor?.  Interesting, have you thought about what would happen if they somehow became damaged? Would it have its seperate shield matrix?.  Thinking of these things will allow you to go along way.  Thinking outside the box shall we say.  But over all a good idea.  When I saw shield matrix, im reffering a shield that protects the phaser bank itself and its reactor.  Should something happen the shield would beable to protect the reactor and the phaser bank more efficiently." Simon told Dolan while trying to encourage him to think more unorthadox and prepare for any possible situation before it happens.

Balkazar

<Hearing the red alert klaxons, Balkazar became alert now more then ever>

"Cmon Nate, lets get to the bridge and find out what the hell is going on." Balkazar said to Nate.  As he passed by Moore, he called out.  "Moore, have all troops suit up." Balkazar said as he passed by the armory, he quickly got geared up before he and Nate went to the bridge.

"Whats going on?" Balkazar asked in a rough voice.

William Richerd

As Captain Simon said those words Richerd entered the Bridge. "I heard you from here... but thank you for informing us anyway." He smiled and looked at the screen.

"You want boarding parties ready? Or should we prepare our Pelicans?" He was asking not sure of how it would play out now, but he was looking forward to stopping them from getting their hands of Omega.

<The sensors went off as a proximity alarm went off on the bridge.  Still unable to detect if they were friends or not he pulled out his phaser from his waist and began to walk forward.  He had motioned for Brown to follow him.  Threw fallen bulk heads and debris they soon came face to face with Raszagal, Nathan, and HK47>

"Im so happy you survived and didnt come to any harm.  Where are the rest of the marines?" Simon asked weakly.

Voyager

Dolan's team finished building and programming the prototype phaser bank far ahead of his projected time.  They double checked everything, especially the sensors and enemies file.  Dolan then contacted Balkazar using one of the nearby marine's combadge, since he was unsure if his own would be able to contact the colonel.

"Colonel, if it is still needed, we are ready to deploy the phaser bank."

Dolan was surprised at the droid's apparent enjoyment of harm.  He briefly wondered who programmed its AI before continuing on with his work.

"We have relatively minor damage throughout the ship.  It won't be long before we can get back on course to Avalon Station."

Dolan finished repairs in the section of the ship he was in and was heading back to engineering when he noticed a storage room on the ship no one had entered yet.  Deciding to take inventory, he went inside.  He saw a number of spare parts but also saw some strange items, none of which were recognizable to Dolan, except for a couple that were familiar to Dolan.  He continued to take inventory, making very detailed descriptions of the things he couldn't identify.

"Well, I have plans to create a secondary shield for the ship in case the main one fails, but since that seems a little far away, I would think that a small shield generator could be integrated into the phaser bank, since they are so much more compact.  The shield matrix would probably only be activated if the ship's shields were disabled, to maintain the highest phaser bank output possible.  In addition, the phaser bank can be disconnected from the main control, with authorization from several of the senior staff, since it has a small computer to maintain the sensors and to help acquire the target faster.  It would by default be connected to the ship's computer, but if the ship was under attack by multiple targets in multiple directions, instead of the multi-vector assault mode the Prometheus class has, the ship's phasers would be able to fire on the targets simultaneously if needed.  However, the only disadvantage - though it can be an advantage - to the disconnection is that reconnecting the phaser bank to the main computer is only possible from the phaser bank itself.  This could be made into a time-intensive process, to prevent the enemy from seizing control of the ship's weapons before their own ship is destroyed, as the phasers would continue to fire.  Reprogramming the phaser's computer might also be made into a time-intensive process, to give the crew enough time to stop whoever is trying to sabotage the ship from succeeding."

(OOC: To Admiral Yates: I'll address my promotion in a little bit, I just want to get this self-sufficent phaser bank discussion finished up.  For now, I've changed my avatar, so I won't have to do it in the minutes right before I have to jump on my bus to school.  Then again, you could make your "mistake" again...)

((OOC: Aww...a bioship would have been so much more interesting...))

Dolan carefully monitored the Heraani ship's movements.  They were indeed powering up weapons, but they were also launching about half a dozen smaller vessels, about the size of a shuttle, who also began powering weapons.

"Fine, Helm set course for the planet engage maximum speed possible.  Alert the Marines, Dolan stand by to assist General Powell, Brown, fire at those fighters." Simon ordered.

Raszagal

(OFF: Considering the Puma has it's own sensor array and comm system, I'll assume you sent that comm channel to the truck itself. Also, good luck with those Heraan, you might as well be up against a Jedi. Only the strongest Heraan carry energy blades, the average soldier just carries a plasma rifle.)

Raszagal pulled the Puma up to the edge of the hull of the Lothlorien, and listened in to her radio. "We've just arrived at the ship, Colonel. We've detected the Heraani brigade, they're about fifteen minutes out."

The young Gallifreyan climbed out of the Puma, and walked up to the ship. Eerily, she ran her hands over the very edge of the battered hull, before spotting an access panel that had luckily not been buried or destroyed. Raszagal stepped up to the panel, HK47 and the Lieutenant close behind, and she pulled the panel off, taking a step into the ship.

Raszagal

Raszagal affixed the Heraani energy bracer to her arm and hoisted her rifle. The team entered the Heraani scoutship and split into two distinct groups. Raszagal kept low, her rifle at the ready, as they made their way through the glossy-walled corridors of the ship. An occasional Heraan happened to stumble across their party, but were quickly silenced.

Raszagal and her team arrived at the command chamber on the ship, and the young Gallifreyan saw a Heraani lieutenant standing at the command platform. Warships of the Heraani armada had no command seats, and very few chairs of any sort. With a silent wave for her men to hold back, Raszagal set her rifle to the deck, retrieved her Khaydarin shard from her pocket, and keyed the door to open. There were various Heraan working at their stations, and Raszagal used the power of the shard to mask her presence, not physically, but in the minds of the aliens.

One Heraan began to walk toward her, and Raszagal froze. The tall alien began to walk past her, and tripped over her foot, stumbling a bit. The Gallifreyan focused as much energy as possible into the shard, hoping to maintain her anonymity. The alien turned, looked directly at her foot...

...and shrugged it off, thinking he must have tripped over a loose bit of plating on the deck. Raszagal breathed a sigh of relief, and inched closer to the lieutenant. She came as close as she could, knowing any closer would alert the officer's psionic senses to her presence. She immediately refocused her energy from stealth to sheer power, and leaped at the Heraan, lighting her bracer in mid-air. The lieutenant turned just in time to see the swirling, green energy blade pierce his chest, and to realize the irony of his death by a Heraani weapon.

At this point, her cover was blown, and she faced several armed aliens, all training their plasma rifles at her head.

HK47

"You sure you dont want me to disembowl anyone?.  Ah nuts." he said snapping his metalic fingers in a somewhat human manner.

"Well are you done downloading the program or what, Lt.  I can be disembowling people by now." HK said obviously getting irritated at the slowness of the Engineer.

"So Ancient Meatbag, I have been around these humans a long time and I know whats allowed and not allowed, as long as I dont permanently silence anyone onboard im fine." HK said towards Raszagal.
