His fingers danced across the panel like a spider's legs, tapping red and green template after template. After a minute or so, the console beeped a positive tone, and his work was complete.)

Sir, the secondary sensor systems have been successfully reconfigured to distort all internal sensor readings made by the station's sensor arrays. Also, I was able to modify the system to create a sensor blind spot that will follow us, as it is locked onto our combadges. Additionally, to prevent anyone from detecting the changes to the protocols, I reprogrammed the diagnostic subroutines. I also managed to disable a few of the stations defense systems, which relied on the main sensor systems for activation.

I agree. We cannot afford to underestimate the Loxian Government. In the meantime, Mr. Black informs me that he has restored partial impulse. We hsall assume standard orbit of Vontak Nor momentarily and begin docking procedures on your mark. Your people are almost home.

Sir, you are the Captain of the Skytoucher. Your place is on the bridge...but...as illogical as it may seem, I understand what you must do. I will try to explain the situation to Admiral Montrell when we return to the station. If you have any message to relay to him, I will make certain that he receives it.

In the meantime, the Skytoucher must return to Avalon. We are heavily damaged and we have lost many good crewmembers. I am afraid that my first attempt at command has not been successful, sir. I do not know what will happen to the ship once we return to base, but if I am still stationed on the Skytoucher, please know that the ship will be available whenever you need her.

Mr. Rhade, I agree with Gul Marcet. Your plan has merit. Prepare to access an appropriate terminal as soon as we reach one.

Mr. Omak, and everyone else, continue scanning, and keep your weapons ready. I doubt we will encounter any live soldiers at this point, but automatic defenses may cause problems...
