((Im going to take command of the Lothlorien JUST! until Bode is able to post again.))

"Helm, set course and engage warp 8." Simon said as he walked down to the command chair, then sat in it feeling good to be back in the chair even if it will be temporary.

"Yes sir, Setting course and engaging warp 8, Aye.  ETA 6 hours." the helmsmen called out.

Tom simply nodded at the Director, as the klaxons began wailing a red alert. As the Captain moved out of his ready room onto the Bridge, Tom silently moved towards the operations console, and began accessing functions. His station was secluded enough so that non of the other bridge officers could see what he was doing without standing next to him.

He began running a few programs he developed in his early years. They were a few of the programs he used whenever he hacked a system, though he never used the same on constantly, else a block would be developed for it. He had about ten different programs that he alternated between with each time he hacked a system, and this time he used his Echo set.

His screen showed the addresses of each of the consoles on the entire ship, and some parameters Tom had built into his program - ways of narrowing his search. He first selected consoles only on the bridge. He then cross-referenced which consoles were designated for each department, and then who was logged onto them, quickly finding the one he wanted. Console #452345-009, User: Dolan, William, Department: Science.

He soon accessed the system without any notifications appearing on any screen, anywhere, and without even any logs in the computer cores. He set his program to copy every shred of data that passed through the Lieutenant's terminal, and display it on a small section in the bottom-left of his own screen, and send copies to three separate storage locations in his quarters, and again to another data store he had hidden in an area of the ship previously. Sure, he might be paranoid, but it might save his life one day.

Double-checking that the computer cores had no evidence of his hack, he began running his scans on the Heraani vessels.

"Operations; ready." he stated, in reply to the Captain's call for reports. He began analysing the readings he was getting from the various vessels, and thought he would comment on Lieutenant Brown's idea.

"We can modulate the phasers to fire two bursts, one timed precisely after the other, and at different power ratings. The first can be programmed to overload their shields, and the second to disable and/or destroy any part of the ship in our line of fire. The ships can either be destroyed, or disabled ready for capture."

He then transferred the calibration data to the Tactical Console, ready for the tactical officer to enter in if the Captain took up on his suggestion. His hack tool confirmed they arrived at the console.

"As for the larger vessel, it seems to have multiple shield generators. If one is overloaded, then it will only leave us a minute gap, and precision manoeuvring would be needed to be able to his a critical point in the vessel through the points where the shields would have a gap. If, however, we overload two generators simultaneously, then a larger gap would be created, and a better shot would be opened."

Dolan scanned the system throughly before saying, "There is an asteroid belt on the outer part of the star system.  We might be able to take refuge behind some of the larger asteroids."

The ship continued to shake violently as the ship came under heavy fire from more Heraani fighters that were being deployed.  At Dolan's last count, there were 15 and the numbers were beginning to increase rapidly.  Another 3 were deployed as Dolan lowered the amount of power going to sensors slightly, so more power could go to weapons.

<As sparks flew everywhere and consoles continued to explode all around the bridge as the shields were dropped then raised again, the ship continued to dive straight for the planet surface with more velocity then originally expected>

"STATUS!" Simon yelled as bulk heads fell and fires started all over the bridge.

((Alright, post edited...just one question, how are we expected to survive without something to get rid of the Heraani?  Right now we're pretty much assured to die.  Or is some form of a deus ex machina going to save us all?))

Dolan hoped everyone on this mission would survive, especially with so many Heraani fighters after them.  The marines were only about half an hour from the research complex where Dolan believed the Omega was.  However, the chance of them getting there without major casualties were rapidly decreasing as a dozen more fighters started firing on the marines.  He was unsure how they were going to destroy the Omega at this point since the Lothlorien was now down with the Captain and Admiral out of contact and the General busy trying to keep all of his marines alive.  As the marines closed in on the research facility, Dolan noticed that it seemed to resemble a power plant and wondered if the Omega was being created as a power source for something.

Dolan was losing his patience and was now under the impression Balkazar usually just bullied his plans through.  He replied icily, "Well, you can't have both a plan that doesn't lose lives and takes place immediately.  Rash action causes loss of life.  My plan, though it may take some time, will leave the ship salvagable, if only their weapon array is targetted.  Your battalion's restlessness is a neglegable problem, I'm sure you've dealt with it before, with all of your experience.  Storming the Heraani ship with its weapons still intact is suicide.  Even -"

Dolan was then interrupted by an approaching marine, a major from the look of his pins, who said, "Colonel, the mortar just hit the ship's weapon array.  We going to have to move quickly if we are going to take advantage of this, they have deployed repair teams.  However, the Heraani ship also suffered structural damage, we don't know if the ship is stable enough to take off."

Dolan muttered a few swear words under his breath, now sure that Balkazar was going to storm the Heraani ship without another thought.

"Hurry up and deal with the explosives and get this damn tub moving.  I dont want to be attacked by federation ships and they think we are Heraani and we all blow up." Rajnus said angrily.

(OOC: No one here is a Lieutenaut, as far as I can tell.)

"Well, the few people that are in the Science Department usually carry on by themselves and I have some experience in Engineering, so it isn't too difficult to manage, especially after so many years in the Academy.  I was crazy enough to switch from Engineering to Science back at the Academy when I was only a few months away from finishing the Engineering course.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll take my station."

Dolan then took over his station, where he monitored the ship's sensor readings.  He made a note to ask for Rajnus's opinion on his phaser bank design, when they had some free time.

Quinn

Quinn was about to look over the calibrations sent over when the ship shook suddenly. He steadied himself, gripping the sides of his console for support.

"Shields are holding at 92%,"

((I'm assuming the fighters don't do any major damage))
"Sorry Admiral, thought you died,"

Aariya Sayuri

((I actually have no idea where exactly a counselor is supposed to go durring a red alert. *fails*))

Since she was already on the bridge and had yet to encounter a Heerani vessel up until now, curiosity urged her to remain. Finding an unmanned console near the back of the bridge, she quietly walked over to it and began to tap at the controls. After entering in her clearance, she skimmed over the data that had been gathered herself. This may have seemed a bit suspicious considering her position, and under normal circumstances she would have avoided doing it in such a public way (instead, she would have gained access from her office or quarters. After all, she didn't need to hide who/what she was from the Captain, so this wasn't an issue...) but after being briefed as a member of the senior staff, and being talked to privately in the Captain's ready room, most people would probably shrug it off as something he had asked her to stay involved in, which wasn't entirely inaccurate. He had asked her to keep an eye on things, after all...

That's when the ship shook beneath her, nearly knocking her off her feet. She hunched against the console in front of her, bracing for impact that was surely to come again.

Dolan was a little startled at how soon they were all transported.  He got on the same vehicle as General Powell.  He felt uncomfortable in the marine armor, but supposed if it helped him survive, he could live with it.  He carried his rifle a little awkwardly as he took out his personal tricorder, which was a standard tricorder but with a few additions Dolan made himself.

"General, several of the fighters are coming after us!"  Several nearby plasma bursts proved Dolan correct and Dolan grimaced as the vehicle shook after almost being hit.

Dolan then glanced at his tricorder again before quietly saying to Powell, "I think the Omega is in a research complex several kilometers ahead of us.  It seems somewhat lightly guarded, so they probably don't know the magnitude or the consequenses of what they are doing.  We might have to seize the Omega by force.  Do you have any idea on how we then destroy the molecule?"

Quinn

((I love how I was the first to step on to the ship(Other Character) and one of the last ones on :P))

After a while of sitting with his back to his console Quinn felt that he could probably walk a bit. He lifted himself up to his feet just when Richard came back. It was hard to listen when all he could hear was pain screaming in his head.

"This ship is dead, maybe we could set the warhead and leave the Heerani a little surprise when they come here to find us," He said, knowing that would mean the complete destruction of The Lorthlorien, but she's obviously beyond repair and if it's going to die it might as well take a group of bastards with it.
"Sorry Admiral, thought you died,"

Balkazar

"Major, Set the armored marines up, their shields can withstand the weapons of the Heraani alot longer then the unprotected squads, HK, you lead them AND WATCH YOUR FIRE!.  I want that ship intact as much as possible.  Have Firing squads ready to move in and set up a forward hold, we dont let them have a single inch of ground without a fight.  Tell the medic's to keep their heads down, Raszagal, I need you to go with HK, perhaps your psionic abilities will be useful.  Once the mortar's teams have cleared away any opposition on the ship I want you to storm it, im sure they will resist so kill them.  Grab a few marines and have them assist Dolan in getting his pet science project out of the Lothlorien and hope its computer core wasnt destroyed, but im sure it was.  See what you can do.  Also Major, get the Puma's I want them to reinforce the fire teams and set up a parimeter around the ship." Balkazar ordered.
